Hotel Atlanta delivers a centrally located base on Rembrandt Square with easy tram access, but expect very steep stairs and no elevator, small dated rooms without air conditioning, lively late-night noise, and generally friendly, helpful staff.

Stayed 3 nights

It’s cheap and cheerful in the centre of Amsterdam. It’s fine for going away with mates, probably not to take a partner!

Stayed 6 nights

Atlanta is an older budget hotel that is safe, clean and in a perfect central location. Few room amenities, but that’s why it’s so affordable (fridge in room though). I’ve stayed here twice, once for 9 days and then for 6 and had no issues. There are other “budget” hotels I’ve stayed in town where I’d never go back. The Atlanta is one l would go back to and still do. The square does get loud at night, so keep that in mind. It didn’t bother me much. My favorite aspect is the secure 24hr key card needed to enter the building. Not that it’s a bad area at all, just a heavy with foot traffic. I have never had the breakfast, but it looks basic and fresh. Staff is friendly and always cleaning something. Plus a tram stop right out front that goes all over the city and Centraal Station. I recommend The Atlanta if you are looking for basic and safe accommodations in a prime Amsterdam location for a budget price.

Stayed 3 nights

I was looking forward to my 3 night stay in Amsterdam, until I checked into the Atlanta hotel. The first room provided was 3 flights up stairs with no lift. The room smelled disgusting, Window was wide open and could see and smell bird faeces. Also, on that floor the shared shower was filthy. There was hair in the drain and the basin was filthy. I was then given another room up 4 flights of stairs. This room was slightly better, but could tell it wasn't cleaned properly. There was blood on the curtain. All the surfaces were filthy. Everything was very dusty. The remote control for TV and the room telephone was filthy. There was stains on the mirror and on the mattress. There was food stains in the fridge in the room which looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Altogether, the cleanliness of the place was horrible. I've never experienced such a disgusting hotel. Also, a reception staff walked in my room. There were no signs to put on door if you don't want to be disturbed. I heard another guest saying to reception about the same issue. Also, they don't make it clear that the place isn't suitable for disabled people. There is no lift access, so if your in a mobility scooter then you'll have to leave it all the way downstairs. Honestly save your money and don't book here. I didn't even have breakfast for the 3 days because I would not eat from somewhere that can't maintain a standard of cleanliness. Staff also not helpful. Would rather argue than help. Avoid at all costs
