At the end of April, we chose to stay at the DoubleTree by HIlton in Malta, booked via Hotels.com. We picked this hotel due to the location and amenities it offered. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff in a nice clean new looking hotel. We'd booked a double room and entered to find it setup as a twin. Dropping by the reception got this fixed whilst we were out. Then we had no hot water, requiring an engineer to have to attend to fix and finally had a broken safe, which again required an engineer to attend to fix. These were fairly minor issues and we were happy that they were resolved quickly. However, the next day, when we explored the hotel we found that most of the amenities that we had chosen the hotel for were either under construction or closed. The following are currently not open: - Gym / Fitness Centre - Spa (inc Steam room, sauna and jacuzzi) - Beach Club / Beach Access - Casino Hilton's website shows these are currently closed due to refurbishment / building works, but this is not reflected on Hotels.com or other booking sites (ebookers). A complaint was made to the hotel, via Hotels.com, but they will not add a note on the property details, this is really disappointing. This hotel will be a great hotel, the bar and onsite restaurant are top quality, we just wish they were honest about what was available for our stay. Had we known what was available for our stay, we would not have booked this hotel.

Super week at the end of August, staff were very helpful and responsive, breakfast and dining options were really good and pools were great. Room was excellent, although we didn't get the type we booked on the first night and had to move and we were disappointed that the beach club was a building site and spa not available either as this was one of the reasons for choosing the hotel and felt it was a bit of false advertising tbh. Nevertheless, stunning views, relaxing stay and despite the niggles would stay again when it was all sorted.

Wir waren mit unserer Erwachsenen Tochter in einer sehr großen Suite mit 2 Schlafzimmern und 2 Bädern und schöner Terrasse untergebracht. Wir können die Halbpension nur empfehlen, da die Auswahl an Speisen und inkludierten Getränken (Softdrinks, Bier und 3 verschiedene Weine sind im Preis enthalten) wirklich mehr als gut ist. Es gibt auch zwei zum Hotel gehörende Strandclubs mit Pools und direktem Strandzugang (Sabi und Cora) die über einen Tunnel direkt vom Hotel erreichbar sind und ebenfalls im Preis inkludiert sind. Wir können das Hotel absolut empfehlen und werden wiederkommen

Good size, clean room with a great sea view. There was a good choice of food, but being a large hotel, it was very busy at breakfast and diner. We loved the infinity pool looking out across the water with access to the Sabi restaurant and bar.The hotel is in a great location. At the end of October the redevelopmemt of Buggiba Square had started so the road was closed meaning there was a detour path around the hoarding up the street and back when walking along the promenade.

Alles was zeker in orde. Super vriendelijk personeel, heel behulpzaam zowel aan de receptie, in de restaurants als het cleaning team. We heben genoten van een lekker ontbijt, lunch en diner. Ook de andere restaurants op de locatie zoals Ombre, Sabi waren uitstekend. Genoten van de 2 mooie zwembaden en indoor pool. Mooi zeezicht vanuit de ligzetels. Winkeltjes en eetgelegenheden in de buurt. Ook openbaar vervoer in de nabijheid. Kortom, een leuke vakantie.

Es gibt sehr viele Pools und Liegemöglichkeiten. Der Strandzugang war gesperrt, man konnte über einen steinigen Steg ins Wasser. Der Ausblick aus einem Sea View Zimmer war traumhaft und das Familienzimmer mit zwei Schlafzimmern und zwei Bädern wirklich groß und schön! Wenn man sehr pingelig ist, muss man in Malta aufpassen, da die anscheinend echt Probleme mit Schimmel in den Räumen haben. Man hat es nicht gerochen und nur an der Dusche gesehen. Schalldicht würde ich die Zimmer nicht bezeichnen, man hört die Räume nebenan und auch die Autos draußen. Es war nicht störend, aber man hört es halt.

We stayed for two weeks. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. Food was great restaurant staff were outstanding. The rooms were very nice and cleaned regularly, but the corridors were tired looking and not so clean. The music from the private beach club was too loud. It was difficult to relax and enjoy the outdoor areas of the 4* hotel with the music thudding.

We have just returned from our trip to Malta. The hotel was fantastic. Public car park directly next to hotel. The hotel common areas, restaurants, pool and our room were very clean and spotless. There were always cleaners keeping the place in a great appearance. All the staff are polite and very hard working - we honestly couldn’t fault. We chose the daily breakfast option, not all inclusive - the breakfast was buffet style. Good selection of food but the quality of the food, particularly the English breakfast buffet, was not great (fried eggs were always uncooked with raw egg white, bacon was dry). The steak restaurant ( Carvv) and the Italian restaurant (Ombré) for dinner and lunch respectively were very good though - we tried them once only as we mostly ate out for lunch and dinner. Although it was also an all inclusive resort there were no fights for sunbeds by the pool first thing in the morning. We were able to find sunbeds for our family of four after our late breakfast (they have clear signs they would remove belongings on sunbeds that are unattended for more than one hour) so that was a relief. Plenty of pools for children and adults - one pool they do not allow any inflatables which is nice. Also an indoor pool. Pool depth no deeper than 1.3m in the deepest places so they were perfect for me as a non swimmer. We would definitely stay again.

