My check in did not go well. It was not the staff person, he couldn’t have been nicer, it was the hotel policy. I arrived at noon and was told my room was ready but there was a $75.00 early check in fee. This was the first time I encountered this policy at any hotel and whoever in corporate initiated this policy should be fired on the spot!! I hope that this is not something that is going to become a new normal! I understand a fee for a late check out as a hotel needs to ready the rooms for incoming guests but if a room is ready to charge an early check in fee is nothing but a money grab. Until I hear this policy has been changed I will not be staying at the Parker House! My stay otherwise was fine, the room was clean and it was quiet but this early check-in put a damper on the Parker House experience, I finally did check in at 5pm. Horrible!

Historical hotel in the middle of old downtown Boston. Considering how expensive Boston is and our overall pleasurable experience during our stay, this hotel was an excellent value in hindsight. If you have a family I highly recommend getting the bigger room that has a desk and sofa — having room to spread out and lounge around helped keep our sanity. The standard room with two queen beds is very small and is difficult to maneuver around with multiple people and their belongings.
