Novotel Leicester

Lovely stay and fantastic breakfast. Parking is right next door st £10 for 24 hours. The only downside was local builders starting at 8am.

Really good! Love hotel, very clean and fresh. Fantastic beds. Great service at the bar, easy check in / out. Gym clean and good for hotel gym, 24/7 too. Had to leave 6.30am so didn’t get up have breakfast. Would def go back

Easy and quick check-in. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Car park pass sorted immediately (a few minutes walk away). Free drink for signing up to loyalty scheme. Room - lovely and modern. Mini fridge and tea/coffee plus kettle etc. Didn’t try food in the restaurant as had this booked to do. Very close to town, RIII Visitors Centre and Highcross Shopping Centre. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel was new (4 years) and was warm and friendly. Parking was available off-site a three minute walk away and at £10 for 24 hours was very reasonable. The reception staff without exception were polite and helpful. Breakfast was well organised and well laid out with lots of variety to suit all tastes. Our room was spacious with an excellent bathroom and shower. The walk into the centre was no more than 10 minutes and the hotel was on the right side for the main visitor attractions (Richard III museum, Guildhall, Cathedral, Newarke Museum and Castle).

The hotel was great for us. Modern room and bathroom with walk in shower and aircon that actually works. Local outside parking right in the city centre

Car park a bit of a distance from hotel and a hassle if you have young children. No flexibility for check out times. Overall the standards were good. Polite staff.

City Centre Location Everything you would expect from a good decent hotel. Parking is not onsite, but a couple of minuites walk, can be tricky to find. Over all a good stay and would recommend

We couldn’t find the car parking with the postcode provided but after going to the hotel we found it. A few minutes walk to the hotel. As we came back quite late and very tired coming to the room the carpet is dirty with stains. The shower tub has dirt marks and the towel has a long hair on it. No complimentary water provided. Overall convenient to go to town and food places.

Staff on check in were friendly. However when we arrived at our room (very late after attending a conference) we found the room was made up as a double bed rather than twin beds as requested. There were bleach stains on the carpet near the bathroom and stains on one of the hand towels and on the end of the bed sheet. Otherwise it was clean and tidy. The room was too warm overnight and we couldn’t locate air-con. It was very quiet though overnight. Unfortunately in the morning we discovered we’d only been given one large towel for the shower which was annoying, and we didn’t have time to request another. Overall our stay did not seem to be good value for money.

Great stay. Location was ideal as it was right in the centre and a 2 minute walk to the shopping centre. The room was clean and modern. Staff all very friendly and the midday check out was a bonus.

Decent hotel. Advertised as a double bed but it’s two single mattresses put together. Stayed for 3 nights and our room was never cleaned. We requested at reception for our room to be cleaned and it still wasn’t. There was a very long black hair that was definitely not one of ours in our shower tray when we checked in. Floor smelled of marijuana and when we asked if we could change rooms we were told that all of the rooms are the same. Wouldn’t reccomend. Last time I stayed here it was great service from staff and the overall experience of staying there was good. Very poor experience this time.

We had a lovely stay very clean lovely decor breakfast choices were fresh and well laid out with a choice of gluten free parking was easy to find hotel very close for shopping will definitely be returning .

I had the pleasure of staying at Novotel on 26th September to the 29th September, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. I booked a Standard room with a sofa bed which was both spacious and tastefully decorated, offering the perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The standout features of my stay included buffet breakfast which truly elevated the overall experience. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring that all my needs were met promptly and professionally. The amenities provided were top-notch, and the cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in both the room and the shared spaces. Overall, I would rate my stay 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend Novotel to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay with family. I look forward to returning in the future.

The car park was hard to find when dark even if folloing the postcode provided, poorly signposted. Reception staff were great no complaints, the whole hotel is spotless , very clean indeed. Breakfast is served until 9:30 and I went down to eat at 8:35am. Both of the 2 coffee machines were out of action and being cleaned for the entire 20 minutes i was in the restaurant meaning no coffee or tea available. "Chefs" were walking in and out of the restaurant wearing outdoor clothing including hats which surely raises questions over kitchen heigine? There were 2 rashers of bacon left swimming in grease and were not replenished in 20 minutes, pale sausages to the point where you couldnt risk eating them and in 20 minutes no hot food was replenishes. Orange juice was empty meaning the only liquid available was Apple Juice. There were 2 members of staff on duty, one of which kept disappearing and the other one was spending 90% of the tine cleaning both coffee machines. If they needed cleaning surely ckean one at a time so coffee is available? I paid £161 for the room and would question whether it was worth the money in all honesty. Location is amazing, reception and cleaning staff great but the whole experience let down so badly by breakfast and poorly signed parking. Could be great with a little more attention.

Immaculate hotel with comfirrable beds, close to Leicester city centre with a nearby open air car park. Perfect!

Every member of staff was so professional, and seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. The hotel was spotless, calm and enjoyable to spend time in, and the location was perfect for the activities we wanted to do on our trip. This was our first stay at a Novotel, and we will definitely be recommending them to friends and family, and hope to return to them in the future.

Stayed for a night out after a work meeting onsite. Parking - £10 per night for those staying onsite (£20 otherwise) in the shared hotel car park. Remember to put the registration in the tablet at check in. Check In - quite slow when a queue and 1 person on the desk. Room - room was at the end of the corridor on the 6th floor. Room was large, only thing letting it down was the bed was quite hard. Breakfast - there was plenty of choice for breakfast (cooked, cold meat/cheese, pastries, fruit, toast, pancake machine). The one thing that didn’t work too well, the mugs were too small for the amount of latte that came out of the coffee machine

Check-in was efficient. However, the room had an issue with the air-conditioning. Therefore it was extremely stuffy in the room and made sleep very uncomfortable. Didn't complain as it was very late by the time we got into our room so just wanted to try and get some rest.