Ich war mit meinem Aufenthalt sehr zufrieden. Das Zimmer war geräumig und verfügte über einen großen Balkon. Die Betten waren äußerst bequem und das gesamte Zimmer war sehr sauber. Besonders gefallen hat mir das perfekte Frühstück, das keine Wünsche offenließ. Insgesamt ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt – ich kann das Hotel definitiv weiterempfehlen.

Reste med 2 andra familjer. Vi tyckte alla att städningen var sådär. Skitiga gardiner och smutsigt golv, precis efter städningen. Vi bodde så vi hade en panoramabalkong, men som inte hade tillstymmelse med belysning, och bara 2st stolar med i pyttelitet bord. Väldigt trist att vi inte kunde få 2st stolar till, då vi var 4personer. Fast vi hade ändå inte kunnat sitta på balkongen och spelar kort på kvällen utan ljus… Frukosten var bra, en klassisk Engelsk frukost. Dock väldigt stimmigt och mycket slammer… Poolområdet var mycket bra, med flera pooler, och poolbar. Många solsängar, o h parasoll. Att slippa gå över en väg för att nå havet var kanon, och havsbadet var mycket bra, även utan sandstrand. Utnyttjade inte spa, gym eller inomhuspool.

Wir waren mit unserer Erwachsenen Tochter in einer sehr großen Suite mit 2 Schlafzimmern und 2 Bädern und schöner Terrasse untergebracht. Wir können die Halbpension nur empfehlen, da die Auswahl an Speisen und inkludierten Getränken (Softdrinks, Bier und 3 verschiedene Weine sind im Preis enthalten) wirklich mehr als gut ist. Es gibt auch zwei zum Hotel gehörende Strandclubs mit Pools und direktem Strandzugang (Sabi und Cora) die über einen Tunnel direkt vom Hotel erreichbar sind und ebenfalls im Preis inkludiert sind. Bonne nourriture très variée. Le restaurant est un endroit horriblement bruyant. Notre chambre était située en dessous d'une salle de réunion bruyante des 8 heures du matin. Double fenêtre coulissante en mauvais état et peu étanche. Très grande chambre totalement sous équipée en meubles de rangement. Idem pour la salle de bain sans meuble de rangement et étroite. Fort étonnant pour une chambre de luxe. Le personnel est sympa et fait de son mieux.

Great Location and one of the best in the area good friendly service,clean modern large Room comfortable beds and fresh linen .Restaurant Carvv is very good breakfast for on mass so nothing fresh but if you like quantity not quality fill your boots.shame about bathroom 1.3 sqm micro bathroom difficult to enter as door hits toilet.

We stayed in a family room with two bedrooms and it was fantastic. The room was really big, with lovely sea view from the balcony. The staff were beyond wonderful. So helpful, caring and made the trip with a 15 month old so easy. The only slight let down was the noise from a local beach bar which you could hear through the closed balcony doors each evening but it didn't stop us sleeping.

It was a pleasant hotel, we received an upgrade to room with a sea view because family member was "gold" Hilton honours member. Sadly room did not have sofa or table/chairs, so while the room was large it looked very empty. Breakfast, was good and we could take a little bit of breakfast out for our child who did not want to come down for breakfast. It was a reasonable hotel and staff were very pleasant.

Es gibt sehr viele Pools und Liegemöglichkeiten. Der Strandzugang war gesperrt, man konnte über einen steinigen Steg ins Wasser. Der Ausblick aus einem Sea View Zimmer war traumhaft und das Familienzimmer mit zwei Schlafzimmern und zwei Bädern wirklich groß und schön! Wenn man sehr pingelig ist, muss man in Malta aufpassen, da die anscheinend echt Probleme mit Schimmel in den Räumen haben. Man hat es nicht gerochen und nur an der Dusche gesehen. Schalldicht würde ich die Zimmer nicht bezeichnen, man hört die Räume nebenan und auch die Autos draußen. Es war nicht störend, aber man hört es halt.

Amenities were nice, room was good and staff were attentive. I did have to call housekeeping to make up the sofa bed and provide an appropriate number of towels. The air conditioning wasn't very cold and there was no complimentary water which I would have expected from this calibre of hotel.

