Great hotel beautiful interiors. The staff could be more welcoming and there is no lift so if you’re not on the ground floor good luck with cases. Great location and pool and outdoor bar area is lovely.

Great low key vibes from the families with kids so was still able to relax. Clean rooms. Complimentary bikes. We had a room on first floor and could hear a lot of foot traffic overhead but quieted down during over night hours

Faraway is centrally located in Edgartown. We stayed at the Kelley House which is the main hotel building where you check in. The lobby design is elevated and cozy, and the staff is very friendly. The pool is at the center of the campus and has cabanas (you can reserve them ahead of time), sofa lounge area with a firepit, loungers, tables, a bar area, and restrooms. We would walk around town to explore the shops, eat at a local restaurant then lounge around at the pool to relax. Note that the building doesn't have elevators so if you're using a 28" or above suitcase, you'll be lugging it up a few flights of stairs depending on what floor you're on.

Second time at the faraway - it was lovely. Pool is gorgeous, staff is nice and accommodating. The property is a short walk from the ferry and all restaurants/shopping in Edgartown. The pelican club was fun for drinks. Our only area of feedback is that lunch should be served around the pool every day. Food was only served on Monday starting at 4 And staff seemed confused about the time. This could be staffing related- definitely not a deal breaker.

Beautiful hotel. Loved the decor, atmosphere, and the subtle relaxing scent of this hotel. Jermaine (the room manager) all of the front desk staff, as well as the cleaning staff all went out of their way to be helpful, welcoming, and friendly. It was also a fun bonus that the rooms have a turntable and vinyl records to borrow. The only con would be that there is no elevator, but again the staff were happy to help with the luggage.

Beautifully decorated, quaint property in the heart of Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard. Loved the pool, with great service and delicious drinks. Proximity to all the downtown shops and restaurants. The front desk made some great food recommendations.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the pool and hot tub! It is located in the heart of Edgartown. Easy access to everything! Stayed here a few years ago before they renovated it. They did a great job! Will be back next year!

We had an excellent stay. We had 3 rooms. Our 5 year old nephew was thrilled that the pool was open and part of it heated and he was swimming in the middle of October.

Obsessed! Gorgeous and perfect! So sad to leave! They provide bikes included in the nightly charge. They also have an amazing workout room, pool, hot tub, great staff, dining and even wine open to have at reception!

Friendly staff, clean room (housekeeping did an awesome job!), convenient parking, great location - walking distance to cafes, shops, restaurants, waterfront, etc, easy check-in/out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Clean room, well stocked, staff very attentive

I stayed there for 6 days..So LOTS of money spent. The hotel is dirty, the rugs stained, housekeeping didn't clean my room until 6pm a few nights then not until 3pm every day. The room was insanely noisy, over the pool and the restaurant. Ridiculous the prices for that. The staff, some are helpful, most not. NEVER EVER AGAIN>>>

This property was a dream! The lobby smells amazing, the detail in design was beautiful, every inch of the hotel was spotless, byredo products in the bathrooms, free coffee and rose in the lobby, staff was attentive and so happy all the time. I was obsessed with my stay. Highly recommend!!

Gorgeous interior, exterior, pool area, and location. Bathrooms weren’t super clean, front desk staff were not responsive and using personal phones. Pool bartender was awesome.

I paid $1200 for one night for one of their lowest grade rooms on the first floor in main building in January for a June 30 stay for a wedding. I wanted to make sure I got a room. When I checked prices online just a week ago, the price for the same room was $500! I asked Hotels.com to honor a lower price. They said they could not and had to talk to the hotel. The hotel would not honor it. I arrived early and they let me check in early the day of the 3:30 wedding so I could change after I complained. The room was FREEZING on an overcast rainy day. I could not adjust the split unit in the room so maintenance came and said these units could not be adjusted other the fan. Room was set at 64 degrees! So he came back w/ a space heater and I turned off the air conditioning. Hallway on first floor near my room and had terrible stains on the carpet . I suspected urine stains from dogs since there were a number of dogs in the hotel - two on my floor. All 4 pillows on the bed were hard and thick - like a punching bag! I returned from the wedding late and did not bother the front desk because I assumed they did not have anything else. I had a terrible night's sleep w/o a pillow and should have called. The next morning I wanted breakfast but the hotel offers NO AM FOOD - just a coffee bar up the street in a clothing store. You can get a free complimentary plain coffee (not a latte or cappucino or flavored) but no breakfast. $1200 and a complimentary coffee! never stay there again. I left

