All the staff we came in contact with were all so friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfy. Breakfast was excellent, parking was free which is something you don’t find very often. Only issue is the swimming pool changing rooms, one shower, one changing cubical so not practical if busy. Overall tho I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Torquay, we would defo stay again

Very nice older/traditional style hotel in a lovely position. Outdoor pool was perfect for the kids. Good walking distance into Torquay also - kids managed it fine, twice there and back! Great size family room. Would recommend.

We had a great stay at The Osborne hotel for New Year’s Eve, the location was perfect on the beach & a short (taxi ride) into town for dinner. The hotel was clean, staff very friendly & breakfast was good. The inside pool area was a little tired but I understand they were due to close for two months for some painting/refurb works. Would definitely go back, the children loved it

I had a lovely one night stay here. Its seafront location is perfect. It’s got a lovely bar, pools (indoor & outdoor) and an outside terrace. Staff are wonderful and offer a great service. I’ll be back for sure to stay longer next time.

Upon arrival the view is fantastic across the water at Torquey. There is ample parking around the hotel, by the entrance there is a lovely terrace and a good looking pool with the same views of the water. Checking in the staff were extremely polite and friendly. We booked an economy room because we were only there one evening but even the economy room was lovely and very clean.

The hotel was nice and clean the staff was very friendly and accomadating but i did have a issue with my safety deposit box i put my cards in and the box jammed i had to get the room steward to get my cards out Also i had no hot water for two days when i complained i was told i should have told maintance when i checked in but i thought all hot water was standard in most hotel The location of hotel was nice over looking the sea plus they had a 24/7 bar

Slightly disappointed with the standard of cleanliness in our room. One of the cups was dirty on the rim, thick dust on the room phone by the bed and bedside table, hairs in the bath and shelf in the bathroom. For a 4 star rating by the AA we would have expected to have had a duvet cover that hadn't come appart in several places. The wall paper in the room was also bubbled and seamed to be coming away from the wall in a couple of areas which spoilt our overall opinion. On the plus side the view and size of the room were great, the bed was very comfortable and there was ample space for all our clothes. The walk in shower was brilliant and the bath was a good size. All the staff were friendly and efficient. Out side around the pool and patio area was very well presented. Breakfast and room service evening meal was excellent. Overall we would stay here again.

Perfectly adequate. Pleasant staff. Room average, a bit dated. Interior a bit faded and tatty once out of reception. Breakfast ok, juice watered down but cooked breakfast fine. A lot of signs about parking a bit draconian and not very welcoming and reserving £150 on my card for incidentals also over the top. Overall nothing to complain about but quality and welcome feel is pretty poor

Fantastic views . Pool area could be kept cleaner and no toilet near so not the best for people with mobility issues . Breakfast was great till last day which was not eatable even after being sent back Room spacious and sea view great .

Hotel seems to be very under staffed, especially in the restaurant. At breakfast on the 3 morning of our stay it took 50 minutes to receive our hot food order which was only an omelet. on at least 3 mornings there most of been 35 plus guests in the restaurant with only 2 persons serving. Also the price charged for bed a breakfast does not reflect what you receive. the selection of food was very limited and it states a continental buffet breakfast but on 4 out of 5 mornings none of what you would expect to find was available (Standard selection of pastries etc.) I had pancakes one morning and it was obvious they where out of a microwave. they had been over heated and were hard. Some gusts on the neighboring table asked for pancakes with maple syrup & banana they were given pancakes with a pot of syrup and a whole banana un pealed on the side of the plate. they were slightly surprised that there was no real effort! Hate to say it but one of the lower budget chain hotels would offer a much better breakfast at a much cheaper rate. Also the heating was on full blast. we had to ask for the door and windows to be opened. Also a lot more detail and care needs to be taken with room cleaning, daily servicing and maintenance. Lots of dust found on lights and on top of TV. shower hose leaking, tap handle broken.

Had a lovely three night stay at this beautifully located Hotel. Staff were friendly & mainly efficient. Nice spacious room. A few things needed attention. Bath side panel, was very mouldy. A wonderful experience. Friendly staff, well kept gardens and spacious family rooms. Walk to the blue flag beach and explore the coves. Excellent for swimming.

We loved our stay with you. The hotel was so well kept and so clean everywhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and airy. I like the touch of water provided each day and the small packets of biscuits. We loved sun bathing by the swimming pool ,but some of the sunbeds could do with a good clean, which only takes seconds with a pressure washer. We wished we had a longer stay, but we work for several charities and don't have much free time to ourselves. My only complaint is the rather strange Restaurant Menu; lamb dumplings and pork chop marinated in Harissa ,Greek chicken gyros !. We are in Torquay ,not Athens ! Several guests were complaining to each other, as not happy with the menu ,not what you would expect from a hotel of this calibre. We hope to return soon for another relaxing break. please put us down on the list for any special offers etc.

