Room was comfortable with a really comfortable bed, but noisy facing the waterfront. Parking was difficult - we arrived at 4pm, but the lot was full due to a conference, so had to park on the street. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is great - walkable. Breakfast was less than lacklustre - the eggs Benedict was one of the worst I’ve ever had - hubbies bacon and eggs was fine.

Good spot close to downtown and George street. Room felt a bit damp but it is across the street from the port. Only real downside is parking is limited and you have to pay for a pass that may or may not be of use based on if the lot is full or not.

First, the positives - location (downtown area with access to numerous restaurants, the harbour, some quaint shops), room was spacious (junior suite), clean, staff were great from the front desk to dining). Internet was good. Bed relatively comfortable. Included breakfast was great. The negatives - minimal storage in the room, furniture not overly comfortable. Parking was extra and convenient but they provide parking to all that request it but have limited convenient parking. We encountered one evening where we had to park on the street because there were no parking spots left in the lot. This is normally a night issue but it changed the way we went out at night using taxis instead of our rental car. An easy fix for the hotel to maintain #’s of active parking permits and not sell beyond capacity. We were also there during a busy week but no excuses. Overall, good stay but could be better.

Very nice. Fast and simple check in/out, friendly staff. Nice clean room with everything expected. Only wish windows would open for fresh air. Parking is convenient but limited spaces make it a bit stressful if arriving late.

Frequent visitors to St. John’s but we had never stayed here. That said it was a very busy time in St. John’s: end of Easter Break and lots hockey tournaments. We stumbled on this place just due to availability. It’s our new favourite in St. John’s. If there is a single strike, it’s parking. Right downtown parking is a mess. There’s a lot across the street but it’s not free. That said the hotel does give a voucher for it.

Overall our stay was fine. The location of the hotel is ideal for walking to restaurants and to Signal Hill. It’s clean and the restaurant in the hotel is convenient and has a great view of Signal Hill and the harbour. The staff at the hotel were all friendly. We became a little frustrated with how things work in terms of housekeeping especially with how much we were paying for the room. We are normally used to having our do not disturb on in the morning while we get ready when staying at a hotel and then taking it off, going out for the day and then returning to a serviced room. We discovered on our first day this was not the case when we returned to our room and had to go down and ask several times for more coffee for the next morning and toilet paper before we received any. Every day of our stay we had to speak to the front desk to ask for our room to be serviced and sometimes still had to go down to the front desk to ask for coffee refills. It kind of felt like if we weren’t out of our room by 8:30am then we would have to coordinate getting our room serviced. It just took a bit away from our stay that we constantly had to be thinking about this. We often stay at Marriott owned hotels and had never encountered this before. I would recommend the hotel but be aware that things may not operate as they do in other hotels (or at least they didn’t for us).

The room was lovely. Clean and fresh. Room service was perfect and prompt. The only thing, which was really nothing major, was that Expedia did not communicate to the hotel that breakfast was purchased with the room. Front desk weren’t aware of that until I asked about them. Overall a wonderful stay.

The location of this property is pretty good. Within walking distance to shops and lots of eateries. The woman who greeted us on our first night (of 15) was very sweet! Unfortunately I didn't get her name. The restaurant staff were very friendly. Restaurant is expensive. We were told that our room would be cleaned on the 3rd day and then every 2nd day. With that being said, the stained carpet in our room, wasn't vacuumed for 8 days! They left us 3 towels, we repeatedly had to ask front desk for an extra. We are two people who shower every day. We are not people who would normally say anything, but the the housekeeping wasn't up to the standards that a courtyard Marriott usually has. We left a note at the front desk and they did apologize and assured us that we would see improvement, which we did. With that being said, it doesn't dismiss the stained carpets and odours in the hallways. We were in the older section of the hotel. The website offered robes, we didn't have any in our 1 bedroom suite. (Which was about 270 a night)Breakfast was not included. There was a Keurig in the room, had to go down and ask for sugar, which they replenished randomly. So, would I stay here again? Absolutely not. All my ramblings may sound petty but this was our first vacay in 9 year I was expecting a little more from a Marriott hotel. Twillingate has a lovely B&B, The sunshine Inn! I would recommend that to everyone!!

We liked the location very much. A beautiful view of the harbour. I feel the room needs updating. It needs better amenities in the bathroom, like a magnifying mirror, face and body wash and separate walk-in shower and tub. Also the temperature control / air conditioning needs fine tuning, as it is very loud and freezing cold while cooling such a small room. It came on every 25 minutes throughout the night.

Excellent, friendly service from a phone call I made before check in to check in and check out. Staff were really friendly. The restaurant had lovely food and fabulous service. The hotel was beautiful with modern decore and stunning view from our room. Hotel was very clean. We will definitely return and we highly recommend!!

The staff were so helpful! The room was in excellent condition, the location is outstanding. Right in the heart of St. John’s. I spent a long weekend, and started my days with an early walk through the harbour and downtown area. It’s a working harbour! How best to see the ships coming in, the loading and unloading, the forklifts buzzing around.and then lots of dining nearby. Loved this stay.

The hotel was an excellent location, close to shops, restaurants. Terri at reception was amazing, Thank you. The biggest disappointment was the service in the restaurant ( Gian’s) it took almost 20 min. to order 3 coffees. Very disappointing.

Only one issue. Ordered breakfast to our room, asked for two coffees. Received one coffee and a tomato juice. Called to have order fixed, was delivered a coffee and told I would be charged for the tomato juice, which I never asked for. Told the room service personnel that I would not be paying for something which was delivered in error. I was surprised that this was even suggested.

Great hotel, location, views, service. Only downside was breakfast. Horrible prices for crappy quality, embarrassing for a Marriott. Eggs Benedict almost $20 for flavourless hollidaise sauce on soggy English muffin, gross. Supper was decent but again not for the high prices.

The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I was disappointed that there was not bath tub. My only complaint would be about the breakfast. Our server forgot to bring spoons and cream for our coffee. Worse still was the actual breakfast. I ordered the Newfoundland breakfast. It was supposed to come with eggs, fried bologna, hash browns, a fish cake, toutons, and baked beans. I was only initially given the eggs, bologna, and hash browns. I had to ask for the toutons, baked beans, and fish cake These all came separately after as if they forgot them in the order and only after I asked about them. Needless to say, we never dined at the hotel restaurant again.

The harbour view from pur room was outstanding! You could see Signal Hill and watch the boats coming and going. The restaurant was great, too. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there. We even had a lobster dinner one evening!

It's our second stay during our visit to St. John's. We received a very warm reception from the front desk staff. We ate at the hotel restaurant, Gian, for the first time. The fish and chips were delicious and the chicken fettuccine was superb. We enjoyed our stay and will come back.

Just ok. Vanity items were minimal. Bars of soap so small they would have fallen down the drain. Speaking of drains, following a short shiwer, tub would fill halfway and take a half hr to drain. Outlet near the bed didn't work. I wondered why the digital clock wasnt on when we walked in..Staff were great. Our last day, breakfast was unavailable because the cook didnt show up, so restaurant didnt open. Would not stay there again although good location
