So after carefully reading through all the negative reviews for this hotel I have to say I was a little worried- but I actually had a very pleasant stay! I reserved this hotel because of the price- it's a budget hotel. I knew things wouldn't be perfect. I travelled, in October, with my husband and 2 year old in the car. Right away we found parking at the front door. Convenient! Now if you're traveling with a kid the stroller will be hard because there are stairs every where. It's not handicapped accessible. We left stroller in the car and just walked to room every day. You could leave it in the lobby but would still have stairs to climb. Also the stairs that go directly to the lobby from the lower street are stupid just go around on the street and walk down. Much easier. The wifi wasn't great but we had mobile phone service- didn't matter. Room was clean and comfortable. Cheap room with "no views" still had a beach view if I stuck my head out the window, but honestly go to the 1 of the many terraces. Views galore. Convenient location. We weren't too centric but only like 5-10 minute walk away. Avoided the noise and had the views but could still go out. No AC. It was October so no problem, but also that doesn't bother me. Everything else was fine. No food rule was odd but we survived and you will too! For a short budget stay I would definitely recommend!

Terrible experience – do not stay here Our stay at Hotel da Galé was deeply disappointing and completely unacceptable even for the low price. Management and staff essentially bully guests when legitimate issues are raised, and to top it off, they refused to issue a refund. The maintenance and safety conditions of the hotel are shocking: Severe Accessibility & Safety Issues: There are multiple sets of stairs just to reach your room, both going up and down and the lift did not help you avoid those stairs. The pool had a broken ladder that was half off, creating a major safety hazard. Exposed, loose wires were visible on fixtures, and light fixtures were broken and half-hanging off the walls. Uncomfortable Rooms: The rooms lack air conditioning, or even a fan, making them stuffy and hot, and the bedding had actual holes in the sheets, along with stains. Between the blatant disregard for basic guest safety, poor room conditions, and hostile service, this hotel should honestly be shut down. Save your money and stay somewhere else. We ended up leaving like an hr after checking in and going somewhere else. Even with the cheap price it’s not worth it!

We arrived hot and tired at around 2.00pm so as this was our check in time it felt a relief. The receptionist was busy scanning her computer whilst we stood at reception. I knew straight away there were issues. Considering that you have to check out at 11.00am you would expect a room to be ready by 2.00pm! The receptionist then told us our room is not ready. We did not get into our room till 3.30. It did not feel like very good customer service. She told us we could buy cold drinks while we waited. We were charged 4 Euros for a two litre bottle of water.I think they should given us this gratis for their poor service. The room was OK smallish for a double and shower basic. But no air conditioning. It does however have a good view becuae it is high upon the hill overlooking the beach. But if you have any mobility issues the stairs that come up from the main street to reception are at least 50 you have to stop halfway up. The hotel throughout has lots of up and down steps. Our booking included breakfast (continental) served uo on the top floor (self-service) It consisted of pastries, sliced ham/cheese/ toast/apples or oranges /fruit juice/jam/ coffee machine/tea. No yoghurt. It was very basic and 7 nights made the repetition of boring. Lastly I must mention the sea. 20 euros for two sunbeds with brolleys. There are two cafes on the beach the first near the tunnel is great and fair prices. The other one with the roof terrace is pricey. Water is freezing!

On checking in, girl on reception was rude and unwelcoming! Booked and paid for a triple room which they couldn’t give us. Rooms were unbelievably hot with no air con. Friends were refused to bring a bottle of water into their rooms - if I could give it no stars I would….

There were many marble stairs. The view was spectacular. Since there is no ac we had to leave the windows open and the noise was loud until 1:00 am. The free breakfast was nice at the roof top.
