Contemplacion Resort & Spa

Contemplación is a lovely complex consisting of approximately 10 separate bungalows surrounding grapevines, lavender patches and flowers. There are walking paths through the foliage with several benches and cabanas. The restaurant Salvia Blanca is centrally located on the property. The pool and spa are at the top of the hill and offer views of the valley. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing 2 night stay. Everyone was helpful and friendly and we never felt unsafe. The owners have a dog rescue adjacent to the property so we got to pet some of the sweet resident rescue dogs. Like many other hotels in VDG, this is off the beaten path and involves a 10 min drive on a bumpy dirt road to get to it. I can imagine it would be difficult to find in the dark. We would love to go back to Contemplación next time we return to VDG!

Beautiful property, after checking in we went to the pool and hot tub with great views. Then at night we dine at the outdoor restaurant (salmon and octopus) and a guitarist was playing and singing nice smooth music. After checking out we went for the included breakfast to Salvia Blanca restaurant and finish with a delicious french toast.

We planned a last-minute trip to Valle de Guadalupe for our anniversary, booking the hotel the night before we left. The staff confirmed our reservation right away & provided prompt communication via WhatsApp. As we drove down, they helped confirm reservations for breakfast at the on-site restaurant the next day, as well as massage appointments. Check in was a breeze & we were directed to our lovely cabin, which faced the west and had a terrace with a fire pit—cozy for watching the sunset. The cabin also had a floor to ceiling window so we could sleep watching the stars & wake at sunrise. We picked this place because it had a vineyard on site and we enjoyed walking around the vines to enjoy the views, relax at the various gazebos, and read the meditative quotes. While we initially worried it would be busy and noisy as a resort, the spacing of the cabins made it feel very secluded. We enjoyed breakfast at the outdoor terrace at Salvia Blanca, which has plenty of shade and then had the best massage from Kristy at Samsara spa. Her attention to pressure and also stretching was an amazing combo. I took a dip in the pool, while my husband used the gym. They had two bands perform at Salvia during lunch and dinner service that we enjoyed from our terrace and from the pool as we had meals planned elsewhere. Area was well maintained and very secure.

We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The breakfast that is included was amazing, the pool has beautiful views and we really enjoyed the fire pits at night.

Had a wonderful stay at Contemplacion Hotel. Check in & check out was quick & easy. Room & bathroom was spacious, clean & bright. The room had a small kitchenette, which was very convenient. The Samsara spa was amazing! The Salvia Blanca restaurant was fabulous - great food, ambience & excellent service.

Favorite hotel in valley Guadeloupe . Staff and accommodations left nothing desired , dinners at the restaurant were spectacular pool, hot tub and gym were all perfect , I recommend this place to everyone and will stay there again

The rooms were unique with the wonderful window and view. It was very difficult to get to my room (cabin 3) especially with luggage. The jacuzzi was useless since it was too cold. The gym could have had more varied machines.

The restaurant had amazing food and wonderful service. The only negative was that during our stay, their maintenance people decided to sand and do maintenance on our patio chairs in front of our fire pit, which did not allow us to use our fire pit.

There was dirty furniture in the room and the table the sits outside the room was also dirty with cigarette ashes and food. In the pool area, the glass around the pool area was so dirty you could no see through it. It was ashamed that the pool has such a beautiful view, but you could not enjoyed it because of the dirty glass.

Staff, pool, room was fantastic. The views from the room was so peaceful with white sage, lavender and rosemary planted through out the property really set relaxing setting. The masseuse, live music in the evening and the food on premise was A grade 10/10. I would definitely come back. If you press me on to nippick on something. - I would probably say we needed more hangers in the room and Gym needs some updating but extremely minor in my eyes.

Excellent stay, clean rooms, great staff and the restaurant was amazing

I chose Contemplacion Hotel in Valle de Guadalupe for its beautiful appearance and seemingly clean rooms. Initially, everything seemed fine, but I quickly discovered a major issue with the cleanliness of the sheets and towels. Unfortunately, we had to switch rooms late at night due to dirty linens, and the second room was no better. The staff, especially the gentleman who helped us move, was very apologetic and clearly embarrassed, which I appreciated. However, for the price we paid, I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness. While the hotel itself is lovely and the service is friendly, the lack of proper hygiene was a serious letdown. I would think twice about staying here again unless they improve their cleaning practices.

