Stayed 1 night

The staff were friendly, the food quality was good. We were told that we could order a cooked breakfast after 9.30am because of the chef's preferred time of arrival, which was disappointing but we could have a continental breakfast before 9.30am. The rooms were clean and tidy but looked tired and needing some decorative tlc. The room's radiator was on full and could not be turned down or off; a window was left open, which helped to keep the room cooler. We felt our stay was pleasant enough for one night.

Stayed 2 nights

The service upon arrival was outstanding. We stayed in the Watermill room which was on the small side. Unfortunately the temperature on the 2 nights that we stayed was very high and the small window and upright fan was really not sufficient to cool the room down much. There was no mirror in the actual room, only in the bathroom so someone couldn't get ready whilst someone else was in the bathroom, i found this a real inconvenience. We ate in the hotel on the 1st night. The food was very tasty but expensive for what it was. We ordered the rump of lamb and all it came with was some peas and a jus but no potatoes or chips. The meals were a disappointing size portion. The continental breakfast was great and the bed was comfortable. The choice of teas of great along with the extra toiletries.
