Great to have EV charging and Vegan food

Excellent staff, Excellent facilities and Excellent location makes this one of the best hotels we have stayed in last 45 years of travelling around in this country. Being able to charge your EV car and park it for £5 per night while you fly from Newcastle International Airport which is less than 15 mins taxi ride from here. We will definitely stay here again, next time we need a hotel in Newcastle.

Nice, modern hotel with sports bar, restaurant and pizza restaurant attached. Staff great and room was comfortable with good shower.

The hotel is ideally situated for us to visit family north of Newcastle. The hotel and staff are wonderful and there is free EV charging there (4 units, so first come …) There are good links by metro into Newcastle if needed. We have stayed here at least 4 times and will always continue to do so

Checkin was good, staff very friendly. Room was a good size, clean with a nice bathroom. Bed was only a double, but the room was more than big enough for a king - which was only minor downside. Room had air-conditioning which was a boost and very welcome with the heat. The hotel also provided free ev charging which was great. We had a snack in the attached pub which was nice - it was busy, but it was a hot Saturday afternoon. Would stay again.

Stayed a few times and the property is always spotless, beds are comfortable, staff always friendly and complimentary car charging. Only a mile walk into Gosforth High St

Really good hotel. The room was very clean, spacious and quiet. Bed was large and comfortable. Shower was incredible, warm and spacious. Managed to get free charging for our EV. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The breakfast was of a very high standard and cooked to order Everywhere was clean to a very high standard Bus stop right outside no 44/45 11 minute journey into town centre 2 Restaurants on site if you didn’t want to travel anywhere .. food of good quality /Standard Excellent stay and very convenient for A1

A lovely, clean and friendly hotel. We had a standard room which although lovely was a little too small for us, fine for 1 night but would book a larger room next time. Nice, well maintained hotel though.

Easy check in with friendly reception staff. Room wasn’t huge but still enough room for a 1 night stay. Bed was lovely and comfortable but fixtures could have done with a good dust and there were cobwebs in the corners. Bathroom was nice but was a strange unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. Slept ok but there was a lot of noise from other guests closing doors which did disturb us. We visited the pizza dough company for food which was nice and reasonably priced but was very busy and quite loud.

Outstanding. Ideally located, plenty of free onsite parking, decor beautiful, room was clean as a whistle and bed was so comfy I didn’t want to get out! 10/10 from me.

Not the first time staying here and will be back. Always clean and well presented. Staff are great and certainly value for money.

We were upgraded to a junior suite. Not a huge room but very quiet. The room looked into an internal atrium so there was absolutely no traffic noise. The room was well appointed and clean. The big bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was basic but fine. For first time visitors (like us) the entrance to the car park is almost impossible to find.

Just one night stopover, staff super helpful and friendly, hotel is still relatively new by the condition of things and rooms / bathroom are very comfortable and pristine. Highly recommend.

I have been staying here for a while now, this time.........not so good. Room not serviced, dirty socks in room and no coffee cups

There was an 18th birthday party in one of the function rooms, and some of those attending were staying in the hotel. They were extremely noisy all night, and inconsiderate of other hotel guests. It would have been better if those guests were kept to one floor, and anyone staying on the same floor should be warned. We barely slept. The room was spacious with the usual amenities; iron, hairdryer, tea/coffee, toiletries. However, the shower heads were filthy with black mould. They either need deep cleaned or completely replaced. The staff were friendly enough, but we didn't interact with the staff other than to check in and out.

We really like this hotel and have stayed twice now BUT terrible lighting in the rooms Cannot put make up on in either room or bathroom - unlike Premier Inns who have excellent bathroom lighting Really matters

Large comfortable room and staff were good. Problem was the noise. On Saturday night they had a DJ in the bar and the music carried through to the restaurant. Was so loud I ended up sitting outside as I found it unbearable. Could also hear the music in my room. Not overly loud in my room but enough to keep me awake. Would stay again as good value for money but not on a Saturday night. Also I found room quite dark as no main light.

The staff were very friendly and the decor was lovely throughout the hotel. The hotel was clean and lots of extras in the room e.g dressing gowns. Furnishings are comfortable. The blackout curtains did not block out the light because they are set too far from the wall so there’s about a 6 inch gap on each side of the curtains allowing the room to flood with light in the morning. Similarly, the “soundproof” rooms are certainly not that. I could hear lots of conversations from even across the hall in the morning. Personally also found the mattress too soft, but this is a personal preference and everyone cannot be satisfied.

Excellent location and hotel is spotless throughout …. Staff friendly and attentive .. Only let know what that the king size bed as actually 2 standard single beds pushes together .. which made it rather uncomfortable

Great restaurant. Very pleasant staff. However, WiFi in my room was very unreliable. Had to sit in the lobby or restaurant to get my messages. Other quibbles. Room had awful lighting. Nowhere to plug in kettle unless you moved the whole thing over to the desk. Luggage place had no light nearby. Had to use my phone or move my suitcase onto the bed to see what I needed. Was adequate for my needs, but because of the above circumstances, would not return.

Nice rooms, on the slightly smaller size, the premium ones are a good size, clean, nice hotel at a good price, nice bar and restaurant attached.

