Hotel Shibari - Restaurant & Cenote Club

Beautiful location and a truly unique experience with the hotel surrounding a cenote. Great staff and tasty food and drinks. The gym is open air Which made it tough to use in August. Would recommend for a couple. Great place to unwind.

Hotel Shibari is a wonderful place to stay in Tulum. It is very secure and safe, tranquil, and all of the staff are efficient, professional, and friendly. They had options to rent bikes and scooters, and had a nice restaurant along with room service.

We were looking for a top-tier experience; however, we didn't want the high energy of the beach club/hotels. Hotel Shibari was our oasis. The hotel life is centered around the cenote. Mornings are quiet, with ambient music. In the afternoons, a DJ plays dance music, but a lighter version of the beach club scene. Swimming in the cenote is amazing - clear water, abundant fish, perfect temperature to cool off after relaxing in the sun. The staff are always available to address your needs, food and drink, sunblock, snacks, etc. When we wanted more privacy, the pool and hot tub area was often empty, and the swim-up bar was great!

everything was great besides the pool and Jacuzzi being out of service for our whole stay .

Hotel Shibari was absolutely incredible. Excellent location right in the middle of all the action but quiet on the property and peaceful. Included breakfast is glorious and ample. Cenote on site was lovely, outdoor small pool with swim up bar was fun and great for taking a dip late at night, jacuzzi was big and pleasant. Rooms are clean and spacious. Outdoor seating on private porch so enjoyable for morning coffee. Butler service was exceptionally helpful and the staff in general are totally on it. Spa service was a great set up - maybe not the most amazing massage I have ever gotten but they create a whole experience and think of all the details which was lovely. Yoga was excellent. I suppose if it’s important to you to be able to roll out of bed and go to the beach then you would want a beachside hotel (this is jungle side) but we were perfectly happy with utilizing the free access to the partner beach clubs and lounging at the cenote on off hours. In some ways it was nice to have access to multiple beach clubs because we got yo try a few free of charge with no minimum spend. Food in Tulum is crazy expensive heads up, this hotel was usual pricing for the area and quality was great.

Breakfast at Atta was so relaxing. The soft music and stillness of the cenote in the morning was so peaceful. Overall a very relaxing stay. Ham at the swim up bar in the small pool was the best. He was very attentive and friendly. Beds were comfortable and rooms were set up nicely. We loved the convenience of bike check out and moto rentals at the hotel. Within walking distance to popular restaurants and beach clubs. I will stay here again when back in Tulum.

Shibari Tulum is MAGICAL. The pictures don’t even do it justice. The resort is beautiful, relaxing and fun and the staff is overly friendly and accommodating. Fernando, Danny, George, Jorge, Natalia, Yahaira, Francisco, Karla, and all the other Shibari staff made our weeklong stay absolutely perfect. We celebrated our engagement there, they surprised us with a bottle of champagne and a beautiful note when we entered. The cenote is breathtaking and one the coolest places I’ve ever swam. Be sure to ask for goggles to get the full cenote experience. The beach is 2 minute walk and they have amazing partnership with nearby beach clubs where you can relax on beach chairs or a cabana for free. The town outside of the resort is SO COOL, clean, safe, and so fun! Shibari is right next to a police station with armed guards so you know it’s safe. THE FOOD IN TULUM, especially Shibari, was some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. Any review that says the music is too loud at Shibari, is just confusing to me. It’s completely silent and peaceful all morning and early afternoon, and then a DJ plays chill vibe type music for a few hours at the Cenote, which we absolutely loved as we hung, had drinks, and ate near the cenote. The rooms are pristine and they have complimentary turn down service multiple times per day. The air conditioning in the room was AMAZING and kept us cold during 98 degree nights! Be sure to take a free Yoga class as well, it is so relaxing. Cannot wait to come back!!

Drinks and staff were great. Didn’t get to experience swim up bar as pool/hottub was surprisingly closed for construction (no notice) and the cenote was shut down which was a real bummer - wish warnings or heads up were given.

