Staff & service couldn’t fault. The Spa is looking tired! Towels are a bit small & thin. We wasnt informed we needed a £1 for the locker! The sauna wasn’t working but we was informed afterwards we could have let them know as it switches itself off & they could switch it back on! If we were notified of this we could have checked to see if it was working before we were soaking wet from being in the pool & hot tub as we didn’t want to walk through the gym or pubic area in our swimwear to ask the receptionist. Maybe this should be checked periodically!!!

Great hotel, lovely breakfast, large comfortable beds and helpful staff. This hotel has parking which is a must for weekend stays and was an ideal location for an event we were attending, good transport links and lovely walks locally. We would stay here again 5*, we visited for a 3 night weekend stay.

Stayed here a few times now, Ideal location for going to Nottingham Forest FC, restaurant does some nice food and the breakfast is excellent. My only gripe is I really wish the rooms had air con as they get very warm in the summer. The gym facilities are excellent.

2nd time staying. room lovely and comfy, a couple of black long hairs in the bathroom, deffo not ours as we are both blonde, both times i’ve stayed here jacuzzi was freezing, the little pool wasn’t that warm either, sauna was a nice touch, person that checked in and out was nice, person that checked us in for breakfast i found rude at times, customer service needs working on, our room was meant to be superior but im not sure it was, as i stayed in a comfort before and it appeared to be the same standard except for a king size bed

Always a pleasure staying at the Beeches hotel. Your Greeted by friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and tidy. I do recommend the king or queen rooms rather than the single and doubles. They are a upgrade and worth it. The gym and pool/sauna are a lovely relaxing treat. The breakfast buffet is worth it. Fills you up for the day. Free parking included. A new surprise from other stays was the location of the hotel, hidden behind the main road estate is a beauiful river and park that provides an relaxing walk away from the busy road. I will continue using beeches as my go to 2nd home when staying in that part of the country. Thanks

The sauna was seemingly turned on as we arrived in the pool. It took 2 hours to start to get to anywhere near temperature so wasnt really usuable. This affected quite a few people who wanted to use it Nothing to do with the hotel but roadworks were bad during our stay, and combined with football, it was 45 minutes to travel 2.5 miles by car

We liked the spa and gym this was the cleanest part of the hotel. The room we had was very small and the bathroom was grubby with a cracked sink and grim in the shower cubicle. The walls must have been thin because we could hear someone snoring in a neighbouring room. There was also coming and going from a neighbouring room at 2pm. Not a relaxing stay.

Nice enough hotel. Comfy and cosy. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. But the rooms and some communal areas need updating. There was a dreadful smell in the lift and 2nd floor hallway, which didn’t seem to go away overnight (it got worse). Just needs a bit of a spruce-up. As with all hotels - vegan options for hot breakfast were very limited, which is frustrating when we pay the same rate as the meat eaters (but this is a problem in most hotels).

Very clean room and bathroom. Fresh decoration, breakfast was OK but a little dry as it had been sitting out for guests for a while. Service was very friendly for the whole stay. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Nice hotel, changed from room 11 due to damp, noise and the main rubbish bins outside the window, room 5 very large and much better, this is not a group hotel but sufficient, soft close doors would be good and TV volume limits as I could hear clearly a room 3 doors away both in corridor and in my room, breakfast limited choice but nice, ample free parking, all staff friendly, this hotel is much better than the village which is around the corner

Convenient for the city centre and great that it’s got on-site parking. The food was “okay” for breakfast but the crockery and cutlery were not clean - there was evidence of food remnants. Also, our room stank heavily of chlorine for cleaning we thought. Had to have the windows open for a long period of time even for it to be breathable. I generally get an allergic reaction to chlorine so it spoilt the room and stay for us. Mentioned problems to reception and wasn’t given an apology but more of a justification that the smell could have been coming up from the pool/spa area. They did say they’d pass on the feedback, but an apology would have been welcomed. Expected better having booked the junior suite as well. Not impressed I’m afraid.

