It’s an old hotel - shared bathroom down the hall - the room had kettle, fridge, tv, reversible aircon, room serviced daily - nice busy bar with good food choices… great location. Friendly, helpful staff.

Loved this vibrant hotel and the meals were great. Some difficulty getting luggage up and down the many stairs and would prefer bathroom door be wooden for more privacy and to stop light spilling into sleeping area during nocturnal toilet trips. Terrific location. Would stay there again

Close to everything you want to visit in the centre of Fremantle, this hotel has the benefit of limited free parking spaces (brilliant in a place that charges for parking by the hour)

Good over night stay while going to the beerfest on the Esplanade. Easy check in and check out. Parking provided. Clean room with good facilities, and a free pint at the bar! Will happily stay here again.

Room was nice but the bathroom had not been cleaned from last person. Lady handling check in and accommodation was not very friendly. Pub is great itself, food and atmosphere is wonderful just would never stay again.

Right next to the Fremantle Markets, a lot of shops and restaurants in walking distance. The room and the shared bathroom were really clean. A bit loud at night, but didn't bothered us.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location if you don't mind a bit of noise. My room had an unpleasant odour on arrival but opening the window seemed to quickly fix this. Left the window open so was noisier (traffic, mainly) than would otherwise have been the case. Room was basic, but clean and had everything I needed and nothing that I didn't. Shower in the tiny ensuite had excellent water pressure and got hot. Enjoyed my complimentary beer in the cosy bar downstairs.

Sadly, the sound proofing wasn’t up to par. The music from the bar downstairs was very audible, and I couldn’t get to sleep until it stopped around midnight. The bed also felt uneven, almost like it was tilted sideways. If you’re looking for a good night’s sleep, bring earplugs or book elsewhere, is my recommendation.

Probably a better stay than I was expecting - it can always be a bit dicey staying above a pub, but I had no problems. If there was music on late, I couldn't hear it and my neighbours were quieter than some places I've stayed lately. The room was small but did the job & the shower was great. I will definitely be back at some stage.

The room was clean and well equipped, on the smaller side but very good for price and had everything we needed, excellent location. The door to our room was not soundproof and we were disturbed by other guests talking outside our room, We had an ensuite but guests using the shared bathroom which was near our room were noisy and smoking. This is no fault of management just inconsiderate guests. Maybe some signage as a reminder might help.

Had a great stay here. As others mentioned it is stairs only, no lift and you are above a restaurant and bar so it can be noisy at night. But room was spotless and well appointed. Got a free drink with check in, price was best in town also. Right across the street from the Fremantle Market.

Not possible to give a good review to a place that sells single rooms facing the blazing afternoon sun with no air conditioners! And the room I stayed in did not cool down. It was always very hot and stuffy. The staff were mostly lovely, but nothing compensated for the horrendous heat!

I’ve just stayed for 3 nights in one of the queen rooms, room was clean and was serviced daily. Room little tired but I have no problem with that, aircon worked, nice shower pressure and toiletries provided. The noise though from the bar music is way too much, the Sunday night which was my first night was the loudest and it goes on nearly all night every night! Street noise can start from 4am, a secondary glazing on the windows might cut a lot of the noise down. The landing area outside the room has wooden door which was left open one night which let more noise into the building. Then to top it off on my last morning the waste cooking oil truck reversed into the carpark at 540am with reverse alarms blaring right below my room window. Outside the bathroom window and one of the windows there’s an outside light, this shines through the windows all night turning night into day. I’d suggest either turning the light off or using black out blinds on the windows in that area. Would I stay here again? I’d stay for a night but wouldn’t leave the bar until midnight then at least the music would have stopped, after 3 nights I’m shattered.

