The hotel is beautiful and in a great location overlooking Pike Place Market. The staff is what really elevated the experience: Dixie welcomed us riffraff with a huge smile and great info, and Dani, the rooftop bartender extraordinaire, held it down and made us feel special despite the fact that the rooftop was pretty busy since a promotional shoot was being done.

Great stay. Convenient location. Please note that Expedia lists that this hotel has valet parking but it does not. The preferred garage is just up the street one block. Easy.

Nice clean hotel by pike place market slightly let down by some unnecessary money grabs. Arrived at 12 so was aware I was there early but they checked and my room had been cleaned and was ready but I was charged $50 to check in early, this is just not acceptable, I could understand if you wanted to guarantee an early check in in advance being charged but if you arrive and the room is ready why do this??? Also no free water in the room and if you do want the tiny cartons left by the bed they want $10 a bottle so take some with you or pick some up across the road. Other than that the hotel is perfectly nice so a shame to let it down. Won’t stay again purely on that basis.

Location is close to major attractions and staff were very good.

Nice hotel but a bit over priced for amenities and location. Water pressure was so low I had difficulty rising off my toothbrush. Mandatory extra fee for I don't know what so be aware.

Beautiful hotel and great location. Very secure. So secure no one told us we needed a key to get into the hotel or we needed our room key to use the elevator. Both learned by accident. This should have been announced prior to arrival or at check in. Breakfast was incredible at hotel restaurant. The room service for dinner was not equal in taste or value. This is an amazing hotel and location. Hard to unload at check in and I of course used the wrong ramp to park at first. Again did not know but do for the future.

Such a cool hotel and great staff. Can't beat the location to Pike Place Market! The only thing to keep in mind is their is off site parking. It would be super helpful if they would email the parking link with instructions before you check in instead of the current system they have now.

Loved this hotel! The location is perfect one block from Pike Place Market. It has a little rooftop bar with fabulous views of the harbor. The rooms were small but well appointed. The gym had a Peloton bike which I use all the time. The restaurant was good. Staff was great from the cleaning staff to front desk to waiters in the restaurant.

It was a great experience overall. Really nice property Room: one of the folded towels at the bathroom had a couple blood stains, clearly wasn’t washed and some garbage under the bed. Only negative side was with the restaurant hostess, I wont get into details but she definitely need some hospitality training and be more respectful of guest timing.

We liked the location of the hotel and the room was well-decorated. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable. The room wasn’t cleaned very thoroughly, I went over a couple of surfaces (visible and easy to reach) with Lysol wipes, and they were dirty. There appeared to be mold on the piece of floor that separated the shower from the rest of the bathroom, because there was no door or curtain and the water constantly splashed there. The housekeepers didn’t get to our room until almost 4:00 one day, then didn’t bother cleaning the next day, even though we were out of the room from 11:30-5:00. There were waters in the room with $10 stickers on them, which seemed ridiculous considering they could buy them in bulk and probably throw them in for free on check-in day. There’s nowhere to purchase a bottle of water or soda in the hotel, which means guests are out of luck after 9:00 when the Target closes. They do sell liquor in the lobby from a little refrigerator and have a water carafe, but most normal people would like to have access to a vending machine to grab a non-alcoholic drink when they want one. The staff was nice, we didn’t have any issues with service outside of housekeeping woes. The big win though for this property is its proximity to Pike Place Market. It’s right round the corner and easy to get to if you want to stop in on multiple days. It was also a few minutes from the light rail station and a quick walk to the Monorail that goes to the Chihuly Museum.

My husband and I stayed here a few years ago and had an amazing time. We were sadly disappointed with this stay. Couple issues in our room: the shower was not clean (could see residue build-up on the glass, and the gifted waterbottles had been previously opened... neither of the 2 had the seal intact... ick).; and we connected with front desk staff about two requests - to book us a dinner reservation and look into a breakfast for us, we we never heard back about either. The restaurant was also very meh... Don't think we'll be back.

A gem of a hotel! Everything went smoothly, staff were amazing and the room was so nice! Very clean and quaint, and a view of the Market and ocean. Loved that it was in walking distance of Lumen Field, where we were attending an event. Would definitely stay here again.