Our room was very hot and the fan that was having to be on constantly to move the air in the room to not make it hotter was loud and very ineffective at cooling the room down. It felt like the radiators were on maximum heat without actually being on in reality. I dont know whether the rooms below are very hot and so the heat is rising into the room but we were unable to cool it down. We had a very bad nights sleep as a result. The food and service was good and the pool and spa looked clean. I would say that installing dispensers for people to have hair and body gel would be good as they are separate shower and changing facilities for men and women and people may not have duplicates of toiletteries. For the price and 4 stars I would have expected the rooms to be of a higher quality of temperature regulation.

I paid for a single room but was not expecting to be put in a room where you could hear the kitchen extractor fan. I called reception and they told me that it would not be switched off until 9pm and then it would start again in the morning for breakfast. I asked to be moved to another room, which they did but nobody should be put in room 35. The noise was unbearable. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

This is not a 4 star, do not expect 4 star. Pool and gym are great, staff are friendly, rooms are clean enough, beds are comfy and linen is good. So if you want a no frills, it’s ok. Bad points: No A/C and a tiny window, so baking hot room, walls are paper thin, I had to listen to next door and upstairs ablutions (plop plop) everyday and you hear EVERYTHING from the adjoining room, shower vent is totally inadequate. Ok, very bad bit - the internet is totally useless, I stayed for 5 days and ended up working from McDonald’s and Starbucks during the day and tethering to my phone at night. I understand metered connections blah blah, but when you can’t even send a 4mb email without continuously dropping out, it just not good enough. Sorry guys.

A lovely, traditional independent hotel. Feels recently refurbished. Room was spacious and modern. Spotless throughout. Warm and genuine staff. Modern gym and pool. Sauna needs attention - the floor and seats get dangerously hot, couldn’t put feet on the floor! Restaurant excellent. Lost a star due to very poor noise insulation between rooms.

Really disappointing stay. I was expecting a good night’s sleep, but the room was noisy due to constant traffic from the street outside. Cars passing by throughout the night made it impossible to sleep properly. I was woken at around 4 a.m. and couldn’t get back to sleep at all. I asked the night staff for earplugs, but they didn’t have any available and it was not possible for me to change the room, because there was no receptionist. I felt there was no adequate support for the guest. This lack of service is unworthy of a supposedly “4 Star” hotel. If rooms are affected by this level of noise, this should be clearly stated in the hotel information, so guests can make an informed decision. After checking other people reviews, I realised noise from the street is a significant problem in this hotel. I would strongly advise light sleepers to avoid staying here, at least not the room with the street view.

The menu was varied both at breakfast and in the evening. Well stocked bar. The room was very hot, even with the provided fan but the bed was comfortable. Kept having to log back in on the internet, which elderly relatives found very tiresome. It would have been useful to have more written information, such as a selection of tourist brochures.

Stayed here a few times now, very handy location for football and cricket, both easily within walking distance. Only gripe is rooms get very warm, especially in the summer and the fans don’t do a lot, air conditioning would be much appreciated.

The hotel was lovely- very clean and tidy. We didn't eat there only stayed overnight. I have to say that the night staff (especially Ryan and the lovely bar man whose name I don't know) couldn't have been more helpful. The day staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful and feel they need some customer service training. However, I would definitely stay there again as the location was perfect.

My stay at the beeches hotel and leisure club was fantastic. The staff on check in were super friendly and could not have made me feel more welcome. The room was lovely and had everything I needed bed was super comfortable. The reception staff throughout my stay could not have been more helpful.

Very odd place with strange staff. The coffee machine at breakfast only served caffeinated coffee but I can only drink decaff. I asked the waitress if I could have a decaff coffee to which she said I would have to pay as otherwise she would get in trouble. This is discrimination. The hot food buffet was not kept full, there were lots of angry people conplaining. I went to the pool and asked for 2 towels as I wanted to use the sauna and you have to sit on one. The receptionist said she couldn't give me 2 as she would get in trouble. Everytime I asked for anything it was always these odd responses about getting in trouble. Staff are useless and always seem to reference getting in trouble if they did anything that wasnt pre approved by management. Golf was good but the hotel do not look after you at all ans make you verg uncomfortable. There are much better places around the country for golf weekends. I wouldn't go back here again.