Loved the room and the view, staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. One issue was that there was a wine stain on the carpet beside the bed, I reported it to the cleaning staff as I didn’t want them thinking it was our fault. They cleaned the room each day but did nothing about the stain on the carpet. The other issue was the water pressure, there was a lovely big bath but it took an age to fill up

The first night was awful. Wee were given a room which was over the kitchen and had the most awful humming noise all night long - we could not sleep. The obsosly have had complaints about this room in the past but seem to ignore them and continue to to put guests in there. After several complaints and phone calls while on our day trip out we finally got them to move us to an alternative room which was 100% better. Shame we could not have had this from the start. The problem with the room was compounded with the poor service in the restaurant on the evening. Both meals had important elements missing form them and when this was pointed out it was rectified, but not in a nice way. No onion rings and the no avocado in an chicken and avocado salad! After we finished we were left sitting at the table. nobody asked is about desert or coffee, in the end we had to get up and leave to get anybody attention. We booked this hotel for a very special birthday treat and spent more because it was rated 4 star, even though it is in a lovely position and the hotel is nice, it was not the experience we had hoped for and left feeling very disappointed.

The Osborne Hotel is in a beautiful location, right on the coast. Our hotel room was extremely clean and very comfy. The only downside was that early in the morning there seem to be doors banging, we’re not sure if it was because we were situated above what we thought was the gym/pool area or something else, although it wasn’t a major problem, it was slightly annoying. The breakfast was good as was the service. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

This is an historic older hotel with one of the most beautiful ocean views in the entire Devon region. Their front patio is wonderful to have a drink or light meal on and the English breakfast is quite good.. On the slightly down side, their mattress was too firm for us and the bathroom had a retrofitted bath/shower combination which was quite high off the floor (one needs to be quite careful not to slip in the shower or the fall could be dangerous).

Their front patio is wonderful to have a drink or light meal on and the English breakfast is quite good.. On the slightly down side, their mattress was too firm for us and the bathroom had a retrofitted bath/shower combination which was quite high off the floor (one needs to be quite careful not to slip in the shower or the fall could be dangerous).

We had an inland facing room that was affected by the continuous ‘fan’ noise just under our windows. It was quite warm so we needed them to be open all night unfortunately. A bit disappointed by the health club indoor pool complex. The changing facilities were very poor, no lockers/space to change apart from the toilet. The pool was rather cold and the sauna was not hot enough or large enough for more than 2 people. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We ate in the restaurant the first night. I had a nice gammon meal but my wife was given a very dry bun with her burger meal which was very average.

This hotel was amazing - room was beautiful and paid to have a sea view which was incredible. Breakfast was lovely. The only downside for us was Day 3 when there was a wedding at the hotel. Our room was over the function room so could hear the music and the guests kept us awake standing outside under our room windows drinking. We couldn’t sleep until everyone had departed. The hotel did refund us some money but it dampened the whole experience for us. Would go back but not if there was a wedding on!

Loved the room and the view, staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. One issue was that there was a wine stain on the carpet beside the bed, I reported it to the cleaning staff as I didn’t want them thinking it was our fault. They cleaned the room each day but did nothing about the stain on the carpet. The other issue was the water pressure, there was a lovely big bath but it took an age to fill up

The first night was awful. Wee were given a room which was over the kitchen and had the most awful humming noise all night long - we could not sleep. The obsosly have had complaints about this room in the past but seem to ignore them and continue to to put guests in there. After several complaints and phone calls while on our day trip out we finally got them to move us to an alternative room which was 100% better. Shame we could not have had this from the start. The problem with the room was compounded with the poor service in the restaurant on the evening. Both meals had important elements missing form them and when this was pointed out it was rectified, but not in a nice way. No onion rings and the no avocado in an chicken and avocado salad! After we finished we were left sitting at the table. nobody asked is about desert or coffee, in the end we had to get up and leave to get anybody attention. We booked this hotel for a very special birthday treat and spent more because it was rated 4 star, even though it is in a lovely position and the hotel is nice, it was not the experience we had hoped for and left feeling very disappointed.

A lot of signs about parking a bit draconian and not very welcoming and reserving £150 on my card for incidentals also over the top. Hotel seems to be very under staffed, especially in the restaurant. At breakfast on the 3 morning of our stay it took 50 minutes to receive our hot food order which was only an omelet. on at least 3 mornings there most of been 35 plus guests in the restaurant with only 2 persons serving. Also the price charged for bed a breakfast does not reflect what you receive. the selection of food was very limited and it states a continental buffet breakfast but on 4 out of 5 mornings none of what you would expect to find was available (Standard selection of pastries etc.) I had pancakes one morning and it was obvious they where out of a microwave. they had been over heated and were hard. Some gusts on the neighboring table asked for pancakes with maple syrup & banana they were given pancakes with a pot of syrup and a whole banana un pealed on the side of the plate. they were slightly surprised that there was no real effort! Hate to say it but one of the lower budget chain hotels would offer a much better breakfast at a much cheaper rate. Also the heating was on full blast. we had to ask for the door and windows to be opened. Also a lot more detail and care needs to be taken with room cleaning, daily servicing and maintenance. Lots of dust found on lights and on top of TV. shower hose leaking, tap handle broken.