Let’s start with the good: Great location near Pike’s Place and conveniently across from the downtown Target. Ben Paris is a great restaurant and the hotel gives you a discount. The rooms are stylish, comfortable and clean. The decor in the hotel and restaurant is so fun - especially the wallpaper! The cons are minor but still frustrating: The “free WiFi” doesn’t work which means you can’t stream your services on the TV. The TV has limited cable and the menu is completely wrong. The public WiFi they offer is riddled with piracy and privacy issues. If you’re here to see the downtown sites and dine at the restaurant in the hotel- outstanding. If you’re trying to relax and unwind in your room- pick somewhere else.

The overall poor rating reflects cost per unit value. The State Hotel is ridiculously expensive. I paid $400 for a "waterview" room (that's per night) that had a single 3x5 foot window looking out on dirty rooftops with the water a quarter mile away. The room was very small (about 10x15 feet), there only two drawers to put clothes in, and there was no closet whatsoever. It did have a comfortable bed, which occupied half of the room. The bathroom was a single room that was about 6x10 feet. It had a sink (no vanity), a toilet and a shower. While paying that kind of money to stay you also have to pay to park ($27/day) in a parking lot five minutes down the block. And one final insult- there were two cartons of water on the end tables by the bed. You could quench your thirst for a mere ten bucks a carton. What a joke. Needless to say, we will not be returning to the State Hotel.

This hotel is really cute and the location can’t be beat. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. My only note is the queen rooms window faced an inclosed alley which was a little disappointing and there was no fridge in the room but otherwise it’s a great place and would stay again

The property is updated and the rooms are small but very tastefully appointed. The bathroom is awesome and roomy. We had a 'view' of the building next door, literally, a wall two feet from our window. Fortunately it did let in natural light, however, I will be sure to try for a street view room should I stay there again. The price point is reasonable for the area. Parking is a block and a half away and is reasonable for in-out privileges although we never used the car for our two day stay. If you want to be a block from Pike Place, this is a solid option.

Overall, my experience was very positive. However, I did notice that the internet connectivity was often slow or occasionally nonexistent during the hours of 10 PM and later. I was unsure if this was due to the location of my room.

I enjoyed the location but I will say rooms are tiny I also feel the terrace was misleading . I literally assumed there was bar service rooftop but that is not the case. There is no room service except maybe afternoon. I would highly recommend ear plugs it gets noisy at night . There are homeless camping as you turn the corner of hotel . I did feel safe and y’all are able to get snacks /waters at target next door . Loved loved the bed very comfortable . Would stay again but again would bring ear plugs

The State is a boutique hotel with a funky vibe (in a good way). The room was a bit small and it lacked some amenities but the bed was very comfortable and for a downtown hotel it was quiet. A couple of minor gripes: 1) the in room coffee is pretty lame 2) the bathroom could use a couple of towel racks 3) charging $8 for a water bottle is ridiculous A couple of positives: 1) the hotel staff was great! Helpful and affable 2) the hotel restaurant has a great breakfast and the staff there is great. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will return if Seattle is again our destination.

Staff was very helpful and kind and very patient with me when I checked in yesterday. Even though I had issues with my bank account, they weren't judging me at all. The room was nice. Small, but nice for a single person room. They had a TV, a nice bed, and a nice bathroom, and a killer view of the ocean and the pier. The only thing that I found a bit off was the fact that the bathroom didn't have a fan and the shower didn't have a door I could close, but other than that, the hotel was really nice!

The hotel is beautiful and in a great location overlooking Pike Place Market. The staff is what really elevated the experience: Dixie welcomed us riffraff with a huge smile and great info, and Dani, the rooftop bartender extraordinaire, held it down and made us feel special despite the fact that the rooftop was pretty busy since a promotional shoot was being done.

