I only gave a negative response because the Bistro was not open in the evening, no bar facilities, and lack of breakfast at the cafe in the morning. Staff all helpful and polite. Lovely room, great shower.

Very comfortable room. Shame about evening dining! Told on checking in we could eat in the Bistro but when we went down later we were turned away saying there was a private party and no tables for an hour, no warning previously, no signs to indicate.

On arrival (mid October), I was advised that there was no restaurant service other than breakfast, and no bar. Room was clean and fresh, however I discovered a used towel on the radiator behind the Bathroom door. TV worked fine, but there was no remote. Bathroom fan worked well but was noisy, so may have upset neighbours, (electric) shower worked well, but was also quite noisy. It is clear that this is a seasonal hotel. And the season had ended, so few staff. Disappointing, as it could have been good I think if all the resources had been available.

No mention of winter hours when booking. We visited for business so we were up early and expecting breakfast but it didn’t open until 9am(1 hour after we had to be in work) so had to find breakfast elsewhere. Also, no mention of the restaurant being shut for the winter so had to find out evening meals at different locations. Reception didn’t open until 9am either so had to wait around to check out in the morning. Overall, disappointed but the room was as expected for the price.

Although on the surface clean things like black sealant around bath , nowhere to hang towel , toilet roll in wall behind you! And damaged headboards made the room feel neglected. Staff are friendly and helpful. Young waiter in restaurant works very hard and is extremely polite but his life would be much easier if he received some hospitality training on managing several tables at a time. He is a star in the making if someone invests in him.

Really great! We only stayed one night, but it was conviently close to the meeting place for the tour with Loch Ness Centre. The bed was comfortable enough and everything was clean. No complaints.

When we arrived to the hotel, there was no one there. The beds themselves were ok, but my friend found a dead spider in her bed. The room had quite a few cobwebs/spiders. There was also mold in the shower/bathroom. We were very glad to only have one night here. Best thing about the hotel is the proximity to other places.

Great location and excellent restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Very much let down by the really non-existant sound proofing between rooms. I heard 2 gents talking, and later snoring, on one side, and the lady the other side having her bath!

Difficult to find . Picture of the hotel on website was misleading. Reception was a poky desk just inside the main entrance . No one there initially. Booked 2 rooms for 1 night(27th July). Checked and was told we were staying in 2 lodge rooms. Lodges conjure up in my mind comfortable accommodation with a pleasant outlook. This was not the case. On opening the door to one of the rooms I was met with a foul smell of damp . The walls were clad in dark wood which made the place very uninviting. The bathroom also had an awful smell and the carpet in there was dirty. The second lodge was exactly the same. After discussion we decided not to stay the night. I’m no snob but just couldn’t sleep in those conditions. We lost our money but it didn’t matter. This place is in need of an urgent update to bring it up to an acceptable standard. Incidentally we found lovely clean accommodation about 10 miles up the road.

Nice hotel but noisy..sounds like heating or water pipes and not the Scottish type. Did advice and said they cannot hear anything.. between 9pm and 10pm and 7.30 to 8 am .. loud in the room (18). However, nice room and bathroom. Beds a bit soft. View comes with a camera on the opposite building that hopefully doesn't look in the room ?. Good location for an overnight stay. Free carpark. Restaurant not fancy but the pizza was good.

The room was beautiful and clean, the bathroom seemed brand-new and in perfect shape. Liquid soaps and shampoo all from local Soap Company, high quality and very eco-friendly! Only downside was it's poorly soundproofed; you hear your neighbours talk (normal voice level) and their bathroom extractor fan rumble in the middle of the night whenever anyone visits the loo with lights on.

The hotel is adorable and in a prime location! Staff were friendly and checking in and out was convenient. My only low score is because the walls are super thin and depending on your neighbors you may hear more than you want. I softly knocked on the wall and my neighbors quieted down but I could still hear them, their conversation and their phone calls who were on speaker phone. Despite that, I would stay there again and just be prepared for potentially loud neighbors.

