Room and meal in evening good. Bit noisy in evening as party was going on in events room.

Large clean family room, reception staff really helpful on check-in, good menu in bar/pub, be wary of parties if using as a stop-over - there was loud music until late.

Nice hotel ideal for my visit to the NEC. Staff all very nice. It looks like the rooms have been recently decorated so a shame updating the furniture a little didn’t feature. The bar area is nice and comfy though.

Parking was easy, nothing to pay if you were staying over..No lift so I requested help with my case up the stairs. A pleasant older man carried my case upstairs and told me to request help when leaving. I went to reception to request help with my case next mornig. I was asked to sit and wait. After I'd waited 15mins and no one came. I slid my case down the stairs, it wasn't easy. I had a good nights rest. My bed was very clean, room was fresh and my bed was very comfortable. The price of £47 I paid, was fair. I didnt have breakfast. Some areas require attention. Location is good for sightseeing and airport.

Hotel was fine but i was disgusted at the potential to be fined for bringing any outside food or alcohol into my room.. Having paid a sizeable amount to stay at the hotel, I have never seen anything like it and it really left a sour taste. I would never go back and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to stay if that is how you’ll be treated. I was actually going to dine in the on-site restaurant but made a point of going out elsewhere for my meals so I didn’t have to give the place any more of my money.

Tidy room, easy parking and friendly staff

Overall it was fine. Some minor maintenance issues with the bathroom - the cold tap on the basin dripped, the washer was missing between shower hose and head, and there was no plug on the basin. We reported these when we checked out but they didn't get written down. They're all things which housekeeping should have picked up on and reported. There was also no hairdryer in the room (we only stayed one night so only realised after emerging from the shower on the morning we were leaving) but I'm sure they would have found one if we'd asked. To be fair, I forgot to mention that on checkout. The thing that affected our stay most was the loud music in the bar and restaurant and outside. We had planned to dine there but the music was so loud that, having asked where the quietest spot was and been directed to one end of the bar where it was just as loud as everywhere else, we went somewhere else to eat instead (there are lots of places nearby). It wasn't bad music - just far too loud - at a lower volume it would have been quite pleasant. You couldn't relax over a meal or hold a normal conversation. There were lots of signs forbidding the consumption of food and drink from elsewhere in the rooms, which was quite unusual and implied that they had had a problem with this. I can't help wondering if this was partly because people had intended to eat in the bar/restaurant but also been put off by the volume of the music so got a takeaway and eaten it in peace in their rooms.

After check in I went to my room and was hit by a nasty smell. Lovely young woman on reception got me moved immediately with no quibble. Hotel was great. Loads of parking. Good bar and restaurant. Comfortable bed and generally very quiet. Friendly helpful staff. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

I have stayed here before and it has always been better than this time. The room was ok, but the bathroom was not. There was an old tampon left in the bin and it stank of urine.

Bathroom wasn’t clean there was lots of hair. Loved the staff and the look of the hotel it was absolutely ideal! Would stay again

The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was good. I can't fault them at all. They were lovely. The room itself was clean but very tired. It needs updating. The bathroom had water marks around the bathroom units, mould in the shower and around the bath, and peeling wallpaper. the bathroom was the biggest issue for me. It didn't feel clean

Good location for what we needed, bed and bathroom were both clean however the carpets were very worn and dirty, the shower door didnt close properly and the shower head didnt fit it the holder. The general cleanliness in the bar area was poor and a very strong smell of curry around the reception area at all times. The glass doors were very dirty showing that regular cleaning is not a priority. Unfortunately i would not recommend or stay again, this is a shame as the hotel is a in a great setting, and a lovely building, but is need of some refurbishment

Not a good experience. Toilet/bathroom was smelly. Skirting board coming off the wall. Not the cleanest. Access card to room didn’t work and wasn’t fixed.

Room was acceptable. Grouting in shower cubicle was ingrained with mould, shower tray had dirty stain around the drainage area. No shelves to put soap or shampoo. Cold tap in wash basin leaks. One of the wall lights didn't work. Staff were not attentive - we asked for a hairdryer which didn't materialise, also likewise an extra pillow.

It's a very tired Hotel. Needs an upgrade to justify the cost. No TV remote in room. Heater starting to rust and signs of mold in shower area. Won't be staying here again. Location is good.

Got there and there was a very bad smell in the room. (Bad drainage smell) there was signs of damp on the walls loads of water marks on walls. No bedside lamps so had to have main light on. I decided to book somewhere else still waiting on refund

Nice top floor room. Very clean as was the bathroom. Nice view out across fields. Plenty of tea and coffee. Only thing to spoit it was the thin wall and creaky floor.

We stayed in room 41 It must have been over the kitchen i was woken with banging and crashing every hour through the night i was totally shattered in the morning Its a shame because i stayed before over the other side of the building and all was good hence why i returned but unfortunately would put me off now in case i got the same noisy room again

Staff are good, room clean, lovely shower. Only slight drawbacks are squeaky floors and thin walls, so sleep can be disturbed if the neighbours are ‘active’…

I couldn’t sleep as the floors are so creaky and it seemed someone above was tiptoeing the whole night . I don’t understand why a full breakfast wouldn’t have coffee/tea included in it

Sleep was interrupted. The floors creak so much (same reportedly with friends rooms in other floors)... so much so that someone walking across the floor next door made me think someone else was in the room. Same with corridor as people walked back from a night out... even if they were quiet the floors were so loud. Bathroom was quite basic and cheap. Hotel was nicely situated for the NEC. Staff were friendly. Bar area was nice, although we were kicked out from the room when the bar closed, so no communal area you could chat with friends until later. Nice village.

