Beer is an amazing location, the anchor inn is a chain pub and you get the same old churned out microwave heated chain pub grub, it’s ok but nothing special (there’s a fisherman selling fresh fish less than 50 yards away , yet no fresh fish dishes) Rooms were ok but again nothing special, windows didn’t prevent any noise, curtains didn’t stop a lot of light, bathroom not as clean as they should be and on the whole the staff seem really unhappy with life and it appears not too concerned about their guests. I would rush back to Beer but I wouldn’t rush back to the Anchor Inn

Excellent location with generous double room facing the sea. Staff worked on our behalf with enthusiasm, efficiency and good humour always. We enjoyed perfectly prepared meals in a relaxing setting with characterful references reminiscent of Beer’s fishing heritage. The building was tired, externally and internally.