Initially had a room facing the street, which was pretty horrendous. The view is really bad which makes it impossible to hang out on the balcony. Then the airconditioner started releasing smoke so we were moved to a different room - facing the sea/pool which was much better. All in all the hotel is a bit run down and the buffet is a bit crowded. The fact you can’t sit outside at buffet meals makes it a rather unattractive option.

At the end of April, we chose to stay at the DoubleTree by HIlton in Malta, booked via Hotels.com. We picked this hotel due to the location and amenities it offered. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff in a nice clean new looking hotel. We'd booked a double room and entered to find it setup as a twin. Dropping by the reception got this fixed whilst we were out. Then we had no hot water, requiring an engineer to have to attend to fix and finally had a broken safe, which again required an engineer to attend to fix. These were fairly minor issues and we were happy that they were resolved quickly. However, the next day, when we explored the hotel we found that most of the amenities that we had chosen the hotel for were either under construction or closed. The following are currently not open: - Gym / Fitness Centre - Spa (inc Steam room, sauna and jacuzzi) - Beach Club / Beach Access - Casino Hilton's website shows these are currently closed due to refurbishment / building works, but this is not reflected on Hotels.com or other booking sites (ebookers). A complaint was made to the hotel, via Hotels.com, but they will not add a note on the property details, this is really disappointing. This hotel will be a great hotel, the bar and onsite restaurant are top quality, we just wish they were honest about what was available for our stay. We have just returned from our trip to Malta. The hotel was fantastic. Public car park directly next to hotel. The hotel common areas, restaurants, pool and our room were very clean and spotless. There were always cleaners keeping the place in a great appearance. All the staff are polite and very hard working - we honestly couldn’t fault. We chose the daily breakfast option, not all inclusive - the breakfast was buffet style. Good selection of food but the quality of the food, particularly the English breakfast buffet, was not great (fried eggs were always uncooked with raw egg white, bacon was dry). The steak restaurant ( Carvv) and the Italian restaurant (Ombré) for dinner and lunch respectively were very good though - we tried them once only as we mostly ate out for lunch and dinner. Although it was also an all inclusive resort there were no fights for sunbeds by the pool first thing in the morning. We were able to find sunbeds for our family of four after our late breakfast (they have clear signs they would remove belongings on sunbeds that are unattended for more than one hour) so that was a relief. Plenty of pools for children and adults - one pool they do not allow any inflatables which is nice. Also an indoor pool. Pool depth no deeper than 1.3m in the deepest places so they were perfect for me as a non swimmer. We would definitely stay again.

Overall ok. The most positive part is that the majority of the staff was very kind and helpful (except the manager in Cafe Ombre, who was ice cold, never said hi, never looked you in the eyes, and basically kind of irritated all the time). The beds were rock hard and not nice st all to sleep in. The food in the Azure restaurant were good sometimes, and sometimes felt like old leftovers. So it was up and down. The desserts were great and super tasty however :)

The hotel is updated and comfortable. The view is beautiful and the food at the buffet is good and with a lot of options, as well as the cocktails and other drinks, even the ones in the all inclusive. Our room was spacious and the pool areas are nice and cool. There was limited entertainment, just live music in the evening. The airco in our room wasn't very efficient. The service at both restaurants was not great. In Juniper they were very nice, but slow. In Ombre the waiters were kind, but one of the evening hosts was not nice and even rude. At the reception it also varied. Lara was amazing welcoming us and always greeted us with a smile, but other people were less helpful and kind. When we asked for an extra bed for our son, the only one that was able to find a solution was Pepa, who was in charge of cleaning our room and did an excellent choice. In general it was a very good stay, but there are a lot of things that can be easily improved.

Excellent location with lots of restaurants to choose from if you are not all inclusive at the hotel. The buffet breakfast had an array of choices and set you up for the day. All the staff are friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay.

We really lucked out with a stay at Doubletree in St.Paul’s. We had arrived after a few busy days in Valletta. The hotel offers a resort style stay which made the rest of our time in Malta so relaxing. The location cannot be beat. There is so much within walking distance, like the aquarium, restaurants & a grocery store nearby. In fact, you don’t even need to leave the hotel. It offers many food options, including a cafe and bar by their pools. We really enjoyed their wonderful breakfast buffet - with so many options for all members of a family. The view over looking the beach is great! The hotel is very well maintained, and all staff members were so friendly and helpful. If you are after a resort like stay with great amenities and central location - we would highly recommend The Doubletree.

Good size, clean room with a great sea view. There was a good choice of food, but being a large hotel, it was very busy at breakfast and diner. We loved the infinity pool looking out across the water with access to the Sabi restaurant and bar.The hotel is in a great location. At the end of October the redevelopmemt of Buggiba Square had started so the road was closed meaning there was a detour path around the hoarding up the street and back when walking along the promenade.

