Loved the hotel, its facilities and the staff. Didn’t like having to pay £8 to park when anyone using the bar or restaurant could park for free. It felt like a rip off. Didn’t like the rubbish WiFi. The breakfast was okay but nothing special. Ive had a lot better for a lot less money.

Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Very very warm rooms. Very loud function happening downstairs with no mention of this upon booking or check in. Made getting to sleep very difficult.

Driven past this hotel countless times & always thought that it looked like a lovely, well presented building. Thankfully thanks to Hotels.com I eventually stayed there last night & it didn’t disappoint. Everything was pretty much what I expected , couldn’t really fault it, except maybe for the £8.00 daily parking charge, I personally don’t think that residents should be charged this.

The room was nice, clean and spacious, however seemed rather pricey £160, compared with similar places. Felt car parking at an extra £8 for 24 hrs was quite cheeky. Breakfast was lovely, full English, various options, even kedgeree.

We booked this hotel for one night, as we had a friend's party near by. The hotel is stunning from the outside and is easily walkable to the whole town, although we arrived late saturday and most things were closed on sunday. The room was very nice and big, however we were close to the area a wedding party was being held so it was noisy until 1am. The room was too warm so the windows had to be left open, there was no air conditioning, a fan was provided but this was too loud to sleep with, when switched on. Unfortunately our room was also facing the front of the hotel so we were woken up by people revving their cars on the main road. The breakfast provided was very good Overall a nice hotel, however I wouldn't stay again in summer due to the noise

As a regular visitor to the Bedford hotel I was very unimpressed when they billed me £8.00 to park my car overnight at the hotel. Just because I booked the room through a third party. If I had booked direct there is no charge apparently. This will cost the hotel money in my opinion. Although only £8.00 its the principal. They are happy to promote themselves through third party websites but then charge the customer for that. I won’t be stopping there again. That £8.00 charge has just cost them approximately £1000.00 per year. Not good business.

Lovely olde worlde hotel in the centre of tavistock. Great free parking at the hotel. Nice private garden to sit out if weather permits. Very good breakfast with large choice of hot food served to order..

I stayed overnight and met with friends so my experience was only related to the bedroom and the following mornings breakfast. Staff are incredibly friendly and very welcoming and the room was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Was very tasty and well cooked and the service was prompt and delivered with a smile. Hopefully I will be back.

Spacious, comfortable room in good location. I was able to charge my EV. Very comfortable bed with clean sheets. Bathroom clean generally but seal in shower and shower tray around the door was a bit grotty.

Lovely classic Hotel, lots of creaking floorboards, & I’m sure steeped in History. Staff were amazing, very professional & helpful. Food was good although fancied that second slice of bacon, sausage & egg at breakfast. Room was clean, comfortable. Portable A/C struggled to cool room temperature but not a major issue. I would stay again, so thank you Bedford.

This hotel is in a very convenient central location in Tavistock. It’s a short walk to shops and restaurants and pubs, and it has its own parking, so what is not to like? Inside, it is traditional, but clean and tidy, with a decent restaurant and bar. my room was warm and comfortable, if a little bit small. But I would go back there again if visiting Tavistock. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Ground floor room was close to car park which did cause some noise which disturbed us night and morning The room was very small with only a walking edge around the bed We have stayed here many time and there are nicer rooms available so I suggest you book direct with hotel

A lovely and relaxing place to spend some time. Only thingI’d change would be a more effective fan, as the rooms upstairs are a bit too hot for my liking. Otherwise I’d recommend heartily!

The Bedford Hotel was a charming hotel, full of character and warm, welcoming staff. My only concern was hearing the floors creaking in the room above ours when the guests came in and I was trying to get to sleep - and although they turned out to be quiet, if they were less so, it might have become irritating if they had not been.

The hotel was fabulous and I love Tavistock. We were a little disappointed with our room - it was tiny and you couldn't look out of the windows as the glass was obscured. We definitely didn't expect that but I imagine it was because we booked theough an agency.

The staff at the Bedford is exceptional. Every person was kind and helpful. The hotel has multiple places to sit and enjoy the atmosphere for a drink or time with a good book and the food was outstanding. There is no lift so be prepared to walk up some stairs but the view was worth it!

Had a lovely stay at the Bedford Hotel. Room was well presented and clean. The staff were very friendly (Zoe on the front desk was very chatty and knowledgeable). Tasty breakfast and a nice late time to check out by. I was able to park my car in their car park and see my car from the room. Thank you for a great stay!

This hotel and its staff were excellent. Since booking my health wasn’t so good but they accommodated us and changed our room to suit. They were helpful and professional and friendly. Efficient. A few were obviously new but polite and helpful

We did not enjoy our stay here, the room was very expensive for what it was, and we did not find it comfortable. The bathroom was old-fashioned and the towels were worn and off-white. The food was not great at dinner although the breakfast was excellent. We paid for parking which seemed a bit excessive in consideration of the high cost of the room. It could do with a refurb.

This is a lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and a really good breakfast. The friend I was travelling with has celiacs but there was gluten free cornflakes and bread available so she didn’t miss out, the veggie breakfast was good too. Having learned it’s dog friendly we will be back with our hounds.

Rooms on the bottom floor are the worse in the hotel. Lots of noise from rooms above and rooms at the sides. Stayed a few times and I won’t be staying again. The menu is too fancy and expensive.