Always a pleasure staying at the Beeches hotel. Your Greeted by friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and tidy. I do recommend the king or queen rooms rather than the single and doubles. They are a upgrade and worth it. The gym and pool/sauna are a lovely relaxing treat. The breakfast buffet is worth it. Fills you up for the day. Free parking included. A new surprise from other stays was the location of the hotel, hidden behind the main road estate is a beauiful river and park that provides an relaxing walk away from the busy road. I will continue using beeches as my go to 2nd home when staying in that part of the country. Thanks

Thank you to the Saturday evening staff for adjusting a meal to be gluten free and the great service. All staff were very polite and attentive, a cerdit to the hotel. Great hotel, lovely breakfast, large comfortable beds and helpful staff. This hotel has parking which is a must for weekend stays and was an ideal location for an event we were attending, good transport links and lovely walks locally. We would stay here again 5*, we visited for a 3 night weekend stay.

The room was spacious but the small window made it seem a little gloomy. The bed was comfortable but the bedside lights were useless I had to use the torch function of my mobile to read in bed. There is no air conditioning so on hot days the room gets uncomfortably hot. A large fan was provided but is rather noisy. The location is very good for walking to cafés, the Trent, football and cricket grounds and for longer walks into Nottingham.

The property was nice and comfortable, but unfortunately the room we were in was hot and stuffy - it only has a tiny window which barley opened, and given the recent warm weather, despite a fan it was uncomfortable, and neither of us slept very well as a result. The food at the property was good, but there isn't really much around within easy walking distance.

Stayed here a few times now, very handy location for football and cricket, both easily within walking distance. Only gripe is rooms get very warm, especially in the summer and the fans don’t do a lot, air conditioning would be much appreciated.

If staying here for a week or more ask for a quiet room, I was facing the road and it's relentless, couldn't leave windows open, and it was a hot week, at night, trucks go by and the room shakes. Friendly enough staff, room serviced daily, free parking, free WiFi, breakfast was extra £12 per adult, evening food was fairly good. Small pool, hot tub and infrared sauna. Gym was ok as well.

This was a good functional stay. Room clean but dated. Bed very comfortable. Bathroom tired but clean. The spa was excellent. Staff could have been more cheerful. The fire alarm went off at 4 a.m.and as we prepared to leave our room it stopped. No one contacted us to reassure or apologise. We had breakfast. Poor breakfast experience. Poorly cooked bacon (how hard can it be?). Nasty coffee, a toaster that burns without cooking. Oh - and why can’t I have table service like a civilised food outlet? Surly staff member as well - argumentative rather than helpful. Shower good but has no shelf for shampoo etc and the floor of it is very slippy so bending over for shower gel is hazardous. The milk cartons on the tea tray were out of date. Check in was a bit surly too - “I already told you someone is on their way”. Beds comfy and good temperature rooms.

Breakfast buffet was great, restocked regularly, and we were seated quickly. We had dinner there on our second day, and the pork steak was the best Ive had, as was the chocolate sundae. The swimming facilities are clean and well lit, and aside from the discomfort of a random man watching me from the sauna the entire time my friend and I were there, it was a pleasant experience. We ended up leaving the pool because of the creeper and didn't go back. Luckily changing rooms are separated by gender so we didn't run into him again. Rooms are clean and comfy, the bar service is fast and staff are all friendly and have a smile on their faces. This will be our go to stay whenever we're in the area, even after the pool creeper incident

This was classed as a superior room but I could not use desk for computer work as knees could not go underneath. Only other chair in room very small and for someone 6ft quite uncomfortable and again not used Dinner menu not extensive and several items not available at 7.30 but quality was good.

Room was clean and bed comfortable. A nice touch having an iron and ironing board in the room as well as some soap and shower gel/shampoo.. I also appreciated the biscuits. Disappointed that there was nothing available to eat after 9 pm and breakfast was a bit limited. Nevertheless, good value for money

Nice clean hotel with good facilities. Only negative we would have appreciated an early breakfast as it starts quite late at 8am and we had to be on the road by 7:30. A vending machine within the property for late night snacks and drinks would also have been welcome.

The room and facilities were spotlessly clean and well maintained andthestaffwereveryfriendlyandhelpful, we had evening meal in the restaurant and the food was tasty and nice and hot. The only thing that would really benefit the hotel is air conditioning but the windows did open for fresh air and a fan was provided in the room. All in all an excellent stay.
