Tru by Hilton Fort Lauderdale Downtown

The hotel was great. We used the pool, gym and enjoyed the bar. The free breakfast was great. The room was comfortable. Parking is tight. The neighborhood is good for walking during the day, but lots of homeless folks around the bus transfer station that is a block away. Location is convenient to downtown, the beach, Wilton Mannor and Miami not far. Will stay again.

Room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was hot and fresh. The location is not far from all the entertainment of Ft Lauderdale. Parking was challenging late at night but available. The staff was precessional and engaging. Pool was nice as well as the gym. They have a limited bar from 5-9.

Reasonable walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Good breakfast. Fitness center was small, and pool was under renovation, both were a disappointment. Water pressure in our room was almost non-existent. Utilized the MTM transportation for our travels to and from the port, which was great service.

The pool was shut down!!! I understand stuff happens but we should have an area where you can go outside and sit!! How do you have a bar and you don’t have a blender to make frozen drinks.. Very inconvenient no pool no frozen drinks !!! My parking should have been free for the inconvenience!!

Clean with very friendly staff. Pool was very nice. Unfortunately, the pool bar was closed the night we stayed or I’m sure, that would have enhanced the atmosphere. Easy access to shops and dining options

The hotel was clean, modern and suited our needs fine for the night. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions for restaurants and giving directions to get to where we needed to go. Check in was smooth and easy. The rooms are you're standard hotel rooms, clean and tidy. They have a pool table in the lobby, but my daughter's were disappointed you had to be 18 to play. They were able to play Foosball which was nice but the actual swimming pool was closed for maintenance until Dec 2024. Not a big deal for us because we live in Florida but if you're coming from a cooler climate and wanting to use the pool you should call to check first. Overall was a nice hotel and suited us well for one night.

I went to the bar and had to get ice for my beer. The cooler had been broken for awhile. Really wanted a cold beer, not a watered down ice beer.

Great place to stay. Walkable to the River Walk and downtown eateries. Property was clean and well maintained. Very affordable. The rooms were a little small compared to an average hotel room. I would suggest going with the Home 2 side if you like a bigger room. The staff was great...friendly and accomodating. If I could make a suggestion to management, your bar tender could use some help. She did an excellent job but she was slammed every night we were there and an extra server would make a big difference.

Amazing property!! Loved the pool on the 5th floor. Nice location. Great breakfast buffet. Only complaint is that our window could have been cleaned.

Great facility, close to enough enough walkable restaurants, short drive to downtown and the beach. Quiet and clean. Awesome pool and deck. All staff we met was super friendly and helpful.

Shower wasn’t properly cleaned out , hair was still on the ledge and the bed sheets had stains on them

The hotel it’s self I very nice and clean. The room itself was clean but had a very bad odor. I had swapped out my first room because of the odor but the second one had the same smell.

I arrived at 2:30 AM after two delayed connecting flights in Houston. The room looked good until I entered the bathroom and lifted up the toilet seat and saw fresh yellow urine all over the rim and dripping over the inside and outside. Absolutely disgusting. I just went to bed. I was there a total of six hours and I told the front desk the next day. She asked for the room number, and I gave it to her. Not sure if any action was taken. That Cleaning person should be fired. I can’t believe this hotel carries the Hilton name.

Place is sooo clean. Best breakfast ever. Second time staying here. Use the circuit app to get free rides to and from the beach and other surrounding areas. Do t forget to tip your driver. Employees A+++. Managers welcome party on wed. Free beer and wine and snacks. Just a wonderful property

Checked in to the hotel, room was not ready when I walked in. Shower was filthy and the bed was not made up. Dirty sheets and pillows were in the corner of the room.

Hello, I wanted to share my experience regarding my recent stay. Unfortunately, my check-in was not so great. Upon entering my room, there was a strong odor of sweat, cigarettes, and dirty laundry. On top of that, I noticed small bugs in my room each night, including roaches. The shower also leaked water all over the bathroom floor, which made it inconvenient and unsafe. Overall, these issues made my stay very uncomfortable. I hope management can address these problems to improve the experience for future guests. Thank you, [Randy ]

Stayed for 2 nights for work. Very clean and offered breakfast which had good spread.

Clean, modern hotel but the rooms are the bathrooms in particular are very small.

The air conditioning was not working properly, the room was hot all the time even when the air was running in the lowest possible temperature. It made a really loud noise when working. Only few TV channels, mostly news and some sports. They only changed the towels once in five days. The ice maker machine located in our floor was not working. There was no coffee maker nor microwave in our room. Also, there are not free parking for the hotel guests, you have to pay $35+ taxes daily, but I would recommend anyone to park on this parking if you are not familiar with the area. Something I like was that the elevator only works with the room key, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to access to any room.

Noise all night long. Unsafe streets near hotel. Beds were comfortable. Could have had better pillows, they were filled with chunks of polyester.

