Received a warm reception during check-in. Only complaint was the lack of brewed coffee readily available in the breakfast room on two separate occasions.

Average place to stay. It’s next to the highway and it’s older, so you will hear traffic and the room A/C unit quite well. Bring your own coffee pot as the rooms don’t have one. Turning in and out of the parking lot is challenging due to the high traffic road that it is on.

I loved the look and feel of this facility; however, the room we were given was next to I-35 and the traffic noise was not conducive for sleeping. The room was very small, but neat and clean, perfect for "I just need a place to sleep." Access and parking were easy.

It’s not what it was advertised and I am very suspect on the positive reviews. No elevator, the sheets on the beds were the worst I’ve ever seen. The good news, there may have been 3 guests, so the word is getting out to stay away.

We booked non-smoking room, yet our room reeked of stale cigarette smell. We were put on the 3rd floor and the elevator was out of order. Form the looks of the parking lot, the hotel could not have even been booked half full. The breakfast menu was poor.

Its a decent hotel, but it is old and dated. I can tell that they attempt to keep ot up, but its obviously a challenge. We've stayed there a few times now, but I dont believe we'll stay again.

This property was older but clean. Upon arrival, there was a strong smell of bug spray as if it recently been sprayed. The room also had an unpleasant odor. It wasn't bug spray smell. It was difficult to pinpoint but musty is the best i can do. I would not stay there again.

When we entered the lobby, I noticed that it looked grimey and scuffed. Our room was on the 2nd floor. When the elevator doors opened, the musty smell hit us in our faces. The air condtioner in our room was putting out very cool, but very damp air, and the room smelled horrible. We had already unpacked, when we noticed green, fuzzy mold or mildew growing on the surfaces of the dresser drawers and cabinetry. I developed a headache and had an irritated throat. My husband was coughing. We had a function to attend yesterday evening, so there was no time to try to change rooms. I disclosed all of this to the person on duty when we checked out. I told her we needed a refund, which was denied. The owner/ manager seriously needs to address this most unhealthy situation. We were very surpised at the condition of our room and the hotel, in general, after reading several positive reviews. Our experience was very disappointing.

They had a rating of excellent so I booked for one night. Very disappointed. The sheets appeared to be already slept in on one side. Wrinkled and stained. Luckily it was just me so I slept on the other side in my clothes. No shampoo for the shower but there were 2 packets of conditioner but one was empty/used. Will not be staying here again.

There was boogers on the shower walls and shower curtain! I asked manager for a clean room and he said they were booked up but there was only 6 cars in the parking all night because I checked a few times throughout the night. I’ll never go again!!

This is a basic, no thrills hotel. It had a nice, firm bed with very clean sheets. There were four pillows on the bed, alternating between firm and soft. The room had been recently painted, and the furniture was in good shape. The fridge worked great. I did not use the microwave. The bathroom was spacious. There was enough counter space for two people's toiletries items. The shower tub was spacious. The water pressure could have been a little stronger. The hotel staff were very nice and courteous. The WiFi worked great! The continental breakfast was "anemic" on choices. Basically, it was waffles, two cold cereals, oatmeal, and bananas. Water, orange juice, and milk were kept in jugs in a small refrigerator on the counter. Luckily the hotel is located near a number of fast food establishments. Overall, I was pleased with my stay there. It was a good deal for the rate I paid. I would stay here again!

I needed a room for a couple of nights for an event in Wichita Falls and Decatur was the perfect location in between there and Dallas. There was a misunderstanding on my part cuz of the app. The Manager / Owner Champ was very nice and accommodating with helping me get it all straightened out. He truly was a CHAMP! For the price, it was nice sized room, cold ac on a blazing hot Texas day, very clean and comfortable quiet night stay, and breakfast in the morning. Located right off of the highway and close to all the restaurants and stores, Walmart, Dollar General, Whataburger, Braums, Chilis etc. glad I chose the Lone Star Inn. Whenever I need to return to the area this will be my go to place to stay!

The room was amazing very clean nice hotel but the staff was very rude. There are restaurants in walking distance. I went to the front desk to ask for towels because we only had one and the woman was on the phone and completely ignored me. We finally got towels but the staff was just very rude.

The lady at the front desk was completely rude. She took my credit card info charged me twice the deposit for the room that it was supposed to be refused to refund the money and then in the middle of the night I got woke up to phone calls and someone beating on my door, accusing me of smoking in the room I’m not even a smoker then proceeded to charge me an extra deposit because they accuse me of smoking in the room it is a family owned business in a small country town and they’re just taking advantage of people driving through

You can’t be the value of this hotel. Although it’s older & lacks the aesthetics of fancier hotels, I would recommend staying here. I stayed 2 nights & I was satisfied with my stay. The breakfast is just waffles, cereal & not so great coffee options. It a short drive to Starbucks so no worries. I would definitely stay here again.

PROS: Very Clean. Friendly Manager & Wife, willing to work with us. CONS: Toilets are very low, hard to sit on, especially if you have any disabilities, If you do, request a Handicap Unit. Our room had slow drainage in the bathroom sink and Tub. Breakfast is Skimpy at Best. No Coffee Available After 9am. ..BAH!!! Slow Internet. As previously stated, Managers will work with you on accommodations.

It's a good thing we only had to stay 1 night. Staff was friendly enough but everything else was meh at best. I wasn't feeling well the next morning and my husband was going to bring me some toast from the barely breakfast, and he was told he wasn't allowed to leave the dining room with food which is a strange rule that we've never encountered before and we travel often. There was no butter for any of the breakfast and very few items for breakfast in general. Their was a stain on our bed and my husband really hated the extra firm pillows. I don't understand how this hotel has such positive reviews on hotels.com. There is also a lot of age to the building and it shows. There were loose tiles in our bathroom which shifted whenever I stepped on them and on the second floor in front of the elevator, the floor sags and I felt unsafe standing there. If I had the chance to do it over again, I would choose somewhere else to stay.
