the hotel is clean, nice breakfast, middle of the road of what one would expect in this area. A couple of suggestions for easy improvement would be to have the showers checked regularly (shower head didn;t stay in place when changed height), bigger towels (like it is customary in most hotels to have a true bath towel available) and thankfully it wasn't winter as the duvets are really tiny -- I know this is Germany, but it would really not have covered a normal sized person from shoulder to toe... The real turnoff unfortunately is the person at the front desk (owner?) who made his dis-pleasure known when he learned that we had booked through Expedia - when I asked if there is a problem he started a rant about how much expedia takes as a commission and why I didn't book directly. When I explained that we were driving up from a different country and that I recall the price on the website to be considerable higher in Euros compared to the expedia site in CAD he kept on with his rant that i should have called to be given the proper price (why post something like Euro 159 when Expedia lists CAD 119 ? That's like a 100 CAD difference!!) when I just asked to let's move on and check in as we had just driven about 9 hrs, he got really prizzy and acted like a cross 15 year old teenager.. I remember similar attitude last year when I stayed there. It is unfortunate and certainly dampened the experience. We will re-evaluate if we'll stay in the same place next time we come back..
