This is our fourth stay at the Metropole. We choose this hotel for its convenient location and cute little square with cafes right next to it. It is a short drive from the airport and there is a car parking lot very close to it (not managed by the hotel). The check-in is quick and efficient, even if you arrive late due to plane delays. The rooms are clean and modern.

Great spot! So much to see around the area. Parking was a bit tricky, go to the Themes Parking which is roughly 800 feet from the hotel. It’s 15 euros for the whole day but conveniently located. The area around the hotel was amazing! So much to explore. Breakfast in the morning was top notch! Felt very taken care of!

We were very pleased with this hotel at the center of Heraklion. We had a balcony to overlook a plaza and churches, there were tons of restaurants, bars, cafe's, stores and bus stops just a few minutes' walk, and it was very close to the downtown area. Even parking was not bad - we found a 24-hour public parking close by. Our room was cozy and quiet with a large bed, and a clean bathroom that had no water leak (happens often in abroad). The staff were nice and helpful We tried the restaurants they recommended and we liked all of them. The only thing was the quality of breakfast served by the "Hacienda" cafe in the hotel building. The food in buffet was mostly dried and cold including coffee probably because they are prepared all at once. Well breakfast came "free", but we usually understand that it is included in the hotel fee. Anyways, besides that our stay was wonderful. We will definitely go back there.

Really great hotel. A little gem right in the middle of town. If you can get a room with a church view, it’s really worth it. The staff are so helpful. They saved us money getting to our next hotel with better cab options. Just be warned if you are taking a cab, it’s a one lane street in front of the hotel so the cab driver is going to want to unload you and get going super fast!

For the price paid (250$ for 2 nights) and the 4 star category I found the hotel did not fully live up to that. Positive things were: rooms as photographed with modern interior and comfy mattress, nice lighting in the room and location is very central, 24 hr reception, I was not charged for the water I took from the mini bar when checking out Negative things: lots of smaller issues with cleanliness especially in the bathroom that show lack of attention to detail, shower and bathroom seemed a bit weirdly engineered, breakfast was not good and service at breakfast was pretty much non-existent Note: while the location is central and nice with the church in front, it can get noisy as children were playing around and the area is very lively. This is something to consider if you’re noise-sensitive

We stayed in the rooftop suite with hot tub for our honeymoon. The room and hotel was beautiful, provided breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very helpful. The location award also excellent and close to many shops and restaurants. The only issues we had were related specifically to the suite; we almost had to go to the hospital as the balcony seemed as though it had not been cleaned, was extremely muddy and got very slippery after using the hottub just once, resulting in my partner falling and hitting her head quite severely. The hottub also did not get cleaned once and was unusable by the third day as it smelled terrible.

In my room (304) half the sliding door to the shower was gone. The other half leaked at the seams so that there was after every shower a lake next to the shower. Staff said it happened 2 days before I arrived. There was also a weird smell in the shower and quite many black spots. Quite many other things in the (for 4 stars) small and very badly designed room were on the verge of breaking (a chair,a light in the ceiling,towel hanger in the bathroom). Also the fridge was never refilled. Room service worked well and the common areas were nice & clean. Staff was OK,not overly friendly (when you come in again in the evening they often ignore you and dont say hello). Overall for the price I expected a better experience.

Für zwei Nächte war es OK, länger würden wir nicht dort bleiben wollen. Die Toiletten und das Bad waren nicht richtig gereinigt, wir haben uns deshalb nicht wirklich wohl gefühlt. Außerdem war es sehr laut (Flugverkehr, Glockenspiel der Kirche nebenan, Bar/Restaurant unterhalb). Die Frühstücksauswahl ist OK, die Qualität der Speisen ist durchschnittlich. Man darf nicht so viel erwarten, dann wird man auch nicht enttäuscht.

It was clean and the staff were friendly. There’s also a restaurant next door which had delicious food and great staff. However, for the price I paid I expected to at least have a free bottle of water in the room, as well as access to an iron and hair dryer. I think those are basic necessities. Also I turned on the do not disturb button and the cleaning lady still came into the room while I was asleep. I didn’t appreciate that

Nice hotel in a fun great location. Water pressure and temp were amazing. Comfy bed, much better than the Airbnbs we have been staying at. Staff were super nice and helpful and we appreciated being able to leave our bags at the front after check out so we could explore. Thank you!