Room smelled moldy and was very damp. Ceiling was so low it felt like being in a basement. Could touch ceiling with palm of my hand and it was actually coming undone in one spot, was buckling. Realized before booking it was an older building but the noise level was awful. Ground floor is not appropriate for guests in my opinion and not worth the +$629 price. No amenities kit, no simple items like shower caps. No DND for door. Cleaning team left supplies in our room. Staff wasn't trained or on boarded. Didn't know menu items. Coffee bar in morning had cold coffee and never replenished unless you asked. Just messy and not a well run establishment. It's more of an influencer type spot for photo oops of the lobby and beyond that it's shabby chic at best.

Proper is so pretty and exceptionally clean.

Faraway Martha’s Vineyard is easily in my top 3 hotels I’ve ever stayed at! The entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. The property is absolutely gorgeous every corner is thoughtfully designed, and the scent throughout the hotel is so inviting and refreshing. Everything was spotless, and the attention to detail really stood out. The staff were warm, friendly, and made me feel truly welcome from the moment I arrived. From the cozy yet elegant decor to the little personal touches, you can tell a lot of care goes into making each guest’s stay special. I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else when I return to Martha’s Vineyard. This place is a true gem and worth every penny!

Amazing vibe, beautiful property, super comfortable rooms/bed and always got excellent recommendations from the staff. Amazingly refurbished property - we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Our only caveat is that the rooms are not well soundproofed - conversations are easily heard in conjunctive rooms, outside, etc.

A beautiful stay at Faraway Martha’s Vineyard — stylish boutique vibe, spacious room, and a lovely pool view. Highly recommend

Overall was a great experience. However, the beds were very old, worn out, abd needed to be changed.

The pool and fire pit are beautiful and the perfect place to spend a few hours. We loved the location—just a few steps from shopping, dining, and the water. A must-stay in Edgartown!

Love going to Martha’s Vineyard and was looking forward to the stay at the Faraway, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. on the plus side the location and the overall vibe of the property was excellent. Unfortunately, the room which was over $800 a night was terribly noisy. We could hear the people above us walking around and doing whatever they were doing as if they were in the room themselves— as we could hear people going up and down the staircase that was nearby, which sounded like a herd of elephants to be honest. it’s an old building and so I get it, but these things are not acceptable at this caliber of a place Beyond that there were other things like the towels in the bathroom were really substandard quality. They weren’t plush at all, and frankly I’ve had equal if not even somewhat better towels and lesser hotels. The pool was not heated or so it didn’t seem —it was freezing cold, although there was a hot tub which was warm. Some people might not care about this, but I find it not satisfactory to not have a coffee maker in the room as well but honestly, if that was the only thing I would’ve given it a pass, but I did have to put a robe on and go out to the lobby to get coffee in the morning which again I don’t really feel is acceptable. unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Faraway.

Parking advertised as available but in reality very limited to first come, first served, only about 10 spaces are on premises while additional, still small spot, is located couple of street away. Hotel is recently renovated so everything is in very good shape, outside and pool area are very nice but inside not so (I was in main building) Whoever did interior design should be fired, random pieces of decorations, orange and brown motive, strange green paint in hallway. My room (king) was large comparing to others at 320 sq ft but for some strange reason had window AC while others had not. Advertised with full size fridge, in reality it is just micro one, no coffee maker. Site proudly display turntables in every room, interesting addition if only works, ours was not. Safe in the room was locked open, unable to use. Staff is nice and helpful, they offered to address the issues but shouldn't it be all ready upon my arrival? Speaking about arrival, when I was filling pre-arrival form, I stated desire to check in early. Not only I was unable to check in early but not even on time at advertised 4pm, our room was not ready until 4:30. Manager was apologetic, offered explanation and compensation but I would prefer to avoid sitting in the lobby for long time. Overall, Faraway is one of the better options in Edgartown but not the best.