Ac was not working and the bed was like laying on a concrete floor

Awful! at 5.30am hotel bin were change - 4 large bin pulled into truck. 20-30m - totally ruin my sleep and hugely stressful with big meeting at 8am Complained 3 times - basically got fobbed off by staff - that we we get our bins changed. Why not 7 in the evening. ha ha, 5,30 is good for the driver :( Staff really couldnt have cared less. Avoid!

Very convenient but didn’t like the fact there was rubbish lighting in the room and no place to work on a laptop apart from a very precarious coffee table Considering we all use laptops and devices these days being able to use them other than on your lap should be standard For this reason I wouldn’t choose this hotel again

As with many hotels, I'm sure, the double bed was 2 single beds joined together, but this was very noticeable and there was an uncomfortable dip in the middle.

Nice hotel, good location and a lovely room but in this day and age, a shower over a bath is an anachronism. I would rather see a walk in shower. The lack of any handrails made showering a bit perilous.

Absolutely appalling lack of customer service. I will never stay again. Upon checking in to our room my husband & I were disappointed with the room location & no view so we went to ask reception if we could change rooms or pay to upgrade if no rooms. We were told by the person at the counter there are no rooms the property so I asked if we could upgrade the room type & told the exact same thing like they were annoyed I was asking & didn’t bother to look telling me that they booked out two floors exclusively. I then opened my Expedia app & saw a multitude of rooms available & questioned how there were rooms available on Expedia. I then asked if I contacted Expedia to book - which rooms of all classes were available - if I would have a room then since they were telling me one thing & Expedia showing the next. I was then told they could give me an executive room with a view after telling me there were no rooms available at all in the property for the entire duration of my stay which was 6 nights! I was peeved by this treatment. When we paid for our laundry to be done by the hotel we received it back still dirty! It was visibly still dirty and still smelled dirty with certain sections having a fragrance smell like perfume. When we queried about this at reception once again we were greeted with below standard customer service which I pointed out to the gentleman. We were told that the hotel has been using that company for 4 years and to deal with it!

- No bottled water in room. - Fridge in room was empty, so no mini bar. - A diamond earring was accidentally dropped down the bathroom sink. We were told maintenance doesn't work weekends. Surely the busiest times for a hotel are the weekends. We were told we'd have to wait till Monday, but we were checking out Sunday. My partner took the u-bend apart ourselves. Very unimpressed with the hotel lack of help! - Came back to the hotel bar at 00:45am for a nightcap. We were doing an early 'end of shift cash-up' so it was card only. We only had cash, we were told we had to pay the exact monies. - We asked for the night drinks booked to our room (easier than the payment debacle) and we're told they cant do that!? Ridiculous. - the night bar manager spoke to us aggressively. Her colleague asked "why you in a bad mood", she said that it was a previous guest who called her 'dumb' and spoke to her rudely. It was not professional to hear the manager openly talk about another guest like that. I was very unhappy with this terrible behaviour. - At breakfast the bread loaf had no cloth over it to hold the bread whilst cutting. So, multiple hands all over the bread loafs. Disgusting and very unhygienic. - On checkout, when asked how our stay was, my partner mentioned we had some issues, and the man behind the desk didnt respond and just turned back to his computer. Totally uninterested. A 4 star hotel with 2 star staff! This hotel is a massive disappointment and we do not recommend it.

The service provided by the hotel was amazing, the staff were friendly and clean towels and napkins were provided on days when we forgot to put the cleaning sign outside, not many hotels provide this service. We had just got married and due to the weather we had to change plans on carrying out our photoshoot indoors. The receptionist was very kind and allowed us to use the front area for the wedding photoshoot and I will forever be grateful.

Great stay here- the receptionist gave us an early check-in as well which made our stay so much more convenient. Really modern, clean and spacious and centrally located - would definitely stay again!

All of the staff was so helpful and accommodating - I arrived a bit early but recognized immediately I was coming from overseas and was tired and rushing to a meeting, got a room ready for me early and were so kind and pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone - right in the heart of the city center. Loads I’d restaurants and shops nearby. And some amazing history!

Hotel was clean as per usual, however this time on staying at the hotel check-in took a lot longer and overall the price of the hotel this time was not value for money.

Excellent hotel, great value for money. Bedroom was lovely and clean and had good variety of useful equipment. Air conditioning/heating was a bonus. N8ce clean hotel, but don't have the breakfast it was cold and we asked for fresh poached eggs which took ages, i think we only got them because we asked twice!!

Lovely stay, staff were great at breakfast. Lovely blonde lady and maybe the manager lady? Great service and friendly. Only thing that could be better is allergen labels on breakfast items. All in all clean and lovely stay.

Alan who worked behind the bar was excellent and definitely deserves a mention. Sadly the only real negative we had was that we opted to have breakfast in our room and when it arrived it was cold. Other than that a great weekend

Spent one night here for a show at The Curve. The hotel is modern and clean and the staff were very pleasant. Ate both breakfast and an evening meal, and whilst it was just regular food (not high end dining) it was very reasonable and plentiful. The car park is close by but somehow we did struggle to find it and ended up ringing for instructions! All in all a good stay and would return if back in Leicester for any purpose.