I think this could be a good review to read because there was a lot happening. I had a few issues and I would say overall I’m happy with my stay and facilities. The only thing that let it down if I’m honest was the time to respond to issues and problems. But it’s a very busy hotel and I can accept it could be tricky to deal with a high number of customers. The only negative overall for me was the food. I think this could be a good review to read because there was a lot happening. I had a few issues and I would say overall I’m happy with my stay and facilities. The only thing that let it down if I’m honest was the time to respond to issues and problems. But it’s a very busy hotel and I can accept it could be tricky to deal with a high number of customers. The only negative overall for me was the food. We have just returned from our trip to Malta. The hotel was fantastic. Public car park directly next to hotel. The hotel common areas, restaurants, pool and our room were very clean and spotless. There were always cleaners keeping the place in a great appearance. All the staff are polite and very hard working - we honestly couldn’t fault. We chose the daily breakfast option, not all inclusive - the breakfast was buffet style. Good selection of food but the quality of the food, particularly the English breakfast buffet, was not great (fried eggs were always uncooked with raw egg white, bacon was dry). The steak restaurant ( Carvv) and the Italian restaurant (Ombré) for dinner and lunch respectively were very good though - we tried them once only as we mostly ate out for lunch and dinner. Although it was also an all inclusive resort there were no fights for sunbeds by the pool first thing in the morning. We were able to find sunbeds for our family of four after our late breakfast (they have clear signs they would remove belongings on sunbeds that are unattended for more than one hour) so that was a relief. Plenty of pools for children and adults - one pool they do not allow any inflatables which is nice. Also an indoor pool. Pool depth no deeper than 1.3m in the deepest places so they were perfect for me as a non swimmer. We would definitely stay again.

We thought this was an all inclusive hotel but it’s not. We only had access to the huddle for the entire time which is a waste of Monday if we cannot dine at other restaurants. And the restaurant we did go to again they limited us to having two dishes and we paid for what exactly!

Overall ok. The most positive part is that the majority of the staff was very kind and helpful (except the manager in Cafe Ombre, who was ice cold, never said hi, never looked you in the eyes, and basically kind of irritated all the time). The beds were rock hard and not nice st all to sleep in. The food in the Azure restaurant were good sometimes, and sometimes felt like old leftovers. So it was up and down. The desserts were great and super tasty however :)

We stayed at the Hilton for a week. The initial room we were put in was on the ground floor by the pool but it didn’t feel private. We spoke to reception and they did change rooms the next day so were understandable on that. There was plenty of option at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, though the food was quite hit and miss. Some times really nice, other times a bit average. The Hilton had a bistro restaurant though that was available and the food there was fantastic. Coffee was also perfect in the morning so I was pleased there was this alternative. Staff were mostly friendly but took their jobs far too seriously at times. We had an all inclusive option and as part of that their policy allowed you to order two drinks at a time on the basis they’re both for you. Where we did that we’d go to our table but kept having staff come up and reminding us of their policy. Also in the bistro restaurant there was on staff member who did on occasions make our experience uncomfortable. Good amenities with pools. We probably wouldn’t stay there again, but it was relatively a nice place to stay.

Amazing all inclusive hotel, top quality food that caters for all, branded drinks to boot too. The staff were exceptional…. With a very special mention to Niscal from the Juniper bar who made everyday we saw him memorable. Not to mention the rest of the barmen at Juniper who were very quick on serving drinks, plus the food at Juniper was delicious. Zezo, the entertainer, he should be head of operations for the animation team as he has what it takes to transform the animation team given the chance. The entertainment was very poor, out dated quizzes, and music from before 1970 and the white party that didn’t materialise as the song choices were not suited to the people who attended, and that would be my only critique on this hotel…. Revamp your entertainment and encourage them to be like Zezo…

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent staff and delicious food. It was very busy when we stayed but staff always friendly and provide great service. Never a problem finding sunbeds or getting served, We were all inclusive and didn’t notice any difference in being served. There is only one main self service restaurant which was always busy and some guests would barge past, not the hotel’s fault. Staff were brilliant at clearing away and re stocking food. No outside area and lots of families so could get noisy, but always possible to find a table. Cafe Delos was quieter and again served excellent food.

Hotel was clean & rooms were comfortable. The bathroom was clean but the shower flooded the floor everytime, you just needed to be careful as it was slippery. Our balcony didnt have a light which was strange, but we were out every night so didnt bother us. Our balcony door didnt lock either but we were on 3rd floor so again wasnt a major concern. Overall we would stay again.

Everything about our stay was fantastic. The rooms were clean and the breakfast buffet was easily one of the highlights of the hotel. Every member of the staff was helpful and friendly, but Nina at the front desk deserves a extra big thank you for being so helpful and kind. I would book again!