The views are amazing here. Our room had the perfect view of mountains & beautiful butterflies fluttering around all day long. We were also close to the restaurant & this provided for constant serenading from sun rise to sun down which we really enjoyed. The restaurant was great. Service was on point. The only negative was the bathroom. The shower was not pleasant & didn’t match the rest of the room at all in that it was very low quality construction. The shower was also dirty with bunches of long, black hair all over the ground,

Difrent from two year ago in food end in cleanliness spend ther three nights they never change the towels they never chage the blanket,end the room was never well clean

We only had a single night as we celebrated my wife's birthday, but we feel we chose very well. A relaxing location with an absolutely phenomenal restaurant. The cabin was clean, the staff are super friendly and responsive, and my wife and another friend both loved the spa treatments. We'll be back to the restaurant for sure, but another stay will also be in our future.

The service was great from the beginning, the room was clean and contemporary, the projector was a really cool touch. And the included breakfast was amazing!

The hotel setting is very unique. Beautiful property and beautiful views. Each room is an individual cabin with stunning views, floor to ceiling glass.

Rooms have an amazing view. Lovely huge windows that overlook the valley. However, those windows are a double edged sword. There is a walkway that passed literally in front of the windows. People walk by looking into the rooms, makes you feel like you're an attraction at an aquarium. Bed linen, mattress. and towels felt cheap and very worn. The bed sheets came off the mattress very easily during the night. Found what looked like a tiny blood stain on one of the pillows the first night we were there. Something I find extremely annoying is ordering something from the menu and being told they don't have it. 5 different bottles of wine weren't available. I felt cheated with the price I paid.

Amazing property, amazing rooms, we loved our stay there! Only problem was there were dogs barking throughout the night outside our room. I think it was from a neighboring property and likely not from another guest, but it did make falling asleep quite difficult.

Minisplit hot air didn't work ( cold night)

Great location very peaceful the downfall not too many foods option no T.V had a projector, but the sound system was not working and outside firepit was not working. but again, location the staff was outstanding.

This property is minutes away from big vineyards so it was convenient to get around. The staff was amazing. My car got stuck in one of the roads during a rainy day, and they were answering every text and phone call trying to get me help. So thankful with how attentive they were. They also were able to help me arrange an extra night stay in the same cabin and get me a private driver to get back to the US.

I’ve been staying here for years and didn’t want the world to find out about it because it was such a hidden gem. And I knew what would happen when it did and that’s exactly what I got on my last visit. It’s overpriced, the staff is not helpful, and it feels like they are just trying to gouge, not provide a memorable experience. To give you an example, the restaurant onsite is a pizza restaurant, basic American and Mexican food and they have a wood fired pizza oven. Our bill for 2 people for dinner was $180 USD! One cocktail each. And there was a charge on there for how they prepared the Caesar salad. Are you serious? It’s a cute hotel a step or two above glamping because there is plumbing and limited hot water. And they are trying to charge like a 5 diamond resort with a James beard chef. Crazy. We won’t be back, if we want to spend the money we’ll stay at one of the many luxury options moving into the area to capitalize on tourists.

Besides the beauty of the property, the staff was awesome. Jaime, Viridiana, Ricardo, Laura, Julio, Leo, Javier, Adrian, Edgar, and Christian were very accommodating. They happily answered our questions before and during our stay. They kindly helped up with our Spanish and made every moment memorable. The bungalow was clean; the views were breath taking; the food at Salvia Blanca was amazing. Highly recommend. I will be back. Drive a car that can handle dirty roads.

First off the staff gives you 5 star service as soon as you arrive. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The free breakfast is delicious, they have a great dinner and lunch also. The amenities are all well taken care and fully functional. Staff always checking if everything is going well. Recomend 100 percent!

This is a wonderful place. It is the ideal location to enjoy peace, and tranquility. The staff is very professional, responsive and attentive.

