Staff were very friendly. On arrival we were shown to our room which was clean warm and comfortable. Stayed two nights as was due to visit Highclere Castle the following day. They also serve food which was ideal. This is a lovely rural pub with lots of character log fire oak beams etc would definitely recommend.

A quiet and picturesque country pub with converted outhouses, around a gravelled yard - such as a former dairy, that provides the accommodations. Parking was easy and convenient like a motel. Room was spacious, clean and well presented, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was varied and well cooked with vegetarian and vegan options. Staff were friendly and helpful and I enjoyed my brief two night stay.

The George and Dragon had been taken over by new owners in October 2023. The pub is in a beautiful setting with outside seating as well as a good car park. It's obvious they have redecorated it with nice neutral colours which gives it a nice bright and welcoming feeling. I stayed overnight and my room was adequate and comfortable. They are in the process of decorating all bedrooms. The staff were very friendly and the lunch and breakfast I had there was good.

Fantastic value for money. We booked bed breakfast and evening meal and everything was lovely. The staff were really friendly and the meal choices were excellent. . The rooms are in chalets behind the pub and they are quiet and very private. The pub has beautiful grounds

Used the venue as i was attending a wedding nearby. Easy to find, good parking and the staff were really helpful. The room was quite small but i havent got any complaints as it was just being used to sleep in, didnt need lots of space. Happy with the venue and would recommend.

I booked 1 room through booking (dot Com) cheaper. Room was fantastic. The room through ‘hotels’ was not brilliant condition and some uncomfortable looking headboard stains. For the price I would have expected better. Hard to get too with road closures, basic amenities but lovely food in pub. Bfast was awesome but very very slow and came out at different times.

A lovely hotel / pub that was very welcoming by staff. The food was traditional pub food and nice. The room we stayed in was basic but ok although the bathroom was tired and the floor could have been cleaner. But a comfy bed and a good size. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Once the rooms have had a refurb it will be a superb place to eat and stay. The staff were all very friendly, the pub nicely done. Would recommend.

A very enjoyable stay for one night. Check in was very easy, at the pub bar. The room is set away from the main building and was very clean and comfortable Breakfast choice was very good We found the dinner choice a little limited. All staff were very friendly. It is worth checking directions as those linked to our booking email were inaccurate.

The room was large as well as the bathroom. The rooms are away from the pub so they are quiet. Good choice for dinner at the pub. Good breakfast. We had an issue with the heating but it was fixed quickly. My only negative was noisy plumbing during the night.

Stayed before 2 years ago, was good so I returned. Still good, although a bit more worn. Still fine for a week's stay. Food is fine, breakfast is included and pretty good. Reasonable price. Good location for what I needed, as in between Reading and Basingstoke.

Unfortunately this was an awful experience staying here. I stayed in room 11. This is a room in the pub garden with French doors. The room was freezing, multiple times tried to use thw heater to boost the temperature but the heater is not adequate for the room. I had to get an extra blanket from my car and also slept in 3 layers of clothing just to keep warm. The temperature on the heater said 7 degrees! Waking up early due to being cold there was no running water to the room, whist this was due to frozen pipes it just added to the situation. Had this of been the only issue i would not have been that bothered. I had no opinion butto leave early before breakfast due to just being so cold that i was physically shaking,and unable to fully get ready to go to work. Went to hand the key and knocked on the pub window, to then be ignored by 2 staff who looked at me and said to each other its not even 7 am yet as they turned around and walked off.

We enjoyed our stay and the manager communicated with us beforehand about entry details etc It would be useful to have a sheet in the room with info about breakfast times,where to find this and choices available, also Wi-Fi details (open Wi-Fi) Otherwise all was good.

The room was warm, clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom radiator was very hot and only cooled down when we turned it completely off. The shower was warm and pressure pretty good. The breakfast was delicious and very generous; I had the veggie full English and my husband had the meat version. A proper full pot of tea rather than a tiny pot which was great! We stayed here when visiting the Bombay Sapphire distillery so it was convenient. Would definitely stay again. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Stayed before 2 years ago, was good so I returned. Still good, although a bit more worn. Still fine for a week's stay. Food is fine, breakfast is included and pretty good. Reasonable price. Good location for what I needed, as in between Reading and Basingstoke.

Used the venue as i was attending a wedding nearby. Easy to find, good parking and the staff were really helpful. The room was quite small but i havent got any complaints as it was just being used to sleep in, didnt need lots of space. Happy with the venue and would recommend.

I booked 1 room through booking (dot Com) cheaper. Room was fantastic. The room through ‘hotels’ was not brilliant condition and some uncomfortable looking headboard stains. For the price I would have expected better. Hard to get too with road closures, basic amenities but lovely food in pub. Bfast was awesome but very very slow and came out at different times.

A quiet and picturesque country pub with converted outhouses, around a gravelled yard - such as a former dairy, that provides the accommodations. Parking was easy and convenient like a motel. Room was spacious, clean and well presented, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was varied and well cooked with vegetarian and vegan options. Staff were friendly and helpful and I enjoyed my brief two night stay.

The room was warm, clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom radiator was very hot and only cooled down when we turned it completely off. The shower was warm and pressure pretty good. The breakfast was delicious and very generous; I had the veggie full English and my husband had the meat version. A proper full pot of tea rather than a tiny pot which was great! We stayed here when visiting the Bombay Sapphire distillery so it was convenient. Would definitely stay again. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Thank you!

A lovely old inn. Good location for onward travel. My only disappointment was no food on a Sunday after 5.30pm, unfortunately I arrived att 6pm. Being a hotel, I would have tought it was good sense to cook for the residents. 3 coupls came in and asked for food after I arrived, so there is obviously demand.

A very enjoyable stay for one night. Check in was very easy, at the pub bar. The room is set away from the main building and was very clean and comfortable Breakfast choice was very good We found the dinner choice a little limited. All staff were very friendly. It is worth checking directions as those linked to our booking email were inaccurate.

The owner has only been there a short time so some rooms are still to be upgraded. However, mine was excellent with everything I needed. Staff are exceptionally helpful and the food is amazing with a large, varied gluten free menu and nothing too much trouble. Parking is easy. Highly recommended
