Small boutique hotel above a restuarant. Arrival.into resturant was ok but unusual! Bedroom.very nice, quite queit and weĺl decorated. No.aircon, reasonable heating but odd thrmostat. Auto lights in toilet and shower.no iron which was a shame, but i could have asked for one, but there is no reception after hours just a phone number. Resturant food was a solid 7 out of 10. I ate from the table dhote, and i ate escargots, beef bourginon, and ice cream, no wine. 50 was ok but all dishes whilst good were not exceptional. I recently ate escargot at TheWolsey in London, they set the standard! Breakfast was eye wateringly expensive at 25 quid. I had a fantastic fresh fruit salad, eggs florentine, toast and marmalade. The tea was terrible, served in a lovely pot but insipid and flavourless. They need decent leaf tea at the price. The orange juice was ok but like the tea, could be better. Service was excellent all round and the stay overall quite good. Its a nice hotel for couples away for the weekend.

Really great boutique hotel / restaurant, think the name gives away the sort of menu you get with a well stocked bar & wine cellar. The parking was easy. The food is excellent & staff knowledgable, friendly & helpful. The rooms have been given an upgrade & are in a fantastic modern style with really comfy kingsize bed.

The rooms are modern with tech and design. Push buttons for almost everything- great! It’s a little weird to “check in” via the restaurant, this was the only awkward part. The rooms become rather warm when it rains as the automatic sensors close then windows when it rains

The staff went above and beyond when we were running late to ensure we were able to get into our room. They even deep cleaned my room before arrival to assist with my potential allergies. It really made our stay wonderful. I can most definitely recommend! Only note to be aware is the bedrooms are upstairs and you need to be able to carry your bags up to them.

Amazing stay! Beautiful room with high spec. Lots of little extra touches to make it feel extra special. Spotlessly clean. Good shower. Every single member of staff was helpful, knowledgeable and so pleasant. We also had a stunning meal in the restaurant. Just a short walk along the river into town. Free parking behind the building. We’re already planning our next visit and have told friends about it. Highly recommend.

Be advised, no elevators and steep narrow stairway to your room. Also your bed is in a upstairs loft and the bathroom is on the first floor. Makes it tough for a midnight bathroom brake. Room was beautiful and the staff was great. If you like stairs, this hotel is for you.

Beautiful place, the room was gorgeous, lovely bath, decor amazing, my only disappointment was missing the owners sausage dog as it was their day off. We ate in the restaurant food and service was top notch, every staff member we came into contact with was so lovely. Hope to go back soon

Stunning boutique hotel with superbly designed, extremely stylish luxury rooms. Gorgeous rain shower. Thoughtful touches and everything you could need for a wonderful stay. Attached is a smart French restaurant with a superb reputation if you’d like a luxurious evening meal or breakfast too! Very short walk to Lancaster town centre, the castle, Judges Lodgings etc and countryside walks with views just to the rear of the hotel. Parking permit for the car park to the rear was provided for the duration of our visit. Totally recommend!

One of the very nicest places I've stayed for any reason, and for a last-minute solo work trip, a real pleasure. Staff gave such a warm welcome. Room was beautifully and generously appointed, and a dozen thoughtful touches (coffee maker, several types of tea, well-adjustable lighting, glass bottles or big reusable toiletries, eye mask, pillow spray, truffles, as a non-exhaustive list). I was struck by how utterly immaculately clean it was – not a speck of anything anywhere. I also had supper in the restaurant, and I can only say I thought you could only eat that well in London, where it would have been twice the price easily. Absolutely first-rate. I will dream of the potatoes dauphinoise, and of particular note is how well-chosen and well-priced the carte de digestifs was. Had I not a day of meetings to follow, I might have done some real damage!

We stayed for the night in ashton suite for my partners 50th birthday , it was beautiful . The room was stunning , clean and had everything you might need or forgotten . We ate in the restraunt, we both thought the food was amazing . We had oysters , chipolatas, venison , and lobster and steak for mains . The best we've ever tasted . The staff we're so attentive and friendly . Would most definatley stay and eat here again 🙂

We stayed in the Ashton and it was a beautiful suit very spacious. The only one thing is the is no wash basin in the toilet apart from that everything was perfect.

