Fantastic Staff & Great Spa & a gourmet restaurant!!! there is really no reason to leave the property PS sorry I forgot to mention an amazing sports bar. Any game anywhere will be on one of their TVs surrounding the area.

We decided on this hotel for the pool for our underaged son. We were kicked out of the workout room because he’s under the age of 18. Then, the pool was closed for the day, on a Saturday, and no one could tell us if it would re-open on our second and last day here. We went to talk to the front desk and all they did was offered to refund our resort fees. No vouchers to return, no vouchers for meals. We are very disappointed.

This is the second time we have stayed here and I will say that the first time was perfect so when we had issues during check in we were very surprised. I called prior to our arrival and confirmed our room but when we got there they said it wasn't ready and we had to wait. There seemed to be a lot of miscommunication and we waited over an hour to check in and they agreed to give us a different room and a small dining credit for the inconvenience. Once that issue was resolved we had a great time. We love the hotel and the rooftop pool, hot tubs and fire pits. The restaurants are pricey but have good food and it's fun to go and gamble downstairs. The valet is also free if you stay at the hotel.

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. Everything looked and smelled clean. The staff was incredibly friendly. I thought that because it was a hotel/casino it would be smoky and not very clean, but it was exactly the opposite. I would definitely come back to stay here again.

The place is beautiful everything was perfect except when I woke up with bed bug bite didn’t think the red spots could be bed bugs but realized later going back home it was on my back and legs didn’t think a place this beautiful could have this situation

We discovered after we slept the first night that out bedding was soiled and stained. We contacted management the moment that we found out and was told that it would be changed immediately. We went about our day and returned to the room that evening and nothing had been done. Another phone call to the management and house keeping did come to change it. We had the resort fee waived but only for one day. No other compensation. Check your sheets before sleeping and the comforter too! Totally gross for a high end resort.

The staff was very helpful especially navigating the elevators which are a little trickey at first. The rooms looked clean when you first walk in but the furniture was really dusty. Also the gaming cards and room cards kept giving us trouble. For the price we expected alot more.

Beautiful casino and resort. Enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was super clean, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Shower is very spacious with a built-in bench. Great customer service. Will definitely stay again.

Contacted front desk three days in a row for technology issues which were never resolved. I was told management would contact me that never happened. I sent a note to guest service manager and received no response. Very poor internet service and no functioning TV in our room. We were told antenna on the roof needed to be dusted off. Hmm a hotel of this caliber ??? If you stay be prepared they are all talk and will not resolve nor will you hear from management.

"I was very disappointed with my stay due to an issue with the shower. When I went to take a shower, the water was only cool and never got warm enough. This was incredibly frustrating and not what I expected. A hot shower is a basic necessity, and it was disappointing that this wasn't available. I hope management addresses this issue for future guests."

Nice hotel/casino. Had constant issues with the door entry, at one point locked out of the room for 2 hours during midday trying to get ready to go back out. Really threw off my entire afternoon and was offered $25 F&B credit in return. Almost insulting as nothing in the resort is less than $25 and the room price was $250+/night. Besides sleeping I spent less time in my room than I did in the hallway waiting on repair to the lock.

Our room was so warm. Service man came up & changed the filter. He said it was good & left. It never got below 76 degrees & fan would only stay on low. Was too late to get a new room.

The hotel was nicely appointed but everywhere we went the service was pretty terrible. From checkin where we were told our room was ready twice, and it wasn’t (we had left to go eat and gamble then came back twice after receiving phone calls saying it was ready — after 4pm checkin time —and no real apology or concessions made) to the servers at both bistro mariposa (clearly not trained for the level of restaurant) and 24/7, to very slow cocktail waitresses, to a very grumpy barista at checkout. Honestly, we will check out the other 4-star hotel in Black Hawk next time.

The customer service at the reception is simply terrible, even though we paid in advance when booking at the hotel, they refused to give us the room until we presented the card with which it was booked In addition, after my husband returned from the casino where he lost his room card, they refused to duplicate his card until they managed to wake me up from my sleep at 1AM I have never encountered a case where a hotel refused to duplicate a room card When the receptionist was asked what would happen if you fail to wake her up, will I stay in the lobby all night? She answered yes

Check in with Maxine was awful. We spent 30 minutes trying then a gentleman came and told us To f go downstairs. However they forgot to tell us how the elevators worked. Finally a lady explained how the scanner worked

First time to visit. Could not have been more impressed. Vegas has become overpriced and payouts at blackjack are 6:5 most places. Here they pay 3:2 and had plenty of $15 tables. Service was great everywhere. Wonderful dealers. There are even windows throughout the casino where you can see trees and the mountains. This is my new goto place.

I finally gave in to the commercials and I'm so glad I did. My husband and I stayed here on the way to the mountains. What a GREAT experience all around. Everything is very luxurious. The food is pricey but great, we ate a la carte because we didn't want to overeat but I think the buffet would be a better value. Didn't gamble much but just like Vegas, you get free drinks while you play. The town is cute to walk around, we had coffee and breakfast burritos up the street and saw shops, wine bar, etc in addition to all of the other casinos and there are hiking/biking trails nearby. The rooftop pool is very nice. We did a Thurs night -- weeknights are HALF the cost of weekend nights, would be very pricey otherwise but worth it for a fun girls or guys trip if you split the cost or a splurge for a couples trip. Haven't stayed in any of the other resorts -- they looked nice too. There's a Blackhawk bus but parking is free and it's a short and scenic drive from Denver.

The property is nice with plenty of options for gaming and dining, including a 24 hour restaurant. They don't have room service but you can order to go so you don't have to dine in. The drive through the mountains is beautiful and parking is free. The hotel staff can be a bit slow and requests can take time to fulfill. Had to follow up twice just to make sure they were working on it. Otherwise no issues.

It is a beautiful property, with not very responsive staff, or management. I was served a meal on the property and with in a few hours was sick violently with food poisoning. I spent the next two days basically in my room with food poisoning. We spoke with management and we were offered a refund for the 30$ meal. We SPENT hundreds on the room, and I spent almost the entire time in the room sick. It was supposed to be a celebration weekend and was really ruined by the food. I couldn't even enjoy another meal, or drink. Really disappointed in the response of the management and hotel.

The monarch is excellent. The only weird thing about our stay was the buffet. They had this weird reservation system where they were taking names and numbers. We have our to them and they said “15 minutes”. We decided to go gamble a little so walked away for 5 minutes and then they called us. When not just have people wait there?

Went to the restaurant chophouse was probably best restaurant in Denver. Amazing food and service. Second time I was there. Also gambling the staff was so fun and made the experience even better. The property is clean and rooms are even better.