After driving 5-10 minutes on a dirt road you arrive at this lovely and quiet property on a vineyard. Our room was gorgeous and very clean, we enjoyed the hot tub with a sunset view, and also enjoyed working out in the gym. We experienced several incredible meals at the restaurant with fantastic food and service. Also, the grounds are delightful with many sitting areas, cute little paths and well-designed photo opportunities and many fire pits. There are loads of amazing wineries and restaurants nearby. We would definitely come back. We came alone and agreed that there’s not a lot for kids to do here. I’m glad we didn’t bring ours.

Great location in the middle of the valle located on a small mountain so you have views from your room. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Everything was good, the only bad thing is the road to get there, you need to put pavement Google maps didn’t even know the way there

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Contemplacion and will be back with friends and family. The habitations and grounds are wonderful and the views of the valley are incredible. Even with some cold weather, the grounds offer many fireside options. The food and drinks at the restaurant, indoors and outdoors, was excellent and reasonably priced. The still new pool and jacuzzi were very nice as well with wonderful views. Like most options in the valley, the road from the highway to the hotel was a dirt road in pretty good condition that our Honda CRV more than handled. While you probably don´t want to travel on the roads afterdark without knowing the terrain, once you get to Contemplacion, there is no reason to leave in the evenings. We highly recommend Contemplacion as a reasonably priced, top end property that couples will thoroughly enjoy.

Property is nice and well appointed, pool is gorgeous, rooms are comfortable. Location is in the middle of the Valle with very difficult roads and some drivers won't come out to that location if you request a car. We found ourselves driving a very harrowing and mud filled route to get to dinner one night. Next time we will choose a location closer to a main road.

We enjoyed a clean, quiet, comfortable, and modern cabin in a pretty hillside garden setting. The staff was very kind and accommodating, and the restaurant was terrific (best "concha" baked sweet bread I have had anywhere). There are other excellent restaurants and great wineries in the area. The resort is in an area off the main highway that is accessed by dirt roads. We had no problem getting there in a Toyota Camry, but if you have something more rugged--even a minivan--that is better, of course. But this advice even applies to paved roads in Mexico, with their many potholes and speed bumps. We highly recommend Contemplacion Resort & Spa.

The Valle de Guadalupe wine region is still in its infancy but quickly expanding. If you ever thought about buying land and planting your own vineyard, now is the time here. In general it feels like they are still trying to figure out what grape varietal grows best in what areas of the valley here. But the wines are still enjoyable to drink and the food offerings are simply amazing; from the Troika food truck at Vena Cava to Fauna restaurant at Bruma. Exceptional. And don’t forget to change it up a little with some exquisite mezcal cocktails at the garlic-shaped building of Bloodlust. Hotel Contemplación is a beautiful property that feels like it is in the center of everything in the Valley. The modern individual cabins are fully-stocked and situated on a hill overlooking the valley with rocks, natural vegetation, and vineyards running through them with well-lit pathways up to the pool (with an amazing view), or down to the restaurant. Aside from the massive amounts of birds singing and an occasional dog barking in the distance, the nights here are very quiet, and stars are extremely vibrant. The property is gated-in with a security guard at the entrance and another walking the property, so we felt 100% safe here for anyone who is concerned about that. But quite honestly, we saw nothing on our trip that made us feel uneasy. The staff were super-friendly. Plan a trip to Valle for a few days (weekdays are much less crowded than the weekends), and stay at Contemplación.

I loved the customer service. Such a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Clean and gorgeous rooms. The restaurant Salvia Blanca was excellent with Christian taking care of us. High quality great tasting food and cocktails. I would definitely come back and highly recommend. The cherry on top was having the pleasure to meet the owner. Such an admirable person.

The property was unique with good facilities like a nice pool, and a restaurant. One small complaint is that the food was very expensive. For example, a plate of ribs costs $50 US dollars. I dont see why it is so expensive.

Make sure you check the conversation rate for your currency when you eat at the restaurant, or you could be in for a shock.

We are so glad we found this place! Everything was excellent! Our room was perfect and the food was so good! Still thinking about the octopus taco... The people that work there are so kind and attentive, helping us with anything we needed. Can't wait to go back!
