Dean's Home Budapest

Dean’s Home Budapest was an overall good experience. Visiting from U.S., we were hotel patrons (not students - as this can second as student housing, I think). We stayed over Xmas & left just prior to New Year’s. Sadly, all businesses in the area were closed 12/25 &12/26 (holiday) & Sundays. There were 2 convenience stores, Spar & Penny, next door to the hotel which, would have been fantastic if they were open thru the holiday. (Not the hotel’s fault of course). We ate DAILY at Crazy Dean’s restaurant (part of hotel). This restaurant alone made our stay worth it! The buffet style food was delicious, reasonably priced, & staff was pleasant. (Cost: 11€/day or pay in advance for 9€). For us, with so many businesses closed, this was open & wonderful to have access to for breakfast. Our room: A good price for the holiday stay. Not sure if we got a room meant for student housing, but the main room was quite small& up steep stairs was a tiny loft w/ a 2nd bed (which we never used). The main bed was literally wall to wall (as pictured on their site), leaving just enuf room for luggage. The room contained refrigerator, electric water pot, & hairdryer. Small closet & shelf for shoes, which saved space. The room was very clean overall, and the bed EXTREMELY comfortable (also making our stay pleasant)! Amenities: Gym was well kept & clean (we loved it!) & the small laundromat was very convenient. Hotel is also close to a subway station (just a short walk). Overall: Recommended

Extremely thought through hotel. The room was like a small apartment with a small kitchen. Very friendly staff. Nice size gym. Good breakfast (there were doughnuts), Huge lounge with a biljard table. Lovely roof terrace where you could bring your own food and drink. It looked like they were building a bar. Convenience store right next door. Plenty of restaurants and cafes in walking distance. A 30 minute walk to the city center. Would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Budapest.

A very short walk from the metro station, with 24 hour reception and English speaking staff. A warm welcome and a fantastic place to stay for a city break on a budget, just a short metro ride from the centre. Cool and modern design, with comfy bedding in quiet rooms with really good facilities. Our rooms with a balcony were great, and included cooking facilities and cutlery. Good aircon.

Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, die Lage mit ca. 3 Gehminuten zur nächsten Metrostation perfekt. Schöne Dachterrasse und ein gutes Gym. Die Zimmer waren sauber.

This is such a great hotel. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed. They also gave me a present for my birthday which was awesome. They are so kind and the hotel has gym, breakfast service, laundry service and roof top. For sure I recommend it.

Very clean, safe, and good amenities for the price. Bonus that there is a gym, and a reputable grocery store beside the place.

Clean rooms. Just wish we had access to pots and pans without having to ask at the front desk.

Chouette hôtel pour jeunes, trés bien situé et chouette équipe de réception.La salle de sport et le rooftop est vraiment extra!

Insgesamt schönes Hotel. Die Lage ist etwas außerhalb aber es ist direkt eine Metro Station vor der Tür sowie drei Supermärkte. Hatte auch eine Küche aber leider ohne Geschirrtuch oder Töpfe/Pfannen. Im ganzen Zimmer waren Spinnenweben und unter dem Bett war es sehr staubig. Im Bad hat sich auch etwas Schimmel befunden. Die Bettlaken hatten Löcher. Insgesamt aber in Ordnung und und dennoch schön. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Room was good. Location was great. Close to the metro and in a nice neighborhood. Shower floor was dirty, needs to be redone.

Nice hotel for sightseeing trip. Only a few minutes away from metro station. Short distance to city center. Rooms new and modern design. Quite room facing the courtyard including a terrace. One of the cleanest rooms I ever had druring a city trip. Roof top terrace is nice for a sundowner. I yould coose this location once again. Recommendation from my side. Thanks. Christian

Hotel comodo, vicino alla fermata della metro. È comodo anche per la vicinanza alla fermata del bus 100e che porta all'aeroporto. Unico problema piuttosto grave è la pulizia. Praticamente inesistente. Le lenzuola avevano peli e capelli dappertutto. La mattina il rifacimento delle camere consisteva nel ripiegare la coperta. Non ci ritornerei.

