This is a keyless accommodation. We received an email with the codes for the front door and our room, and parking instructions. It's £3 for 48hrs which is good and thete is plenty of parking nearby, although it was off season so maybe more difficult in tbe summer. The room was small but clean and comfortable with a nice shower. We were only staying one night but it would be fine for a couple of nights..

The location was close to the harbour area and the room was lovely. The only downside was that the room was on the second floor of an old Victorian 3 storey house and the stairs were a feat in themselves. Also the parking was difficult to sort out as we had to drive to the tourist information building in the town down by the harbour. Once sorted, parking outside the property was easy. The main reception area was welcoming and had lots of complimentary breakfast cereals and hot drinks available. There were plenty of spare toilet rolls dotted along the staircase in case you needed them. We only spent one night there but the heating was amazing, so much so we had to turn it down. The bed was comfortable and had a lovely winter duvet which kept us warm all night! Overall, I’d definitely stay there again as the on call staff were amazing and highly responsive to our queries.

We stayed in room 17, parrot room. Very large space. TV was obscured by 4 poster bed frame, would be better above mantle. The room is by the front door, and the room above must be wooden floored as we heard a lot of footsteps/lpud thuds on the ceiling. We paid £3 for a parking permit for the W zone, but didnt find a parking space so ended up at the leisure centre - 10 min walk away Bed was comfy, but very soft. Pillows need replacing. But it was clean, comfy, roomy and comms were good re checking in. Would stay again.

Beds were comfortable but we were on the 4th floor (atic) so i was knackered by the time I got up there as there is no lift plus the wifi didn't work in that room (room 15). All in all, the room servered the purpose and is in a good location next to the main shops and sight seeing.

Room was extremely small and you couldn’t swing a cat in the bathroom. Very tired looking. Twin room was up a flight of stairs which proved difficult for my disabled companion.

Our first room was on the top floor, no lift and a lot of stairs, and a very small room. TBF when I asked Rachel she responded quickly and was able to offer a better room with 2 chairs and a wardrobe. The room was clean and comfortable especially the bed, but the decor was tired and a bit scruffy. Overall it was fine

We decided to have a bit of a spontaneous stay overnight in Whitby. We paid £71 for the room (with a parking scratch card). The hotel is an old town house with multiple floors, no lift but we’re young and able. Overall a good experience, the room had a big bed which was comfy and a bathroom (shower was powerful), sash window that slid open, TV and kettle etc. Towel was clean as was bedding. Entrance had a an electronic code system that worked well, and a mechanical code system on the room door. I can’t say much about the staff as we didn’t see any due to the nature of how the Hotel is run (kind of nice in a way). The host allowed us to check in earlier which was good as it’s quite a late check in time! Parking is quite limited being close to the seafront but found a spot eventually. Would come back again. Thank you!

The communal area, entrance and stairs/carpet are very tired and could do with modernising but the room itself was lovely, the bed was surprisingly comfy and the bathroom was fantastic, the shower was hot and powerful. It was basic but perfect for the night, only downside was other residents were noisy but that can’t necessarily be helped. Location is perfect on the top near to the whale bones so just a short walk down to the town and parking was easy. All in all a great weekend.

When we booked, we booked bed and breakfast, The booking confirmation clearly said 1 twin room and breakfast at The Granby with the voucher that was left in our room, when we arrived, we had a double room and there was no voucher for breakfast. We were moved to another room and were told that the breakfast policy had changed, but no one had let us know. We were told that we could help ourselves to breakfast that was in the hall downstairs which isn't what we had paid for. At the time of arrival on the Friday there was a carton of milk in a fridge that wasn't working and that was all, on the top were some cereals, cereal bars, bread roll with chocolate chips in (which were nearly out of date) and apples. This isn't what I would call breakfast and it is no good for anyone with special dietary requirements like gluten, sugar or dairy free as there was no choice. By Saturday afternoon the fridge had been filled up with bottles of water, orange juice and yogurts and the fridge switched on, but by Sunday the fridge wasn't working again and the yogurts and fruit juice that we had on Monday morning were no longer chilled. The housekeeping was poor, on arrival the first thing that you saw was a dusty dresser and mirror in the hall that you could write your name in and everywhere was generally dusty. It also said in our documentation that if you wanted anything to ask a member of housekeeping, but we never saw anyone.