It rained before our arrival and the cenote was not usable and closed. The pools were also under maintenance. We decided to change our hotel. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. We got refunded in full. As we didn't stay in the hotel, I cannot comment much on it other than saying the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I can’t say enough about this property . Not only do they go above and belong for you, but they are super kind and sweet . Check-in is a breeze and staff is always willing to help. The location is perfect! It’s on the beach/ hotel zone so it’s in the middle of all of the popular beach club/ restaurants in hotel zonerela and also, it’s only 20 mins from down town so proximity is good. The airport is about 50 mins away ( TQO) but it’s still pretty good. Only downfall is the limited menus/ pricy items on the menu, but that’s standard in the hotel zone ( this area is known for over priced food and drinks, as most of Tulum is) . The grounds 10/10. You don’t have to waste your time and money going to the other beach clubs it’s the same thing but this hotel is better as it has its own Cenote . Free parking is a plus. The room was SPOTLESS and spacious. The pictures do not give it enough credit and the bed is extremely comfortable. I will be staying here again my next time in Tulum.

Easily one of the best resorts I have ever stayed at. The cenote is incredible and was so fun to explore. The grounds and accommodations are immaculate, and the staff made every aspect of our stay a perfect 10/10 experience.

La limpieza que realizan en el cuarto no es buena, solo tiendan la cama. Se cobra el servicio desde la instancia y los empleados solicitan adicional, la comida es mala y cara.

Beautiful hotel. Room could have been cleaner. There were stray hairs (from multiple ppl) on the rug, in the shower, by the pool. Floor felt gritty so i don't think they are swept/vacuumed regularly- I just wore the provided slippers and was ok. But the room was spacious and comfortable with functioning AC, the plunge pool also functioned well. Had to request the outdoor lamps be fixed, and they were. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I rented a Bali Bed but got rained out after only an hour and it wasnt usable the rest of the day- I was approached the next day at breakfast where they offered to set it up again for me since the weather was better. No hassle! Appreciated the complimentary bottle of prosecco and cake left in my room for my birthday too. Restaurant on site was GREAT. Must get the shrimp taco! Hotel is walkable to other great dining options and little boutiques- its right on the strip, but with great security- felt safe on and off property ad a solo female traveler. Highly recommended!

I have been to Tulum 3 times and by far this has been the best hotel. Super Clean, location is perfect, food is amazing, great staff and BEAUTIFUL hotel

The hotel was good but the food was overpriced and water was stingily distributed 2 bottles a day lots of mosquitoes and jacuzzi was bit dirty and timmed not very cool… I will not return

O Hotel é muito belo e o apartamento espaçoso, porem não entrega o que se propoem! Optei por um apartamento com jacuzzi, e nos 03 dias que passamos por lá ela não ficava quente. Somente no ultimo dia é que consertaram essa questão, ou seja, paguei a mais por algo que não usei. Alem disso ela fica localizada na frente do apartamento, junto ao transito de pessoas, sem privacidade nenhuma. Na primeira noite, tive um grilo no quarto, que não nos deixou dormir. Optamos tambem por um hotel com cafe da manha incluso, porem cobravam taxa de serviço de 15% sobre o cafe da manha, ou seja, nao estava totalmente incluso na diaria!

Really nice room, staff were great. We asked to change room because of the late night noise of the beach clubs, it was a lot less noisy towards the rear of the hotel bungalows. Cenote was amazing to have as a backdrop, and look at every night before bed.

One of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed at (worldwide). The good: staff, dining, real cenote in the property, architecture, bohemian environment The bad: due to the beautiful architecture, walls and glasses are too thin and do not isolate noise properly. Beware that the hotel is in the middle of the Tulum party spots! The ugly: we stayed 6 nights and they could not fix our jacuzzi in the whole period. Overall, great experience and looking forward to return soon!

Absolutely amazing stay at the Shibari!! Only minor downfall is if you don’t like loud music, it can be loud at night form jungle raves. However, the service is the best one ever received, extremely friendly staff. Amazing cenote and perfect location!!!

First time in Tulum and Hotel Shibari did not disappoint!! It’s a private, quiet hotel perfect for couples. The rooms are huge and ours had its own private hot tub. The highlight is the beautiful cenote that you can relax at in day beds or at the restaurant. It’s walking distance to all the beach clubs and great restaurants. The service was exceptional from check in to check out. 10/10 Highly recommend Hotel Shibari

I stayed at the Shibari Hotel for only one night with my boyfriend and the staff were super friendly and polite. The check in was amazing. We were greeted with a cold hand towel and water and we sit down and the receptionist come to us for the check in. Highly recommended the hotel.

The resort was outstanding, very calm and relaxing. The best was however the staff, couldnt be more attentive, truly amazing.

The hotel staff is absolutely amazing at hotel Shibari. Diego especially made me and my girlfriends stay absolutely amazing.