Bel posto molto caldo e confortevole abbiamo però ritrovato polvere ricorrente in tutta la struttura ed essendo soggetti allergici tutti noi ospiti avevamo problemi respiratori stando in camera. vista la politica dell'hotel di non pulire le camere regolarmente ma solo ogni 4 giorni la situzione è diventata un pò problematica. Per il resto hotel molto bello e funzionale posizionato praticamente con la metro dietro ti puoi spostare facilmente e velocemente in tutta la città consigliatissimo per costo e confort. rivedrei la politica di pulizia.

L'accueil par le personnel est très chaleureux, ce qui n'est pas souvent le cas en Hongrie. Les espaces communs sont vastes et intéressants. La terrasse sur le toit est un atout incontestable. Toutefois, si la propreté de la chambre en général était au rendez-vous, les matelas et les draps sentaient fortement la cigarette. Ce fut une nuit agitée à cause de cela(allergie). Pour le reste, ce fut une belle expérence.

Basic hotel. Stay if you want to save costs. Rooms filthy linen only changed on third night when requested. Bathroom filthy . Zero amenities no roof top bar no water bottles no tea or coffee making facilities. 45 min walk from anywhere in Budapest

It’s in a good location with easy access to the metro about 3 minutes walk. The room was clean and quite spacious. The only negatives is that the single beds were very small, it was noisy and there were no blackout curtains so had a lot of light through the window. Otherwise it was not too bad for 3 nights.

Het was geen geluiddichte kamer zoals geadverteerd. Mensen kon je over gang horen rennen en praten. Je moest ook bij betalen indien je schone handdoeken wou.

The room was clean, tidy, and had most things required, although as mentioned by others, there was no kettle in the room. The location was easy to find, close the the Metro and there was a Spar & Tesco within a 2min walk. I was on the ground floor and there was a bit of noise until around 11pm as people were coming and going to the study rooms, but no noise from outside. Overall a good stay, breakfast was fine and had everything need, plus there were a couple of good restaurants locally.

We lived this place from the moment we arrived. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. As we arrived early, we thought we'd have to leave or cases, which would not have been a problem, but they found us a room straightaway. We booked the slightly better room with a kitchinette. The room was spotless in terms of cleanliness. Most important to me was the room was one of the best sound proofed i have come across and the bed was extremely comfortable. They're are long black out curtains and ventured blinds and net curtains. Luckily there was air conditioning as temperatures outside approached 30. The room came with a large fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, two sets of plates, cutlery, mugs, glasses, kitchen sink and washing up gear. It doesn't come with a kettle or pots and pans, but understand these are available from reception. My wife easily got a hairdryer from there. There's no tv in the room which for us was not an issue. The bathroom was large with a large shower. Towels were changed daily though from an environmental aspect we hadn't wanted this. The hotel has a lovely roof terrace, a well equipped gym, self use washing machines and some other nice additions. Within a few metres there 3 supermarkets and a corner shop. In a handy location for the airport and city, it is just 2 mins from metro line 3. On our last day we left our luggage in a very secure location. It would definitely be our first choice for another Budapest stay.

No TV in room, other than that, great

Located across the street from the famous Medical University it seems to be mostly used by students and their families. Semmelweis has a lot of foreign students so I guess having a hotel this close makes sense. Probably the best value in south Pest. Be aware however that the rooms DO NOT HAVE A TELEVISION! Which is fine by me since I don't go to Pest to watch TV anyway.

This was an okay stay. Staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. The room was an okay size and the bed was comfy, however, we found it incredibly difficult to sleep as we had booked a double room but were given 2 small single duvet covers and so we couldn't share a cover and our legs kept coming out throughout the night etc. and you only got one tiny pillow each and so I had to go and ask for another. The big fridge was a great addition to the room however it made loads of loud noises in the night which woke us up. Other than this it was okay. Our Safe was tiny and couldn’t fit in a standard IPad which wasn't great and it didn’t work to begin with so we had to call reception for help. Overall it was a budget friendly stay, if they sort those minor issues then it would get a 5* rating from me. It was a 2 minute walk from the underground which was the easiest way of getting around. There were a couple of small shops nearby for essentials too.

Easy check in and out process The bathroom had limited space, shower head can only face one direction so water doesn’t go all over floor. Air conditioning doesn’t work well, takes hours to cool off room and can’t get it below 23c, room was clean as well as common areas.