Staff were lovely and the food was fab. The room was a bit tired though. Could hear people in the room above walking around and was very loud, woke me up at 3am.

Not great! Smelly carpets and very dated rooms! The mattress’s need throwing away.. terrible! The room above floor was soo noisy as they walked around not pleasant. Would not recommend. Sorry!!

Squeaky floorboards meant a disturbed night. The staff are excellent but overall the hotel is tired a needs updating. The food was good.

Would have been perfect except for the creaky floors. Really spolts a nice place to stay. I was on the top floor but even then you could hear people walking around.

We had an overall great stay! The manager was lovely! Unfortunately some of the bar staff not so much. We had a starter missed off our food and we asked for the baby’s meal to come out with the starters. Which did not happen even though we were told this was fine. There was no apology for the missing starter or for the fact the baby’s food did not come out. They were just dumped in the table. I think this let the place down a little. As the staff in the evening were generally not as good as in the morning. Although the man with black hair (pattern on the side) was very helpful through our whole stay. In the morning we were given some toast before all the breakfast came out for the baby. Which we thought was lovely and very helpful! The food was however amazing and the prices were so reasonable! Would definitely recommend eating here! The beds were not very comfortable and there was an odd spell in the rooms but we asked for some air fresheners (as saw these in other rooms) and this helped. Our shower was also broken but my partner had just got back from work so just used it although not great! Overall would recommend for the price!

Check in was an absolute nightmare. Rooms booked that I hadn't. Told that it was expedias responsibility not the hotels. Breakfast was ok but not quite to menu provided. Staff fairly helpful.

Excellent staff, clean room, happy hour!

Cheap for a reason! No sound proofing, every person in the corridor sounded like they were coming into your room. Could hear full conversation from the person in the room next door. Staff were uninterested in guests. No breakfast available the first morning and had to ask for my money back.

Staying in the hotel itself was fine. the issue arose trying to get fed in the restaurant. sat down at 7pm and food didn't arrive until after 9. restaurant wasn't terribly busy so not really much excuse for it. the big red flag was the extremely poor attitude of the "manager" who was extremely dismissive and argumentative and lacked any sort of understanding as to why we were unhappy. the excuse of "well I cant help the public, can I?" we wernt the only complaint that night as another 2 tables complained. If I was to go back I wouldn't use the Restaurant.

Staff excellent, room comfortable, food excellent and Happy Hour!

The hotel is in a beautiful semi rural setting with plenty of free safe parking. The rooms although a little dated are comfortable , clean and with good ammenities. The hotels bar is welcoming and pleasant with friendly staff and good choices of drinks and food. Alex and another young chap ( not sure I got his name) were working the nights I was there. They were very friendly a great front for the hotel. My criticisms would be the walls are incredibly thin and I could hear talking and coughing from next door and in my last night someone was snoring so loud I was unable to sleep. Although I found most of the staff friendly and welcoming the lady and gentlemen who I encountered at reception on checkout did not leave a good lasting impression on me. Hardly gave me the time of day. Gentlemen never even looked at me. Was a shame after a great stay.

Friendly staff clean room bed a little firm but slept ok great location a few miles off the M42 plenty of other places to eat in the area if you didn't want to eat there would definitely stay again

We stayed here on Friday 10th March to Saturday 11th for Crufts. It was a little tricky to see the sign in the dark but pulled in just after to get back into the car park. It is only 15-20 mins to the NEC so nice and quick. The location is in a village so it's very peaceful locally. Check in was simple and easy and our room was very spacious (king room) and decorated nicely. Bed was really comfy and shower very powerful and hot too. Loved the decor throughout the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was great; lots of variety and very tasty. Only slight negative was that our room was above the bar so we could hear the music a little through the floor until about 11pm.

The bathroom had limited cold water, meaning that sometimes you’d turn the tap on and there would be no water. The shower also only had hot water running with limited pressure. The service and timings for food in the restaurant was also poor. Served uncooked chips and steak blue when asked for medium

The property was quite nice, very tired though. The evening meals were reasonable, but the breakfast was quite poor.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful but unfortunately that's as good as gets. Although the room was clean and fairly well presented, there was no tea or milk left, something we was desperate for after returning after a long tiring day. Although we knew the hotel hires function rooms out , we wasn't expecting a party in one of these to go on till 1am with music thumping , probably didnt help that our room was right above it. Breakfast was advertised as buffet style , it wasn't. You get a full English and thats it, this was good quality but the lack of fruit juice etc did disappoint.

Convenient for NEC. 'Double bed' was actually two singles of different heights joined together which was not so comfortable. Excellent breakfast cooked to order. Plenty of drawers and hanging space in room. Personally, I don't like piped loud music while I'm eating breakfast - I prefer Radio 4 in the mornings.