We checked in, and the room was on the 3rd floor, no bell person to help with the bags, the staff was very cold and impersonal, and that feeling lingered for the next 3 days. When we asked about coffee, they said we had coffee service in the room, but we did not. When we mentioned this, they said they didn't know what their colleague from the night before had been talking about. We had an early fishing trip, and your shop opened later at 7. Our room was nice and comfortable (pillows were hard but otherwise ok), but the staff seemed more interested in talking to each other rather than guests; it was an odd feeling of us/them, whereas the facilities were warm and friendly, the staff were not (except the woman who managed the pool areas, she was very nice). Additionally, the Pelican Club was closed one night due to the weather, and I'm unsure why it was closed the other night.

The hotel is impeccably designed and the rooms are spacious to accommodate family stays. The hotel staff did not seem knowledgeable about the hotel itself and were not able to answer basic questions readily; also, no one answers the phone number when calling the main line.

The property has a great location, very nice outdoor space and nice rooms. The lower rating was for two reasons. The first was our room was on the bottom floor, near the stairwell. Every morning starting at 6:30 all you could hear was banging doors and people going up and down these stairs. It was not sound proof AT ALL and you had no chance of sleeping. The second reason was the staff at the property mainly consisted of young people in their 20s. For a hotel of this price, you expect a level of service which they did not have. The person who checked us in was very rude to both us and someone else waiting. The staff outdoors by the pool were having their own day in the sun- they were very loud, socialized for hours on end which I wouldn’t care about but the noise was crazy, if we wanted spring break vibes we would have gone to Mexico. There were many people by the pool who moved to the opposite end to get away from their service station that they socialized around. People come here to relax and their attitude and noise was not it. At least wait until the guests are gone to take your Polaroids and scream about the party you’re excited about tonight.

The Faraway is our new favorite hotel! I have been coming to the Vineyard for over 25 years and our 4 day staycation at the hotel was the best weekend I have ever had on the island. The location can’t be beat. You are in the heart of Edgartown with everything being in walking distance. The amenities are great and the staff were spectacular. The best part is that the hotel is dog friendly too!

The hotel is beautiful, but the staff couldn't care less. Perhaps it's post-season and they are burned out, but goodness.

Amazing!!! This hotel is beautiful. It is within walking distance of some great places to eat and cute retail shops. The beach is a quick uber ride as well as the next town over that also has a great downtown area. Everything about my stay as perfect.

Great location, you can walk to shops, restaurants, harbor etc. New property with that charming old New England feel. Would definitely stay here again.

Coffee offered only in lobby was cold. Jacuzzi wasn’t heating and 8:00pm was too early to turn off fire pit.

First, this is listed as a 3-star hotel. It is not. It is 4-star plus! Fantastic hotel. It was recently renovated, and they did an awesome job. Rooms are very stylish, spacious, and comfortable. It even Smells great! In fact, we mentioned the wonderful smell upon checkout and they gave us a candle with the hotel's scent. The pool is very nice, with free cabanas and great drink and snack service. The attached Pelican Bar/Restaurant is a great spot too. Also, great location -- right across the street from the Seafood Shanty which has great views and food. Staff is awesome. So friendly. Highly recommend staying here. We will be back!

Nice place downtown. Room was very nice 3rd floor no elevator was weird. No breakfast.

We stayed at the Faraway for a long weekend and absolutely loved our stay. The room was spacious and beautiful. The on site pool and snack bar were the perfect place to relax and grab a mid day bite. We hope to be back sooner than later!