The Norfolk Hotel is fabulous in terms of atmosphere and history, vibe and catering. However as a 'resident' twice now both times have been uncomfortable. First evening the noise on the streets (not a hotel issue) was loud and continuous with obviously happy people not realizing that they were next to a hotel with sleeping patrons.... motorbikes skidded around outside my window and yelling and laughter continued until around 3am. I was exhausted. The next time I was there, a week later, my room had a TV that did not work (no worries - I read instead) but the room was next to the entrance flight of stairs with lights on through the night. The blinds would not unfold all the way nor could i close them to cut out light ... I placed pillows and a towel over as much as I could ... I understand the lights are needed for safety but this particular room should have a more effective blind (not malfunctioning shutters) so the patron could sleep in peace.

The bathroom in the ensuite rooms are quite small and tight but are clean. if your a bigger person or have issues with small spaces it can feel quite constricting. Blinds do not keep sunlight out, my room was VERY bright at 540am. and my aircon switched off sometime in the night which I woke up very hot.There is only stairs so if you have mobility issues this is not suitable accommodation. My bed was quite hard yet my friends was not. it was close to the markets and a nice stroll to eateries and the beach.

The staff we encountered were all super friendly and good at their jobs. I was a bit daunted when we arrived at the back of the hotel to park. The back steps were a bit primitive but the rooms were nice and clean and set up well with all the amenities. The complimentary drinks were appreciated. We didn’t eat there but did have drinks which were reasonably priced and icy cold. The price was reasonable and the customer service was awesome. I will definitely stay here again.

Hotel is based in Fremantle which is a nice place and way better than Perth in my opinion. Hotel is part of a restaurant and bar. The rack of spirits behind the bar (photo attached) is worth a look. The stay itself was OK but they took a key deposit of $20 and despite me saying when I was going to check out and then saying there would be no problem, there was no on there to take back my key and refund my $20. I still have the key (photo attached) they still have my $20. Best avoided I'm afraid.

Manager phoned the day before to ask what time I was arriving. Close to walk to cafes and waterfront. On the bus route. In-house restaurant was very nice. A great restoration of an old building.

I thought it was actually really well maintained and the staff were incredibly polite. It’s just that I’m 71 and the stairs with my suitcase a little bit to tackle. Not that that would stop me from recommending it or using it again.

The staff were amazing, I would like to make special mention of Gerry, always smiling and absolutely nothing was too much to ask of him. My room was so comfortable with my own coffee machine. I was tossing up if to write anything because once the secret us out the place will always be booked out. The food was Asian inspired and delicious, the pizza's top level. I am a chef and have been in hospitality in various roles since I was fifteen. Not very often you get a venue that ticks all the boxes. I will be back and soon.

Excellent hotel with tremendous welcome & temperature sensitive medication straight to a fridge as check in was hours away, bag storage and taken to room for us while we explored Freo. Welcome drink, excellent WiFi and a really delicious pizza in the restaurant. Well appointed and comfortable room. A great stay!

Would have to start with the amazing customer service, getting a phone call prior to my stay to confirm my time of arrival and guide me on how to find my parking bay. Things only got better from there, Easy and quick check in, room was spotless with extra facilities such as a coffee pod machine and the bed was comfortable. I thought it was great value all round, given the average price of accommodation in Fremantle and what you get for it I will be back!

Norfolk Hotel was a great place to stay for a solo visit to Perth and Fremantle. Super convenient to everything in Fremantle and a quick walk to the train station to Perth CBD and surrounding areas. The pub downstairs was terrific too - great bartenders and terrific food!

The location is fantastic. Right in the center of town near restaurants , shops and waterfront. We had a parking spot for car. The hotel is old and our room was on the smaller side, but it was clean and we had a fridge with creamers and coffee for first thing in morning. The staff was very friendly.

This hotel is next level. The food here is amazing, great value for money and tastes out of this world. I had a pizza with garlic bread, then a chocolate brownie for desert. I would highly recommend the food The staff here are very professional. For hospitality industry it's a dieing art. Not many places care about the customer any more. This place does care............ Thank you to all the staff, especially the kitchen staff!!!