on arrival it was a bit of a surprise to find that there was no host to check us in, and that all you had was a key safe with your room key and front door key in. having not received an email with that information in time I didn't know this was the case, and had to ring to find out what room number we were staying in and what the key safe code was. the place from the out side looked tired and this continued in side all the way up to the room. the pictures on the web site show a smart stylish room, how looks can be deceiving, what greeted us was a sparce tired looking room which at first glance looked clean, but as you looked round you noticed that it hadn't been cleaned very well, with stains on the walls in places and some yogurt lids left on the floor near the bed. breakfast quite frankly was crap, the self service breakfast was in the entrance hall of the building, consisting of a couple of choices of cereal in packets which were open for goodness know how long, a mini fridge with a half empty tub of yogurt, and jug of milk, again not knowing how long they had been left there. there was also no where to eat your breakfast other than in the entrance hall, or your room. thankfully we were only staying one night and for what we needed it was ok, it was warm and dry, but had we known what the place was like we wouldn't have stayed there even at the discounted price because even then it wasn't Worth the money.

I did this when the hotel sent me a feedback request. But for the record here, I loved it. It was strange at first but as I got into the whole self checkin thing, I loved it, and the room was spotlessly clean and super comfortable. Totally recommended 👌 👍

Tiny room but adequate and clean. Room was hot 1st day so turned off radiator. Window was wide open anyway. After cooling down I pulled window down but it dropped like a guillotine! Put clean room sign on door but maid did not make up room or replenish biscuits/drinks at all. Wendy was very helpful on arrival as we could not gain access to front door. All in all nice location and an enjoyable stay. Comfortable bed.

Room was very clean, however the bed was very sweaky and mattress was uncomfortable. The flooring was creaky and wobbly in places, we could hear the room next to us which was not great at 3am and the shower was either freezing cold or so hot it burnt you. Shame as photos look great and location is easy to walk into the town centre within 10mins. Parking outside was handy but overall wasn’t the best place for us to stay.

Comfy and cozy room. Large bed. Good shower. In room drinks. Even an iron and board in the hallway if needed. All in all very good. However, the hotels runs a self check in system. You simply let yourself in and out. You don't actually see anyone. It's a bit like staying in someone's ghost house. Only problem we had was that the TV was rubbish. After a busy day all we wanted to do was chill in front of the TV for a couple of hours, but it didn't want to play game. Firstly we could only select BBC 1 and C4. So being an Android TV I thought, let's watch something on iPlayer, nope. TV was connected to the WiFi router, but no Internet. Told it to forget the connection and set up again. Still the same. Used my phone as a hot spot. Connected to the Internet OK, but the TV was so unresponsive that I gave up after 20 minutes of trying. Shame really.

Room was too small for what they adertised.. ordered a twin room but it was to singles pushed together and no space to seperate them as room was that small. Bathroom was tiny so was a struggle using shower and im not big.. could here the room above and to the sides and they was not even noisey.. stairs creeked.. for £110 for one night was a rip off.. location not in good area.. would not recomend staying here..

This is a keyless accommodation. We received an email with the codes for the front door and our room, and parking instructions. It's £3 for 48hrs which is good and thete is plenty of parking nearby, although it was off season so maybe more difficult in tbe summer. The room was small but clean and comfortable with a nice shower. We were only staying one night but it would be fine for a couple of nights..

The location was close to the harbour area and the room was lovely. The only downside was that the room was on the second floor of an old Victorian 3 storey house and the stairs were a feat in themselves. Also the parking was difficult to sort out as we had to drive to the tourist information building in the town down by the harbour. Once sorted, parking outside the property was easy. The main reception area was welcoming and had lots of complimentary breakfast cereals and hot drinks available. There were plenty of spare toilet rolls dotted along the staircase in case you needed them. We only spent one night there but the heating was amazing, so much so we had to turn it down. The bed was comfortable and had a lovely winter duvet which kept us warm all night! Overall, I’d definitely stay there again as the on call staff were amazing and highly responsive to our queries.

on arrival it was a bit of a surprise to find that there was no host to check us in, and that all you had was a key safe with your room key and front door key in. having not received an email with that information in time I didn't know this was the case, and had to ring to find out what room number we were staying in and what the key safe code was. the place from the out side looked tired and this continued in side all the way up to the room. the pictures on the web site show a smart stylish room, how looks can be deceiving, what greeted us was a sparce tired looking room which at first glance looked clean, but as you looked round you noticed that it hadn't been cleaned very well, with stains on the walls in places and some yogurt lids left on the floor near the bed. breakfast quite frankly was crap, the self service breakfast was in the entrance hall of the building, consisting of a couple of choices of cereal in packets which were open for goodness know how long, a mini fridge with a half empty tub of yogurt, and jug of milk, again not knowing how long they had been left there. there was also no where to eat your breakfast other than in the entrance hall, or your room. thankfully we were only staying one night and for what we needed it was ok, it was warm and dry, but had we known what the place was like we wouldn't have stayed there even at the discounted price because even then it wasn't Worth the money.