Staying at the Metropole Urban Hotel in Heraklion was a highlight of our trip. This modern, centrally located hotel was immaculate, well-appointed and comfortable. Our room had a small balcony with gorgeous views of the Cathedral of Agios Minas set on a busy city square lined with restaurant terrasses and loaded with happy families, the children having the time of their lives playing football, hide-n-seek and riding scooters throughout the day and evening. Such an idyllic setting! We were within easy walking distance of shopping and popular attractions such as the Venetian Fortress on the water as well as the extraordinary Archaeological Museum. The staff at Metropole Urban were friendly and professional and the room rate was very reasonable, especially considering the extremely abundant and delicious breakfast that came with it. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a memorable Heraklion experience.

Great spot! So much to see around the area. Parking was a bit tricky, go to the Themes Parking which is roughly 800 feet from the hotel. It’s 15 euros for the whole day but conveniently located. The area around the hotel was amazing! So much to explore. Breakfast in the morning was top notch! Felt very taken care of!

This is a modest hotel in a great location. Directly on the square of St. Minas church, it is in a lively part of the city center. The rooms are adequately sound proofed, so very little noise enters the room. Most attractions are less than a twenty minute walk away. Tavernas and shops are all around. Five minutes away is the even more active Lion Square and city center.

Excellent location within easy walking distance of everything. Very clean, with helpful staff and we had a lovely little balcony overlooking the square and the basilica. Very convenient little mini market (Zervakis) nearby for essentials and close to plenty of restaurants as well as the market and shops.

For the price paid (250$ for 2 nights) and the 4 star category I found the hotel did not fully live up to that. Positive things were: rooms as photographed with modern interior and comfy mattress, nice lighting in the room and location is very central, 24 hr reception, I was not charged for the water I took from the mini bar when checking out Negative things: lots of smaller issues with cleanliness especially in the bathroom that show lack of attention to detail, shower and bathroom seemed a bit weirdly engineered, breakfast was not good and service at breakfast was pretty much non-existent Note: while the location is central and nice with the church in front, it can get noisy as children were playing around and the area is very lively. This is something to consider if you’re noise-sensitive

We were very pleased with this hotel at the center of Heraklion. We had a balcony to overlook a plaza and churches, there were tons of restaurants, bars, cafe's, stores and bus stops just a few minutes' walk, and it was very close to the downtown area. Even parking was not bad - we found a 24-hour public parking close by. Our room was cozy and quiet with a large bed, and a clean bathroom that had no water leak (happens often in abroad). The staff were nice and helpful We tried the restaurants they recommended and we liked all of them. The only thing was the quality of breakfast served by the "Hacienda" cafe in the hotel building. The food in buffet was mostly dried and cold including coffee probably because they are prepared all at once. Well breakfast came "free", but we usually understand that it is included in the hotel fee. Anyways, besides that our stay was wonderful. We will definitely go back there.

I liked the location in the old town of Heraklion. It is outside the normal tourist areas so you have a nice 20 minute walk to the water. The breakfast is amazing with 2-3 trays of food that is hard to finish as 2 people. If you can, get a package that includes it.

Good central hotel near everything. We have stayed several times and really enjoyed our stay so we go back! Breakfast is next door in the excellent cafe, and the variety of food is good. Highly recommended.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful but the service at breakfast in the cafe next door was strange. There was no menu to say what was avaliable & food arrived randomly. eg the bread arrived after everythingl else. Although the food was acceptable & plentiful we were given things we didn"t want but couldn't choose what type of coffee we wanted & were not given any juice. There was lots of waste because there was no choice.

Der Aufenthalt war sehr schön. Das Hotel hat eine tolle Lage und ist in einem sehr guten Zustand. Das Frühstück ist wohl an ein Subunternehmen vergeben - und das ist leider nicht so toll. Es gibt ein kleines Buffet, das nur sehr zögerlich aufgefüllt wird, auch auf Nachfrage. Hinzu kommt eine ziemlich gelassene Arbeitshaltung der Servicemitarbeiter des Cafés (gemeint sind nicht die Hotelangestellten).
