Motel 6 Indianapolis Carmel

This review Will be long, but it’s worth the read. First off if you’re looking for frills, this is not the place. If you’re looking for a good hotel for an amazing price in Indianapolis, this is absolutely the place. No breakfast no pool . The entire lobby is under construction. You have to check in on a kiosk with a live person which is a little different but it’s fine. There are hotel employees around that will assist you. But check-in is done strictly through the kiosk. The hotel is old and they are doing renovations, but the price is unmatched for what you get. My room had two beds and was very large as was the bathroom. The floors are laminate with no carpeting. The bathroom was big, but there is no sink area to place items. No hair dryer or shampoo. Small soaps. . The water pressure from the shower was great! Large TV on the wall and space to hang clothes and put folded clothes, also a bench area near the window. Air-conditioning work fine but at times if I turned the temperature up, it felt like the heat turned on. Beds were comfortable as were pillows. I did see two small bugs in my room, but they were not bedbugs. They were flying. They possibly came in when I did, it’s summertime so it was really no big deal. The area is ok and everyone was super friendly, there was no yelling or loud music. I did smell marijuana one night for about five minutes then it completely dissipated. If you can deal with these things for a night or two or three, it’s worth it.

Good stay for the money. At this time, the lobby and hallways are being renovated, but the rooms are finished. It's a cheaper motel, so it's not the fanciest, but nice for Motel 6. The new front light wasn't working, but the A/C did excellent, everything else worked, and the bathroom was great too. This is the third Motel 6 I have stayed at that you don't want to be barefoot in all the time. It's not filthy, but the floor's dirty enough to mark your feet. I got what I was looking for, just a bed and shower on the way to somewhere else. They also have the new AI kiosk out front now too, not a fan but it worked out.

Great stay This hotel has easy access to parking lot. There is a good.security with full of lights cameras inside and outside The service is good with hot water and nice ventilation

They were under construction and there was no one there in person so we checked in and out with a machine. I never felt un safe by any means but it was still startling to walk in and see a missing wall. I’d have appreciated an email heads up that construction was happening. Other than that the room was good and the area was nice.

construction during visit but stay was acceptable for my needs; easy access to Butler University; felt safe at all times both in hotel and in the neighborhood. Minimal contact with staff. No opportunity to get ice as construction in progress during the visit.

The hotel was under construction in the front of the Orel. It was very very hot outside about 93 degrees and the hotels ice machine and microwave was not working. I felt due to the inconvenience the hotel had caused they should have provide FREE ice and water for the guest staying in the hotel. It was not our fault that the hotel had construction taking place at the hotel.

The hotel is under renovation. Despite this, we had a good night. The room was very clean. Definitely worth the price!

There was semen on one of the seats by the window. They offered me another room, but I refused, as I didn’t feel comfortable staying. I requested a cancellation, but it was denied since they had offered an alternative room. I have photos and video evidence, but I won’t post them publicly out of respect for the employees.

The hotel is an older hotel with updated rooms. The rooms are clean and simple. The lobby was kind of gross. The staff was always very friendly and helpful.

You check in at a kiosk, no in-person contact, with a face of a person (Alex) on a screen. Every other word dropped out over the speaker. ???? What on earth is wrong with a person behind a desk???! The room looked clean. But the fans! The bathroom light/fan is on motion Every time you stepped in the bathroom the fan roars so LOUD, louder than a jet taking off. Awful. With no way to have a light without a fan. Yet, while in the shower, the light and fan shut off. Open the shower curtain and wave your hand. Soooo dumb. It must be on a timer. I picked up the fabric shower mat on the floor, full of dirt on the bottom. I was standing off in bare feet after exiting the shower mat. Yuck. The air conditioner fan, next to the bed, roars and on high, clangs. They is a damaged spot in the wood floor by the bed and would rip your foot on a misstep. (Photos) I covered with a washcloth. The attempt to be AI and modern misses dozens of steps in customer service. There were also barking dogs down the hall at 3:00 am and people in the parking lot and down the hall talking at the top of their voices 3-4am. Beyond control of Motel 6.

Our room was very nice, updated and clean. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of outlets to charge all electronics. The hallways and rooms beside us were quiet. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Pubic hairs on bed sheet so obviously not change after previous guest. The rest of the room was kind of clean.

Location is great; close to highway; lighting on the parking lot is great. Issues with the property: non-smoking but the hallways stink of smoke. Checking in and out is cold as interaction with staff is via video only.

Roach was in my first room, switched me to room next door. Didn’t see anymore roaches but that was enough for me to regret reserving and I could not get comfortable.

Very clean

Upkeep on the property was not good. In reviews I read before making the booking it said rooms were renovated. The renovations were not very good and the floors were dirty. The window seat cushion was stained badly and there was hair and dirt on it. The room served its purpose for a one night stay, but I will never stay there again.