An immaculate hotel with high quality fixtures and fittings. Staff friendly and helpful. I did not eat here. WIFI was terrible which is the only reason I didn’t score it as 5 perfect!

very nice and modern hotel. rooms and bathrooms were very good - had aircon and complimentary water was in the room. ten minute taxi ride to the centre of newcastle only negative was the adjacent pub which had live music playing till midnight on the Friday and 12.15pm on the Saturday - unable to get to sleep until the bands finished

American Airlines/British Airways reduced my trip by one day. I booked two nights at this hotel and asked for a refund for the second night because I couldn’t stay that night. I was told it was a non-refundable reservation and basically tough luck. I think the hotel or orbitz would do the right thing and refund the second night lodging because it wasn’t my choice! It’s just good business. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel because they wouldn’t give me a refund and would not recommend Orbitz because they would not either. I had no choice over this.Do the right thing!

I had an issue on my first night with noisy neighbours (the rooms definitely aren't sound proofed as stated!) and when I spoke to the receptionist the following morning he dealt with the issue very professionally and sympathetically, and after being moved to an upgraded much quieter room, the rest of my stay was lovely. The breakfast options were excellent and very good value for money, and the poached eggs were perfect!!

Great service from staff had a few issues with accessing room (faulty lock) but soon rectified great hotel not far from racecourse (1.5miles)

A pleasant stay in a nice clean VFM hotel but unwanted hassle at check in when initially being told we did not have a reservation and hotel was full. It transpired they had booked someone into wrong room so was sorted but after a long travel was poor admin by check in staff.

From start to finish every member of staff made me feel a £1000000 they couldn’t do enough for yeh, the rooms where immaculate the decor trendy, the food out of this world the office desk in the room was comfy the bed was heaven and I am a big lad and slept soundly peace and pleasant clientele but out of my staff the most pleasant part was Richard night reception manager, who could be the hotel manager of the Savoy in London he a true professional and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was to perfection. Till the next time don’t change a thing especially the staff as they smashed it. Yours truly The customer….

Our go to hotel for visits to see family in Newcastle. Easy bus in to the city from outside the hotel, plenty of parking and a pub and restaurant attached.

Situated a short distance to the A1, this handy hotel has a good sized car park, very nice rooms, a powerful hot shower and super comfy beds. This is now my go to hotel when I’m working in the area.

Great room, great quality & choice of food. Excellent location for the racecourse.

We stayed for one night as I had a hospital appointment early the following morning. Fantastic location for the Freeman hospital but also in general. Lovely sized room with a king sized bed, immaculate and clean plus air conditioning which for me is a big plus. I’d highly recommend this hotel.

Great location for getting into Newcastle city centre, bus stops nearby and a metro stop about 10/15 minute walk away. Staff lovely, room big with a big comfortable bed, tea and coffee, safe. Bathroom sparkingly clean, great shower with lots of hot water. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and will stay here again.

Perfect location. Bus stop outside the hotel, 15 minutes to the town center. Hotel is extremely well priced.

I was happy with the property and my room however breakfast was poor. Cooked breakfast was served buffet style but all of the food in the chafing trays was cold. I also asked for a fried egg and the waitress forgot about it. The breakfast was certainly not worth £13. I would give a score of 0 out of 5 for breakfast.

The Great North Hotel is a 3yr old sympathetically, spacious and modern extension to the Three Mile which clearly is a well established venue at the heart of the Gosforth community. Located on the outskirts of Newcastle close to Jesmond & Gosforth high street it is an ideal location well served by 4 buses into the 'Toon' (c£7.50 rtn for 2). The metro is a short walk away. Booking online with Expedia was a doddle. Cheap too with an excellent member discount (£118 ro basis) for a Fri/Sat stay. Breakfast was extra at £13 for Full English, Continental slightly cheaper. Excellent choices and quick efficient service. Two resto's for evening meals ... arrived late so tried the Pizza bar which had a good report but was slightly underwhelmed at choices. On arrival check=in was straightforward and we were upgraded. Bedroom almost in 'as new' condition. Excellent, spacious, clean, well equipped and importantly quiet. Access to Bedrooms served by lift and steps along spacious, clean and tidy corridors. Bar area inside and out was lively. Inside themed on horse racing - nice artwork. Well staffed, provisioned and comfortable bar area with an excellent drinks deal and also happy hour 'win your drinks free or discounted' Bongo press style spinning wheel - great fun. Outside area was clean, spacious, with lots of seating for those warm evenings. In short, an excellent choice and great weekend spent in comfortable, convenient and lively accommodation.

fab room and really good bar food.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Staff were outstanding. The room we had was lovely and clean and had everything we needed and more. We are in the inside restaurant/bar and the food was lovely. We also payed on arrival for breakfast and this was well worth it

Extremely reasonably priced, wasn’t sure what to expect for the price, so we were very impressed with the quality of the hotel and the great food in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

Really nice rooms with clean, modern interiors and comfortable temperature. Breakfast was a disappointment, I chose the buffet which for £13 was uninspired, reconstituted scrambled eggs, rubbery sausage and bready croissants. Perhaps ordering off the a la carte menu would have been better?

Thank you very much for a relaxing stay. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was clean (thanks to Neli) and stocked with lovely necessities such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash & hand cream - among other items to make our stay comfortable. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night and found it to be relatively quiet. The info pack in the room was very informative. We booked in for the breakfast and enjoyed a hot option and buffet options. There is an onsite restaurant if needed. The car park was big and we didn't have any trouble finding a place to park. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in town. Many thanks again 😊

Good hotel that has a convenient on site pub. We used this hotel for Newcastle races. Thus was only a short taxi ride away so was convenient. Hotel is modern inside with goid facilities in rhe room (tea,coffee,biscuits and toiletries) Aircon in the room also. Had food in the onsite pub on 1st night but unfortunately there was no food option on the 2nd night ( staff gave different excuses) Its definitely worth getting the breakfast as there is plenty of options and the quality is very good. Would definitely stay here again