Really enjoyed my stay at Dean’s and would consider staying again next time. Very easy to reach and find after a late international flight. Friendly staff on the front desk 24/7. Great location for everything and I like to be on the edge of the city centre. Comfortable room and everything I needed. I didn’t go on the roof but wish I had remembered to.

Friendly approachable knowledgeable staff

The staff were wonderful, the studio was clean, and when I asked for a kettle and some pans they were placed in my room while I was out that day so I had them when I returned. I'd be more than happy to stay here again if/when I return to Budapest!

Staff muito simpático, nosso quarto estava pronto 2h antes e nos deixaram entrar. Quarto muito confortável, localização excelente com bons cafés próximos, 2 supermercados e metro!

Regarding this property I have a few things to share. 1) it’s a very convenient place to stay, central and close to the train station. 2) the hotel staff from the day time are extremely friendly, specially Andrea that helped me to navigate around the city and gave me good tips and helped me booking the night boat tour at Danubio. The staff from night shift not friendly at all! 3) Great breakfast PLEASE, pay attention to this: 4) Regarding the cleanliness of my room I have something to share. I found some old panties from a previous guest in my room. The cups in toilet were dirty. 5) The shower we’re not well designed so every time I was taking a shower the whole bathroom was kind of flooding.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable, and the staff very friendly and always willing to help. A great bonus was location, very conveniently located within walking distance from the M3 metro station.

On a pu faire le checkin avant l’heure et la Chambre était propre, mais pas de passage pendant le séjours. Pour changer les serviettes il faut payer des frais supplémentaires. Localisation est bien, proche du métro et des bus de nuit , a deux stations du centre ville Hôtes tres froids, pas très accueillant Petit déjeuner limité

Had a long check in and had to go up and down to reception 3 times before being able to get into my room lol. But the staff were friendly so I can’t complain I’d feel bad! Another thing was the airport transfer is cash only if you book through them so don’t make the same mistake I did, the lady at reception told me to book online and it would be the same price but it wasn’t it cost me €17 more online. Other than that it was clean, worth the money and I could walk to most places I wanted to go! :) would come again

Dejlig centralt hotel tæt på metro station. Personalet er søde og hjælpsomme. Værelser fine i størrelse og lydisoleret så meget stille trods det er et kollegie hotel med mange unge mennesker og vi var der i en weekend. Fantastisk udsigt over byen fra tagterrassen på 10.sal

A nice basic property near to the university. Not much to do in the area but very close to the metro where you are only a few stops to the centre of Budapest. The hotel was a very solid choice as a base to visit to the city.

Vom Hotel sind alle Sehenswürdigkeiten per Metro erreichbar. Metrostation ist 5 Minuten zu Fuß vom Hotel entfernt. Zum Frühstück können wir nuchts sagen, waren anderweitig essen.

Zentrale Lage. Nur 3 Minuten von dee Metro Station entfernt. Ruhig, modern

Die Umgebung vom Hotel ist leider nicht so schön. Man ist aber sehr zentral und erreicht das Zentrum von Budapest sehr gut und schnell. Ganz toll ist, dass direkt angrenzend Lebensmittelgeschäfte und Restaurants sind.

Great place to stay, quiet area with Metro less than 5 mins walk away

The hotel is shared with student accommodation as such the area is lively with students. The room is has the wear and tear you’d expect from that, so don’t expect it to be immaculate. It’s in a location which is easily accessible to a metro station and spar, but not particularly walking distance to downtown if that’s your goal.

Very Modern hotel, had everything we needed. Breakfast continental buffet was delicious. Very convenient location for the metro station and shopping. We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Dean's home.

Chambre 170 au bout du couloir, l'eau n'était pas chaude, nous avons demandé à changer de chambre. Le choix proposé au petit déjeuner est limité, axé plutôt sur du salé

Localização boa e muito perto do metrô. Café da manhã bom, mas um pouco barulhento. Staff agradável.

Breakfast was excellent, staff very friendly. Room comfortable and clean. Some noise at 07:00 from the other guests.

Tolles Preis Leistung Verhältnis. Gutes Frühstück. Top Metro Verbindung und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten um die Ecke.

Es war alles top, bis auf das Frühstück, Kaffee hat mir nicht geschmeckt ind es war zu wenig gesunde Auswahl vorhanden, es ist halt Budapest