The room was not worth the money i paid had no microwave. Didn't really have a view windows were dirty! Just all around not satisfied. Not worth money

It’s fine if you are arriving late and leaving early. Not really a hotel you want to hang around much. The rooms are very little. No coffee maker in room and breakfast ends pretty early at 9:30 during the week and we experienced tons of people at breakfast piling up their plates last minute. Area isn’t super great but maybe this is bc it’s downtown. We were here to just sleep and moved onto Miami the next morning.

Hotel itself was ok, we were on the 9th floor and woke up countless times throughout the night due to the trains beeping, police sirens (multiple times) and people yelling in the middle of the night. Also not in the best area, we made the mistake to walk to dinner and witnessed some very questionable things along the way. It was fine for one night but likely wouldn't stay here again.

Great location. Older tech charging stations and limited outlets challenge the business worker. Though the pillows, comfort and quietness sure made up for it

The room was nice but I had no closet. The pillows need to be bigger for a king size bed. Overall, nice place hidden near downtown Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

AC was set to 78 degrees upon checkin, so I turned the thermostat down to 67 before I left for work (just after checking in). Came back to the room at 2:15am after finished work to find the AC off and the room temperature the same. They sent security/ maintenance up to check the AC and found that it was set to "commercial economy mode" which apparently shuts off the AC after 5 minutes. Its been an hour since then and the AC still isnt cooling down. They are fully booked and have no other room to move me to. So now I\'m stuck in a hot room and wont be able to sleep with no resolution.

Amazing staff late night. Our flight was canceled and we booked a room. Several of us checking in had the same experience with canceled and delayed flights. The staff was welcoming and provided water and a little snack for all of us. Simply above and beyond what we expected. Thanks to all of them for turning along day into a pleasant experience

Sabriy at the front desk was hands down the worst customer service person I have ever come across in my entire lifetime. I still can’t believe how she treated me. When another employee made a mistake and didn’t hold one of the rooms I paid for and it was canceled Sabriy not only refused to assist me with booking another room or giving me a refund but she started laughing in my face and began assisting other guests in the middle of our conversation. Because the other guests had just walked in, they didn’t know she had been helping me previously and she actually egged the other guests on to tell me to “ wait my turn” and stop interrupting them. This happened with two separate guests! Sabriy was truly amused by the fact that I had spent over $$$ on two rooms and that I was out not only for one of the rooms but also for the $$$ I paid. She could not stop laughing and smirking at me. Finally a coworker of hers came to see what was going on and I told him that my room had been mistakenly canceled and that she would not refund my money. He immediately said that he could reinstate the reservation with no problem. He did this and I got the room back. Sabriy obviously has severe mental issues and needs to wield power and abuse against customers of the hotel. It was one of the most bizarre experiences I’ve ever had. As a Hilton Honors member I will never stay at a “Tru” again. Unless you want to be abused and humiliated by hotel front desk staff I urge you to stay far awa

Staff was excellent!! The woman who checked us in was awesome! She was very helpful and was great with transportation information. She is what every hospitality worker should strive to be! Every staff member was cheerful and helpful!

The two women at the front desk were very rude. Why are you in the customer service industry if you don’t like people?

I didn't like the area

Is block away from main city bus terminal and another train station. Homeless people sleeping on sidewalk a block away. Hotel has gated parking for 35 dollars a night and security guard

Easy access from Highway, train and airport. Uber and Lyft to dining and venues.

The hotel is a confortable and nice hotel. Rooms are small but have all you need for a short stay The location wasn't. Y favorite, I didn't feel safe. Is near the train station and you see a lot of homeless in the area nearby. Service and the personal is EXCELLENT! The hotel has parking and an additional parking lot is just in front.

Two elevators broke down. Had to constantly ask for towels. towels. Breakfast luke warm to cold. Buffet ran out a lot. Staff very friendly

Check in took no time at all, there is onsite parking garage available. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The pool on the 5th floor is gorgeous, enjoyed some drinks at the bar around the corner from the pool. Amazing time, amazing stay.

Overall: I enjoyed my stay at Tru. I found it on TikTok and searched various videos. The hotel was just like the pictures and the videos. We accidentally went to the wrong Tru and the pictures and videos were also the same at Dania Beach. Service: The breakfast was good and the service there was also good from checking in, early morning check out, the bar, breakfast and all staff. The bar was crowded on Saturday afternoon with large cruise group stays. As a result, the service was slower which is to be expected. Food: The food at the hotel was not that great. I would give it a 1/5 with 1 being the lowest simply because I did not eat it, but it was an option. The drinks weren't very strong, but they tasted good. There are snack options at the front which I did enjoy being able to charge to the room. There were many outlets available throughout the hotel as well in common area spaces. I didn't use the pool, but it was an option. Parking: Parking can be slim, but we were always able to find a parking spot even if we drove to the very top. Very simple process. Room: The bedroom itself was clean. The bathroom was not. It The shower door would not close completely, but the water did not get on the floor. The shower needed better cleaning. There is no closet space, but we did not have any issues. There were two of us. I would stay at a Tru hotel again.

The food and drinks at the restaurant inside are a tad bit expensive and not really worth the price. Other than that we had a beautiful stay

Breakfast said it ended on Saturday at 10 am but they ran out of food at 9. It was a downer :/