Decent low budget lodging. The beds were stiff as boards and pillows were very thin.

Building outdated. Could hear everything through walls.

The room was small, but clean The biggest down fall is the walls are paper thin, you can hear everyone in the hallway and everyone was super loud at 3 am. Would recommend because of that

Under construction. Barebones room. No refrigerator or coffee pot. No breakfast or even coffee in the morning. It was just a room and adequate for my needs.

Very friendly check in staff, and convenient location just off the interstate. However there were too many small issues for us to consider using this location again. In June in a heatwave, the air conditioning was not on in the room when we arrived, and the west facing window was wide open to full sunshine. The sign on the unit says to use the thermostat on the wall yo control the unit, but that didnt wotk at all. Thankfully the controls on the actual unit did work. So we turned on the a/c full-blast and went out for a couple hours. The television worked, but neither the channel guide nor the casting app did. Not that we would've been able to hear the TV over the noisy air conditioning unit.

Room was ok. Lots of road noise from the street nearby. Bath exhaust fan was extremely noisy and would come on automatically when you walked in. Onsite staff was pleasant but did not like the checkout with remote person thru the computer.

Nice update rooms. Very clean. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice The room broke the typical stereotype of a Motel 6.

Customer service at desk, kiosk is poor. The TV wasn't working and after unpacking, we were moved to a different room. Hard copy of the receipt was not given while checking out. Charges for Expedia was billed to me. $ 40 security deposit does not happen in any other hotel / motel I have stayed at.

Max, Mannie and Soma have alway been helpful since i began staying here. If i had any issues, they were quick to rectify the problem.

The check in process was just extremely long and tedious with the kiosk even though there was a man at the counter. Then after that long process I was sent to a room that was already occupied by another guest. That has never happened to me before in my life. I don’t understand how the rooms weren’t double checked. I finally got a second room at the very end of the second floor but after a short stay I left. I wanted some type of refund for the mix up but the man at the front desk didn’t seem to care too much. Just an awful experience.

The new owners have turned this hotel for the better. Friendly, accommodating and pleasant. Good job guys!

Made my reservation via hotels.com & paid in full with card. There was no front desk person, just a kiosk. The atmosphere was quite uncomfortable. Then they required a security deposit, at nearly the price of the room - that's quite excessive. When I refused, they would not cancel the reservation. They will not work with hotels.com to offer a refund as well. Let's say this chain is now on my never go to list again.

Comfortable bed, good rates, lots of restaurants, close to entertainment!

I enjoyed my stay. The room was spotless and the bathroom was amazing. No noise and close to the expressway.

The staff were very nice and the process to check in was very quick. The area has a good number of restaurants within walking distance. The room itself was also comfortable, though there was a bit of a musty smell when I first entered. Overall I had a good experience staying here for a night.

Decent motel in a safe area. Clean and affordable

I will say this was one of the nicer Motel 6 units I have stayed in. The room had everything I needed and there were several nice upgrades in the room and the bath. The common areas, however, were not upgraded and more typical of a lower priced motel. A bit more attention to detail was needed in the bathroom remodel (no molding and bad caulking). Overall, however, I would give this Motel 6 an 8 out of 10 rating. It was conveniently located with easy access from the freeway.

Requested rm on back side got front. No biggie. But the noise from the road and the parking lot made it impossible to sleep. Left after only 3 hours. Water in showr barely warm. Stain on cushion on windows. Wouree. Mack was very nice behind desk though. Not even partial refundldn't stay here again if it was f

The area seemed fine where it is located. No frills. No breakfast I’m ok with that. The room itself is updated nicely will give it a B+ on workmanship. Beds very comfortable. It’s a really nice room for the price point. Will stay here again.

Quiet, great dining options, staff was super friendly

Our check-in was easy and quick. Having it done via a remote clerk was new for us but we didn’t mind. The room was on the small side but clean, as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and the window seat made up for the lack of other furniture to sit on. The only real negatives were the 3 patches on walls where repairs had been made but not painted, and a window screen ripped half way off. The location is good -close to shopping and several restaurants. We have another reservation in a few weeks and hope we’ll get a “finished” room. It is a good deal for the cost.

Simple hotel- way of the future?: No fridge, microwave, hair dryer, shampoo, bfast. Heat & AC are controlled at wall so can't have fan running.Bathroom light also on sensor.

Was a good value for a clean room & nice bathroom but coffee was down & nothing in room like coffee maker, microwave or fridge

This is an old hotel that is gradually being upgraded. The room and hallway on my floor were clean but the lobby and outside are not too great. There is no breakfast or even coffee.