Superb experience from start to finish. We were greeted by Laura who is an amazing host. She made us feel welcome from the moment we walked into the hotel. The room was the Ashton suite at the front of the hotel with a lovely view of the water. The suite was beautiful and just the right size for 2 people. We managed to get a table in the restaurant for dinner last minute so l would recommend booking this as soon as possible. The staff and food were amazing. Breakfast the next morning, was a perfect ending to a wonderful stay. I completely understand now why so many reviews are people who return here. Thank you to the staff and chefs who go above and beyond to make your experience special. P.S, glad you liked the cactus! 😂

Really lovely rooms, love the Dr Vranjes diffusers, the little treats and extra touches. We enjoyed attentive and friendly service from all of the staff, with a lovely evening meal in the restaurant and a super breakfast with endless coffee, toast etc and super friendly service that morning which was a lovely start to a difficult day for the group. We were looked after really well and I have no hesitation recommended this charming place. Worth the cost for sure. Many thanks

First time staying here. Fantastic location on the river, and a short walk to the city centre. Was given a suite room, which is highly spec'd and has everything you could ever need, including nice small touches which make a difference (the sleep pillow spray and choc truffles). Will be using QSF for my future stays in Lancaster for work.

Fantastic boutique hotel. Really a great restaurant with fantastic rooms. The only criticisms I would share is that the location isn’t quite in the city centre. The walk from the ring road wasn’t far, but road felt v dark and quiet late at night. We don’t know Lancaster that well but on walk back at around 11:30pm we were a bit nervous admittedly. Rooms themselves are 5 star quality, as was breakfast in the morning (an additional £20 pp). At night entry is via a key code as there isn’t a late night porter or reception, which ideally should be added bearing in mind cost per night

Lovely hotel in a good location, not far walk in to town. Rooms are amazing and can’t fault them at all. Can’t comment on food as didn’t eat in the restaurant but if it’s as good as the rooms it would be fantastic

Stunning boutique hotel with superbly designed, extremely stylish luxury rooms. Gorgeous rain shower. Thoughtful touches and everything you could need for a wonderful stay. Attached is a smart French restaurant with a superb reputation if you’d like a luxurious evening meal or breakfast too! Very short walk to Lancaster town centre, the castle, Judges Lodgings etc and countryside walks with views just to the rear of the hotel. Parking permit for the car park to the rear was provided for the duration of our visit. Totally recommend!

Amazing stay! Beautiful room with high spec. Lots of little extra touches to make it feel extra special. Spotlessly clean. Good shower. Every single member of staff was helpful, knowledgeable and so pleasant. We also had a stunning meal in the restaurant. Just a short walk along the river into town. Free parking behind the building. We’re already planning our next visit and have told friends about it. Highly recommend.

I have stayed several times and eaten there often too. I don’t really enjoy travelling for work but I really look forward to my stays here. The breakfast is delicious and the atmosphere is chilled out. The steak is unmissable in the evening.

Superb experience from start to finish. We were greeted by Laura who is an amazing host. She made us feel welcome from the moment we walked into the hotel. The room was the Ashton suite at the front of the hotel with a lovely view of the water. The suite was beautiful and just the right size for 2 people. We managed to get a table in the restaurant for dinner last minute so l would recommend booking this as soon as possible. The staff and food were amazing. Breakfast the next morning, was a perfect ending to a wonderful stay. I completely understand now why so many reviews are people who return here. Thank you to the staff and chefs who go above and beyond to make your experience special. P.S, glad you liked the cactus! 😂

A really great find! Un peu de cuisine française en Angleterre! Service is excellent, food is so good 10 isn’t enough. They actually know what a ‘kir’ is and the steak comes with a béarnaise thats perfectly made and at the right temperature. The dauphinoise potato was unspeakably good. The rooms are excellent, you can tell that someone has sat and thought about all the little details. Honestly, if you are anywhere near Lancaster for any reason and can find any excuse, you should eat and stay here. We are defo going back.

Beautiful place, the room was gorgeous, lovely bath, decor amazing, my only disappointment was missing the owners sausage dog as it was their day off. We ate in the restaurant food and service was top notch, every staff member we came into contact with was so lovely. Hope to go back soon

Perfect hotel, great attention to detail, with rooms decorated fantastically. If staying in Lancaster, eating at the restaurant is a must, exceptional food. Staff were very helpful, ensuring our stay was plesant. Overall a great restaurant, with fabulous rooms.