I did this when the hotel sent me a feedback request. But for the record here, I loved it. It was strange at first but as I got into the whole self checkin thing, I loved it, and the room was spotlessly clean and super comfortable. Totally recommended 👌 👍

Our first room was on the top floor, no lift and a lot of stairs, and a very small room. TBF when I asked Rachel she responded quickly and was able to offer a better room with 2 chairs and a wardrobe. The room was clean and comfortable especially the bed, but the decor was tired and a bit scruffy. Overall it was fine

We decided to have a bit of a spontaneous stay overnight in Whitby. We paid £71 for the room (with a parking scratch card). The hotel is an old town house with multiple floors, no lift but we’re young and able. Overall a good experience, the room had a big bed which was comfy and a bathroom (shower was powerful), sash window that slid open, TV and kettle etc. Towel was clean as was bedding. Entrance had a an electronic code system that worked well, and a mechanical code system on the room door. I can’t say much about the staff as we didn’t see any due to the nature of how the Hotel is run (kind of nice in a way). The host allowed us to check in earlier which was good as it’s quite a late check in time! Parking is quite limited being close to the seafront but found a spot eventually. Would come back again. Thank you!

The communal area, entrance and stairs/carpet are very tired and could do with modernising but the room itself was lovely, the bed was surprisingly comfy and the bathroom was fantastic, the shower was hot and powerful. It was basic but perfect for the night, only downside was other residents were noisy but that can’t necessarily be helped. Location is perfect on the top near to the whale bones so just a short walk down to the town and parking was easy. All in all a great weekend.

This is a charming place, it's very close to the Pavilion and to the centre of Whitby, so you can easily walk everywhere. They have a very generous amount of tea, coffee and biscuits, with more outside the room if you should like. You can WhatsApp the staff if you like and they are very helpful. The area is very quiet.

Great accommodation on a budget. Ideal location being just a short stroll into town. Only gripe was the metal bed frame which had loose screws and made a racket when turning over in bed. Fortunately had a multi tool to tighten them for the second night. Would definitely stay again

When we booked, we booked bed and breakfast, The booking confirmation clearly said 1 twin room and breakfast at The Granby with the voucher that was left in our room, when we arrived, we had a double room and there was no voucher for breakfast. We were moved to another room and were told that the breakfast policy had changed, but no one had let us know. We were told that we could help ourselves to breakfast that was in the hall downstairs which isn't what we had paid for. At the time of arrival on the Friday there was a carton of milk in a fridge that wasn't working and that was all, on the top were some cereals, cereal bars, bread roll with chocolate chips in (which were nearly out of date) and apples. This isn't what I would call breakfast and it is no good for anyone with special dietary requirements like gluten, sugar or dairy free as there was no choice. By Saturday afternoon the fridge had been filled up with bottles of water, orange juice and yogurts and the fridge switched on, but by Sunday the fridge wasn't working again and the yogurts and fruit juice that we had on Monday morning were no longer chilled. The housekeeping was poor, on arrival the first thing that you saw was a dusty dresser and mirror in the hall that you could write your name in and everywhere was generally dusty. It also said in our documentation that if you wanted anything to ask a member of housekeeping, but we never saw anyone.

Comfy and cozy room. Large bed. Good shower. In room drinks. Even an iron and board in the hallway if needed. All in all very good. However, the hotels runs a self check in system. You simply let yourself in and out. You don't actually see anyone. It's a bit like staying in someone's ghost house. Only problem we had was that the TV was rubbish. After a busy day all we wanted to do was chill in front of the TV for a couple of hours, but it didn't want to play game. Firstly we could only select BBC 1 and C4. So being an Android TV I thought, let's watch something on iPlayer, nope. TV was connected to the WiFi router, but no Internet. Told it to forget the connection and set up again. Still the same. Used my phone as a hot spot. Connected to the Internet OK, but the TV was so unresponsive that I gave up after 20 minutes of trying. Shame really.
