The Proper Hotel Santa Monica is a beautiful and very recent property, with a fantastic rooftop area featuring a pool and several restaurants. The hotel has a stylish, lively atmosphere and attracts a young, festive clientele. The room was beautiful and very well equipped, with a minibar, coffee machine, bathrobes, slippers, and high-quality Aesop toiletries. The only minor downside was the view from the room, but this is really just a small detail. The valet service was very efficient, and the hotel is ideally located in Santa Monica, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, a beautiful, modern, and well-located hotel with excellent facilities and a vibrant atmosphere.

We were very disappointed with our experience at the Proper Hotel. We called numerous times to ask when our room would be ready, but no one could provide a clear answer or meaningful update. The staff we spoke with were short and generally unhelpful, which only added to the frustration. Even reaching someone by phone was unnecessarily difficult, requiring several automated prompts before we could speak with a person. For a hotel at this price point and reputation, we expected a much higher level of communication, hospitality, and service. Unfortunately, the experience fell well short of those expectations.

Second stay here -Really love it. Was initially unhappy with the first room I was checked into and the staff obliged in finding me a more suitable room. Thanks to Irena! Pool is amazing and honestly why I came back. Only downside is the amount of children at the pool. Rooms are lush, beds are clouds!