This was a great place to stay. When we first arrived the gentleman at the desk was very friendly and gave us an upgraded room and loads of information about the hotel and everything to do in the area. The room was spacious and clean and updated. The walls are very thin and be warned the room next door will hear everything! Even so it was a comfy place to stay. Breakfast was ok, but the female staff were rude and even huffed at me. Oh well… maybe they were having a bad day. The shops were great and had all the souvenirs I was looking for. They went above and beyond to help me pick out the perfect whisky. We loved the little gin distillery. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

The welcome was lovely our room was ready early so they managed to allow using early. Which was so appreciated . Donald the manager and the team cannot do enough for you. Kyle was excellent at the bar on our first two evenings and he sorted out our room TV in minutes, after I had managed to mess it up? The food is very good particularly in the evening,we had the fish and chips on our last night . The house keeping is excellent very helpful staff and the rooms were lovely. It's a lovely village a perfect location to enjoy Loch Ness and we will be back . Thank You

Just returned from a week in Scotland and used the Loch Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel as a base whilst backpacking the Affric Kintail Way over 4 days. Fantastic service provided all round by Donald and his team. From allowing me to park my car there for 4 days while completing my multi day walk to providing plenty of useful information about the area and things to do. On finishing my walk, I'd planned to stopover one night and return home.I decided last minute to stay for 2 nights to rest up and Donald booked me into a lovely room which was just what I needed after 4 days in a backpacking tent. He and his staff couldn't do enough to make me feel welcome and the food in the restaurant was excellent too. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking at staying in and around Loch Ness.

The superb team at the Drum were warm, welcoming and very tolerant 😅 Thanks especially to Kyle & Josh. Great food, drink and service. Super-clean rooms and the full scottish breakfast was a daily highlight.

Staff was helpful and communicative. We caught on a closed road, and realized we weren't going to make check in, we looked at our phone to contact them, and they had already reached out before check in closed and made arrangements for us. Took a load off while sitting in traffic. Breakfast (for a charge) was delicious. Staff and property were great.

The hotel was next door to the Exhibition Centre and within easy walking distance of the village. The room was comfortable and clean . It was good to have the cafe downstairs. Chief drawback...no lift for use when taking suitcase up and down

We booked as it's close to Urquhart Castle and was competitively priced. Comfortable bed and very quiet room. Found it difficult to locate the property as the exterior signage doesn’t match the exact name of the property on the booking.

Very comfortable room. Shame about evening dining! Told on checking in we could eat in the Bistro but when we went down later we were turned away saying there was a private party and no tables for an hour, no warning previously, no signs to indicate.

On arrival (mid October), I was advised that there was no restaurant service other than breakfast, and no bar. Room was clean and fresh, however I discovered a used towel on the radiator behind the Bathroom door. TV worked fine, but there was no remote. Bathroom fan worked well but was noisy, so may have upset neighbours, (electric) shower worked well, but was also quite noisy. It is clear that this is a seasonal hotel. And the season had ended, so few staff. Disappointing, as it could have been good I think if all the resources had been available.

Great place to stay right by Loch Ness. The museum is wonderful, don't skip it! Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant was tasty. The short (less than 5 minute) walk to the "touristy" part of town for dinner one night and to check out the local shops is easy and beautiful. Our room was spotless, the check in process was painless and the staff were very helpful. We booked the wrong room (thanks a lot Expedia) and they quickly got us a room that was right for us and our big dog. Could use some new mattresses, and the water pressure in the shower was not great, still managed to get clean so thats what matters. Definitely plan on staying here again.

Such a great property with a cottage-like vibe. The shopping onsite was fantastic and the restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Restaurant (Cobbs) easily accommodated my GF/celiac diet. Definitely recommend staying here.

No mention of winter hours when booking. We visited for business so we were up early and expecting breakfast but it didn’t open until 9am(1 hour after we had to be in work) so had to find breakfast elsewhere. Also, no mention of the restaurant being shut for the winter so had to find out evening meals at different locations. Reception didn’t open until 9am either so had to wait around to check out in the morning. Overall, disappointed but the room was as expected for the price.

This is an expensive area and this place is one of the cheaper hotels. The restaurant food was variable. The salmon on pea risotto was very good while the lemon tart was very forgettable. The staff were very good.
