Die großen Flecken im Fußboden im Flur, abgerissene Tapeten, die sehr staubigen und z.T. klebrigen Flächen im Zimmer waren eine Zumutung. Die Entlüftung im WC war sehr laut und hielt sicher nicht nur uns nachts mindestens 15 Minuten wach. Es wären dringende Renovierungen nötig und eine Steigerung im Saubermachen. Warum dennoch ein mittelmäßiges Urteil? Das Zimmer war relativ groß, hatte zwei Stühle und ein sehr breites Doppelbett. Das Frühstück war okay.

Had a lovely short break at the Cottage Inn, excellent location within walking distance of Craster and in a central position on the Northumberland Coast. Good base for anyone travelling in the area. The hotel has a real "pub feel" to it which we enjoyed as the locals were in the bar each evening which made a good atmosphere. Will certainly return

Overall, our stay at the Cottage Inn was good. The parking is to the rear of the hotel which was located next to a spacious beer garden, which was fantastic for our dogs who were warmly welcomed. The hotel staff were all very attentive. The location is excellent, with a short walk to the coast and numerous walks right at our doorstep.

The room was adequate, the toilet was loose at the base, there was dust on the skirting board and only one bed light worked. Also there was a plastic container with a dirty cloth and water in the hallway an overflowing rubbish bin outside and a full cigarette butt container by the entrance door that smelt stale. The food however was excellent.

Where to start with this one, this hotel is descibed as "upscale 4 star hotel", lovely girl on reception but all turn sour when it came to the room. Fast wifi? couldn't tell you as no signal in room, flat screen tv (seen bigger mobile phones) not plugged into the mains or aerial socket so connected it ourselves but couldn't get any channels. Every corner of the room floor and ceiling was covered in cobwebs, don't think its been clean for months , now for the bathroom, turned on the shower and just got a dribble of cold water the hole room was filthy with mould in the cabinet and to top it off the where 2 slugs climbing the bathroom wall in the morning. The only positive thing we got our evening meal for free and the manager (who we never saw) did manage to get the tv working. We are on a walking holiday so had no transport or we would have left straight away

This was our first visit to the Northumberland coastal area, we booked late so travelling with two dogs choices were limited… however stumbled across this place and it did not disappoint. Uber welcoming to you are your doggies, staff really friendly and helpful, location delightful, set in woodland and a short walk/drive from a fishing harbour. Food is amazing!! Fish platter is a must!! Fish n chips was delightful!! In fact anything fish on the menu… these guys know how to cook it (just avoid the burger, these are rubbish) Room itself was very clean, they’re a little tight with teabags & biscuits only 1 pack and was disappointed not to have room serviced whilst out. drawers etc in our room were rather weathered, some big chunks n scuffs and a missing draw front, and a couple other little niggles which let the standards down a little. However do not let this put you off, it is evident the place gets very busy, the team in the hotel are brilliant and damn good food!!!

Fabulous service, wonderful friendly staff, food just brilliant. Beds comfortable, room very clean, towels amazingly soft. Location perfect. As the name suggests Cottage Inn Hotel, not Malmaison trendy wine bar! This is our 4th visit to this establishment and I can not recommend it highly enough ( maybe shouldn’t as next time might not be able to get a room!) if you want top quality friendly service, clean comfortable rooms, sensibly priced food and drink in an area so close to the heart of the coast in Northumberland then this is the place for you! If you want trendy small portions and overpriced food and accommodation for top show to tell your mates then don’t stay here and complain! It’s an absolute gem. Thank you so much to you all for a lovely 3 night break. What a great team you are and the atmosphere and service is brilliant despite you all being rushed off your feet. Helen & co room 4

Staff were fabulous. Food was great and fairly priced. Service at reception and in restaurant was great. Sadly our stay was let down by housekeeping. Neither our room, nor our bathroom were cleaned. Our quilt was simply flicked over our bed. That was it. Not even our sink was cleaned. Poir show really.

We stopped in the dreaded room 10!! wallpaper on the ceiling dropping off, no shower power and a stale damp smell only found in this room. Food in restaurant good quality and service decent enough, although not especially friendly.

Four of us stayed for 2 nights in 2 rooms. The rooms are a decent size, warm and cosy. Bathrooms had a bath with shower over. Water pressure not brilliant but water was hot.The bed was huge and very comfortable. The place is a little rough around the edges and rooms are possibly in need of a bit of a refurb, especially the bathrooms. This didnt bother us at all, we loved our stay and will definitely be back. All the staff were lovely and very welcoming. Food was superb and the included cooked breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The Inn is in a great location for visiting the sights.