I was lied to about early check in.Lied to about call when room was ready. TV didnt work. Told twice someone would come to fix.Later found out, there was no room maintence after 4 PM that day. No TV for entire stay. I demanded a credit for the $25 amenities fee. Told 3 times i was given the credit.Charge was still on my card. Called hotel2 weeks later asking where the credit was. Hotel says they never charged me which again, a big lie. Currently have a fraud complaint by my credit card company to get my credit.Never encountered such dishonesty by hotel management. The State Hotel is in the perfect location. You have easy access to just about everything from this location and the rooftop views are great without the crowds. Things to note: •leave a key in the room key port so you can keep the air running. We sleep cold and you'll need to leave it cranked down to 64° all day if you want cool temps when you return from a whole day out. • breakfast is totally shareable, especially the Ben Paris breakfast. It's more than enough food for two. • the only critique I would provide is for the hotel to follow through on any requests from guests, even if it's something they can't do a simple acknowledgement goes a long way. We requested an extra blanket for the bed but we never received it. I'm sure it was an oversight but following through and making sure the blanket was received or that it can't be provided would be recommended. We survived, it wasn't the end of the world. I would still stay here, if I had to come back.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is our go-to when in Downtown Seattle. Great location and good prices for a boutique hotel. The only reason I didn't give 4 stars is we had a billing issue and was promised a prompt call back from the manager since the front desk/billing couldn't figure out. We truly enjoyed our stay at The State Hotel the Room was very clean and comfortable and the view from rooftop patio was amazing… The staff was amazing they were very friendly and welcoming from our late check in to our early check out they took care us the whole time we were there making sure we had everything we needed. Plus having Ben Paris down stairs was a bonus to our stay the food and drinks were very good and I would recommend checking them out if you stay here and even if you don’t and most importantly location was perfect walking distance to everything you can think of 1 block to pikes place market. Yes location is five stars. overall we loved our time here and we are already making plans to stay here again when we visit again next year.5stars

Great location - steps from Pike Place Market, lots of great restaurants nearby, with a nice lobby, bar and restaurant attached. My room was really quiet, clean, and comfortable. Anytime I needed something - from restaurant recommendations to extra towels - the staff was really responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at The State. We liked the decor and the Ben Paris restaurant was phenomenal. The staff was excellent and gave us a great recommendation for an authentic Italian dinner. Being so close to Pike’s Place Market is a bonus. We will definitely be back to stay at The State Hotel.

The State Hotel was a great location for our short trip to Seattle this fall. It’s about a block to Pike Place Market and lots of restaurants and shops. When we checked in, the staff at the desk were very helpful and friendly. We were able to get our luggage to our room and park in the hotel’s lot in about 20 minutes. We quickly walked to the market before it closed and had dinner at a nearby restaurant. It started to rain, and we were glad we only had to walk a short distance to get back to the hotel. The room was smaller than some we’ve stayed at, but very comfortable. I laughed at the robes provided, but wore it as often as I could with the wet, chilly weather. We received a couple food and drink tokens when checking in, and used them the morning we left for breakfast. The restaurant had a nice variety of choices and we enjoyed the meal.

My husband and I stayed here a few years ago and had an amazing time. We were sadly disappointed with this stay. Couple issues in our room: the shower was not clean (could see residue build-up on the glass, and the gifted waterbottles had been previously opened... neither of the 2 had the seal intact... ick).; and we connected with front desk staff about two requests - to book us a dinner reservation and look into a breakfast for us, we we never heard back about either. The restaurant was also very meh... Don't think we'll be back.

Everyone here from the check in to the check out was very friendly and welcoming. The king bed was super comfortable and the walk in rainfall shower was a reprieve from a long day. The restaurant and all the staff were awesome as well. Great seafood dinner and nice breakfast. Location is perfect for your time in Seattle. Book the room with the view of the bay.

Beautiful hotel and great location. Very secure. So secure no one told us we needed a key to get into the hotel or we needed our room key to use the elevator. Both learned by accident. This should have been announced prior to arrival or at check in. Breakfast was incredible at hotel restaurant. The room service for dinner was not equal in taste or value. This is an amazing hotel and location. Hard to unload at check in and I of course used the wrong ramp to park at first. Again did not know but do for the future.
