Beautiful location and setting. Run by good local people, but staff communication and availability were non-existent. We had a rough time getting back indoors, found no soap in the bathroom, couldn't reach the staff on phone, once returned at 9:30pm and found the pub completely desolate with no way to reach anyone. Had to even help two incoming guests enter the building. Presumably encountering the same issues. It's still a beautiful inn, location and setting, and the staff were very polite, the few minutes we interacted with them. So in the end, all good, except these inconveniences

Stayed here before and would stay again. Great country pub, in a lovely village and location for visiting Sussex. Friendly and helpful staff. Only drawback was the room was quite warm on a hot day.

Did not realise we had a room without an en-suite or that there was no breakfast at the hotel.

Small, I mean really small box room NR 3. Two single beds and literally no space for stuff or walk. No table or cupboard. Tablet size TV. This room should be single bed only with essential stuff inside not twin room for profit aimed management.