Really lovely hotel with great views. Breakfast a real treat. Rooms are a very generous size and a sea view is beautiful. Don’t like the policy of authorising £150 on your bank card on check in. Not released for 5 to 10 days is not acceptable.

The Osborne hotel is beautifully positioned on what feels like cots own private bay, away from the busier parts of Torquay. It has lovely views, good facilities and friendly, helpful staff. We really enjoyed our three nights.

Breakfast and evening meal at the hotel was excellent room at the back of the hotel was generally quiet apart from the creaky floorboards above us. Ideal spot for exploring the coastal paths and walking into the marina will definitely return.

I had a lovely one night stay here. Its seafront location is perfect. It’s got a lovely bar, pools (indoor & outdoor) and an outside terrace. Staff are wonderful and offer a great service. I’ll be back for sure to stay longer next time.

Upon arrival the view is fantastic across the water at Torquey. There is ample parking around the hotel, by the entrance there is a lovely terrace and a good looking pool with the same views of the water. Checking in the staff were extremely polite and friendly. We booked an economy room because we were only there one evening but even the economy room was lovely and very clean.

Lovely people, excellent food and lovely position. Such an easy place to spend quality time with people we love. We had an excellent Sunday roast with the older generation, met friends and enjoyed the cafe by the sea and used as a base to visit other friends.

Had a lovely three night stay at this beautifully located Hotel. Staff were friendly & mainly efficient. Nice spacious room. A few things needed attention. Bath side panel, was very mouldy. Extractor fan was completely covered in thick dust. Very wasteful having individual plastic bottles for the shower & too much paper wastage. Breakfast was average . Used the indoor swimming pool, which was ok. Overall a nice stay, but a few little attention to details could improve the ambiance.

We had a lovely stay, really enjoyed the two swimming pools and all the facilities the hotel provided. Breakfast was good. After receiving an email from the hotel we elected to have dinner on the two nights we stayed. The first nights meal was ok although the ribeye steak was replaced by a rather tough rump steak. We were disappointed on the second night to find the menu was the same as previous night and with only a choice of four, one being vegan, we felt very restricted for choice. We were not informed of this when we rang up to pay for the dinner previous to our stay. We were also surprised that on the first night I had pork belly as a starter with eight pieces of pork so I suggested my husband have this the following evening but he only got three pieces of pork and a reduced amount of salad! Surely if you are going to only offer the same menu the dishes should be consistent. I am afraid for the cost of the meal we were not very impressed. We would love to stay at the Osborne again but would not eat in the restaurant. Food served on the terrace looked far more enticing. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant.

Best outdoor swimming pool (with views) in the country, for sure. But that's about it. No air con at all, so sleeping is out of the question during a heat wave. Literally slept naked under a wet towel with a fan on full blast next to the bed. Avoid the third floor - it gets hotter by about 3 degrees with each floor. Staff had zombie faces. No one smiled. Worse coffee you'll have (and small). No fridge in the room - essential in the summer. Parking is great though, free and easy. Breakfast is mediocre. But again, it's worth it for the pool.

The good, the bad, and the ugly. The actual service was good. However, our room was noisy (we could hear a load buzzing fan-like noise). The matress was also genuinely the worst matress we've ever slept on in a hotel - It kept "pinging" everytime one of us made the slightest fidget/movement and so we kept constantly disturbing eachother all night ! It was like sleeping on a trampoline! They moved our room on the 2nd night and the mattress was swapped. But the response was "we will SWAP the mattress, which tbh I thought was really bad as was only fit for the bin. 2nd mattress still clanging when you sit down, just simply 'better' than the first. The room standard was 2* - Very shabby and very outdated with like 40 year old wallpaper peeling in places, a hole/kick dent in the cheap bathroom door, with a couple of spills on walls i.e. coffee spills down it, some staining on the curtains, and old stained headboards etc. Food - A 3* menu with Pizza etc. However, the food was very nice for what it was - The pizzas were very nice and loaded with cheese and the puddings were very nice + generous in size. The good, the bad, and the ugly. The actual service was good. However, our room was noisy (we could hear a load buzzing fan-like noise). The matress was also genuinely the worst matress we've ever slept on in a hotel - It kept "pinging" everytime one of us made the slightest fidget/movement and so we kept constantly disturbing eachother all night ! It was like sleeping on a trampoline! They moved our room on the 2nd night and the mattress was swapped. But the response was "we will SWAP the mattress, which tbh I thought was really bad as was only fit for the bin. 2nd mattress still clanging when you sit down, just simply 'better' than the first. The room standard was 2* - Very shabby and very outdated with like 40 year old wallpaper peeling in places, a hole/kick dent in the cheap bathroom door, with a couple of spills on walls i.e. coffee spills down it, some staining on the curtains, and old stained headboards etc. Food - A 3* menu with Pizza etc. However, the food was very nice for what it was - The pizzas were very nice and loaded with cheese and the puddings were very nice + generous in size.