The hotel itself is ok but they try to rip you off any opportunity they get. We asked for a taxi from the concierge and they said we need to wait 1.5hrs for a taxi . Then when we were ready to find our own taxi, they came back and said they found a taxi which they regularly work with - Elizabeth name of taxi driver. For a 2 min ride , she charged us $40 US!!! When dropping us off at our destination, the hotel called her while we were still in the cab and asked her how much she charged us and it was obvious that there was going to be compensation kick back to the hotel after ripping us for a meezy $40 . Pretty pathetic considering how much business we have them.

The Staff , was the most attentive, I’ve experienced in all my global travels. The Cenote, was beautiful, transformative, haha. The food , the room , jacuzzi were awesome as well . The one negative for me was the music , from surrounding properties, made it hard for me to sleep . My Partner had no issues , said she slept well.

We had the best time!! The staff is outstanding! Everyone made us feel like they were happy we were there. Gerardo was the absolute BEST butler!! We were celebrating our son’s birthday and he helped make everything perfect. They even decorated his room with balloons, banners, chocolate strawberries, a slice of cake and a happy birthday sign. He was so surprised when we got back from our sailing expedition. Gerardo also helped us choose the closet excursions. Being able to sit out at the ocean was a plus too!! A few of the local hotels let us stay on their beach club without paying a fee (Shibari has an agreement with some of them) the cenote was beautiful. It will be nicer when the pool is completed. We enjoyed the experience of swimming in the cenote I just prefer a pool. The partner hotels let us swim there. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Great place to stay

Steep and absurd hidden fees. I had paid a rate that included breakfast only to find out that “the breakfast service fees” weren’t included in the price I paid. I also reached the hotel to be invoiced a hidden resort fee was forced to pay a leonine deposit of 200 usd per day reserved. The hotel staff are constantly trying to get ahold of your money: they even tried to charge me for changing my breakfast eggs from “scrambled” to “boiled”. The restaurant fees are ridiculous too. They charged me nearly 60 usd for a plate of cauliflower soaked in oil. Customer service is very bad as well and the services offered are deceptive. They for example say that bikes are offered complementarily but never have any. They say that you are entitled to free water bottles per day but delay in giving them to you. Ultimately, while the hotel’s cenote is nice to view, the place is not worth it. You cant even swim in the cenote for a great part of the day (only from 11 am-6 pm) and there is also a loud dj for a part of the afternoon which makes the experience overwhelming. The hotel’s policies are ultimately abusive. Hotel staff treat you like a walking and breathing ATM. We moved over to La Valise (a better and more luxurious hotel) and had a way nicer time.

The hotel itself was super nice with a cenote, which is quite unique, but the service was sub-par. There are a lot of staff always lounging around chatting and chilling but not actually servicing. Asking for water and coffee milk at breakfast took forever, again with the staff just chit chatting near us but not actually getting the water or milk. The “butler service” was also a bit useless. At check out we waited for 10 minutes for someone to help us with luggage (Butler said they were on it) but ended up just carrying them ourselves. Basically the hotel is just very disorganized and seems like there’s no management. It’s a good hotel if you don’t care about service basically!

Hotel Shibari was amazing. I suggest staying here when u visit Tulum. Its also plenty of resturants and shops walking distance from the property

Where it is located is very close to everything, the workers are very attentive and the hotel is very clean and everything is very organized.

This is a very well-run hotel and one of the nicest in the Tulum hotel-district. The prices are reasonable and the staff is attentive and helpful. The cenote and surrounding deck are very attractive and relaxing and you will be very well looked after. The two less attractive aspects of this establishment for us were the limited menu at the main restaurant (seriously, there are only four or five decent dishes) and the incessant rave style music played a DJ 18 hours a day. Seriously, it is akin to water torture and disturbs what is otherwise a lovely peaceful area. One other detail worth noting is the difficulty getting in and out of the "hotel/beach area". Taxis there notoriously charge $50-60 each way just to take you to and from the hotels area to the "downtown" shopping area- which is only about 4.5 miles away. Also, stores and restaurants near the hotel charge a premium for modest/average merchandise and service because... once you are there in the hotel area you are literally a captive audience - not the fault of the hotel, of course. Just FYI

The place is so beautiful, cenote and music really relaxing and the spa is a must. The food at the restaurant is great, service can be improved. Butler service was not intrusive just on point and helpful.

We had dinner every night, which was fantastic, and the staff was really kind. It was our first time at Intulum, and we absolutely loved it.

It was absolutely amazing! Romantic, quiet, relaxing, beautiful. Staff was great. Room was awesome and had great amenities. We had breakfast at their restaurant twice and it was fantastic.
