I have only taken it down to 4 star because the rooms are a little depressing, The redeeming feature is the most wonderful Onsen and all the little freebies when travelling with kids, my daughter loved the free ramen. It’s just a lovely welcoming place and first impressions certainly didn’t count here. It was truly fabulous stay due to the Onsen.

We stayed here for six nights and had a great experience overall. The staff were friendly, the amenities were excellent, and the onsen was a real highlight. We especially enjoyed the complimentary ramen, ice cream, and soft drinks in the evening. The massage chairs were a nice touch, and the room felt quite spacious by Japan standards. The sheets were comfortable, and having fresh towels every day was appreciated. Overall, this was noticeably better than other standard Dormy Inns we’ve stayed at in the past. Our only real complaint was the rock-hard pillows, which caused some back discomfort and that housekeeping is not offered for the entirety of the stay unless you pay $15 each time it is requested. Also, a small suggestion: the same 8-bar loop of background music plays constantly throughout the hotel and can get a bit repetitive after a while. That said, the hotel offers excellent value for the price, and we’d happily stay here again.