The accommodation setting being a pub with bed and breakfast rooms was perfect and situated in a beautiful area which could be explored either by walking or further sights of inferest by a short drive away. The pub area provided a plcae to have your evening meal as you would have to travel elsewhere if this wasn't an option. The food was home cooked a high standard providing very generous portions which was delicious. The room that we had was a double bsd with en suite bathroom with over the bath shower. Both of thess facilities are tired and could do with updating. The carpet in the bedroom was worn around the edges, the bath was narrow to sit in, I ended up having to use the bath rather than the shower as the switches for the shower did not regulate the temperature meaning you'd either have a very hot and freezing cold shower. Apart from the minor issues with the bathroom and dated/tired room, the hosts and staff were very friendly and helpful. The choice of food and options for breakfast were plentiful and again cooked to a good standard. Overall, I would recommend staying hefe solely due to the ammenities offered during your stay and the location of this property.

Excellent location and food was very good. Breakfast in particular was fantastic. The room was very tired, bed was well well worn and a spring twanged every time I moved. A good collection of cobwebs adorned the bathroom, together with a bath panel half hanging off and a loose tap. Carpet really needs a good wash. Bed linen and towels were fresh and clean. The room walls were very thin and you could hear everything that was going on in the adjacent rooms. For the price paid it was satisfactory, you don't expect 4 star accomodation but with a little investment and TLC it could be much better

Friendly and welcoming staff. Clean rooms with lovely white bedding and towels. Room pleasant with garden view. Contemporary furnishings. Ample space. A really good stay - lean, comfortable rooms at good value for money. What stands out are the the staff and service; nothing is too much trouble, great hospitality, thanks. (Breakfast is also superb!)

Fabulous service, wonderful friendly staff, food just brilliant. Beds comfortable, room very clean, towels amazingly soft. Location perfect. As the name suggests Cottage Inn Hotel, not Malmaison trendy wine bar! This is our 4th visit to this establishment and I can not recommend it highly enough ( maybe shouldn’t as next time might not be able to get a room!) if you want top quality friendly service, clean comfortable rooms, sensibly priced food and drink in an area so close to the heart of the coast in Northumberland then this is the place for you! If you want trendy small portions and overpriced food and accommodation for top show to tell your mates then don’t stay here and complain! It’s an absolute gem. Thank you so much to you all for a lovely 3 night break. What a great team you are and the atmosphere and service is brilliant despite you all being rushed off your feet. Helen & co room 4

Unfortunately, due to transportation circumstances beyond our control, we were not able to make our stay at this wonderful establishment. We were, however, able to stay in constant communication with The Cottage Inn, so that in the off chance that things did work out, they'd be ready for us. Because of their gracious hospitality and customer service with us, when I come back for my next visit (I still want to see Alnwick Castle and Embleton Bay!), I'll be sure to book my room at The Cottage Inn!

Had a lovely short break at the Cottage Inn, excellent location within walking distance of Craster and in a central position on the Northumberland Coast. Good base for anyone travelling in the area. The hotel has a real "pub feel" to it which we enjoyed as the locals were in the bar each evening which made a good atmosphere. Will certainly return

Overall, our stay at the Cottage Inn was good. The parking is to the rear of the hotel which was located next to a spacious beer garden, which was fantastic for our dogs who were warmly welcomed. The hotel staff were all very attentive. The location is excellent, with a short walk to the coast and numerous walks right at our doorstep.

This is in a fantastic Position And the staff are so polite and helpful. The meals are the best I have ever had I and there is plenty of it I would highly recommend it And debbie the owner is a lovely lady

This was our first visit to the Northumberland coastal area, we booked late so travelling with two dogs choices were limited… however stumbled across this place and it did not disappoint. Uber welcoming to you are your doggies, staff really friendly and helpful, location delightful, set in woodland and a short walk/drive from a fishing harbour. Food is amazing!! Fish platter is a must!! Fish n chips was delightful!! In fact anything fish on the menu… these guys know how to cook it (just avoid the burger, these are rubbish) Room itself was very clean, they’re a little tight with teabags & biscuits only 1 pack and was disappointed not to have room serviced whilst out. drawers etc in our room were rather weathered, some big chunks n scuffs and a missing draw front, and a couple other little niggles which let the standards down a little. However do not let this put you off, it is evident the place gets very busy, the team in the hotel are brilliant and damn good food!!!

Amazing all round . We have been staying here each year for the last 6 years and never disappointed. Everything is just right ! We love it. The food is freshly cooked , good portions & delicious. The drinks are too, sensibly priced in today’s ever increasing market. The setting is idyllic and so much can be explored on foot or by local bus if not wanting to drive . We just love it here, staff friendly , beds comfy , soft fluffy towels . It’s a cottage feel as the name suggest and not the place if you are wanting gastro overpriced food and accommodation! After all you are paying for the posh wallpaper !! But if you like good honest clean and perfectly adequate accommodation with fabulous food and drink at a reasonable cost then this the the place to be! Thank you for a lovely stay as always
