Holiday Inn Express - Milwaukee Downtown by IHG

There is no place to park in front of the hotel to check in, and no indiication of where the parking entrance is located, so it was confusing. We purchased parking with the reservation, but the front desk had not way of knowing this and we almost had to pay cash for parking in addition to paying for it as part of the reservation. Finally, there is no way to get from the ramp to the hotel without having to carry luggge up a short flight of steps and then walk outside to get to the front door.

Room was alright, it was clean enough but not spotless. I paid for parking with my room thru Expedia but they still charged me for the room and parking. Just an inconvenience to call and correct the mistake. Parking structure is not connected to the hotel. You have to walk down and out to enter the hotel.

The ice machines did not work on most floors. Also, the hallways seemed quite warm and humid most of the time. But the hotel was clean and the staff very attentive and friendly. IDE stay again for sure.

Parking in the adjacent lot was costly and there is no direct entrance to the hotel.

Parking was a nightmare and made our stay unfavorable. We went to a concert and returned well after midnight and we got lost trying to park in the surroundingparking garages. We didnt feel safe being lost at night in the city. We understand that parking is separate from the hotel but signage or instructions or anything to help would have been appreciated.

I reserved 2 rooms. The king room was fine (316), the queen room (514) was disappointing. There was a missing light fixture between the beds. The bathroom floor had not been mopped (stands of black hair was all over the floor), the shower curtain was inside out. The shampoo was empty. The breakfast was mediocre. Only 1 elevator was working. The hallway floors (3rd and 5th) needed a good vacuuming. The night manager was wonderful! She was vivacious and fun. I gave a list of problems to the morning manager. Who knows if it will get fixed. We will NOT be staying there again.

Nice clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Can’t speak to breakfast as I missed that. Although I could smell it and I was getting hungry from that alone. Parking is difficult since it’s downtown theirs no real easy lot to park. One parking structure behind the business that you have to walk around the block to. Hotel parking is on third level and there are no elevators so hopefully you don’t mind stairs with your luggage. They do have valet parking which the guys are super friendly and careful with your car. However after tax it’s like $41 per night after tax. I could get my self to pay that. Over all though it’s very convenient if going to summerfest grounds multiple days it even walking distance. I stayed here last year and that’s why I choose to stay here again.

Nice property, easy check in, and great location. Parking is hard to find though. They have valet parking for approx $40/day.

Many good restautant and good place are near from the hotel but only one thing, parking space was a little bit disappointed.

Stayed here for one night while attending a concert at Riverside Theatre. It is about a 10 minute walk. Hotel was OK, could have been cleaner. There was hair all over the bathroom. We parked next-door at the parking garage, it was cheaper than their valet.

The hotel is nice and has the comfortable beds and pillows that you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The houskeeping was horrible. We stayed for a week and our rooms were never vacuumed and very poorly cleaned if they did show up, which wasn't very often. Gargage was in our rooms for 3 days. Their breakfast fell apart as well ont he weekend.

Conveniently located and easy to find. Impeccably clean lobby and common areas. Will book again when need arises.

When we got into our room the bathroom had a dirty wash cloth with makeup all over it. A dirty cup and used water bottle on the counter. There was hair in the sink, on the floor in the bathroom, and on our comforter. I felt like it was very dirty.

The hotel was beautiful until we got to our room. The room was dirty, cigarette burns in the carpet on the floor. Stain on the blanket, pillowcase and chase chair in the room. The bathroom shower had hair in it and the floor was filthy.

My room was surprisingly large, very clean, and exceptionally comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious, new, and had a beautiful glass door shower stall. Plus, every person I ran into at the front desk (and the breakfast attendant!) was super friendly.

The cleaning staff were sub par. We stayed at the Hotel for a week. The rooms were never vacuumed or cleaned. Garbage was left in our rooms for days.

Our TV didn’t work so they did take off $100 without even looking so they probably knew it didn’t work! Also was charged initially 3 times until the charges came off my card.

Shower did not drain while u was on the tub.

Everyone was friendly and the hotel was new. Clean and convenient to the downtown area. The only negative was the 6am trash pickup every day. They don’t have control of that.

liked that my room had fridge, microwave and coffee maker. came for a race (triathlon) at discovery world, and this hotel was the perfect place to stay.

This hotel was walking distance to downtown and the park where I was participating in a triathlon. The hotel was clean however I dont think our room was cleaned while we were there. We asked for fresh towels each day. The only real problem was the guests above us were very noisy, like they were dropping things all night. Walls were pretty thin. Breakfast was pretty good. We would come back.

The woman at the front desk was excellent. She was very efficient, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Wish every check-in went that flawless.

We did not get to stay here for our visit. We were called by Holiday Inn Express on the road to the hotel. They had over booked and we were moved to the TRU Hotel right next door. The Tru was very good at check in and had us ready to get to our room. We had a good stay there.

I booked this hotel a month before arriving. I get here and there is a couple in front of me trying to check in who also reserved a room about a month ago. The front desk person told them that they were full and couldnt take them. They explained to her that they reserved a room and paid for it already and that they received a confirmation from the hotel the day before. The desk lady just kept saying they had no rooms and the couple left. So I get up to the desk and have the exact same conversation. They were booked and she told me I would just need to walk to another hotel. I said that I would not be doing that and that I expect to have the room I reserved. Miraculously, she checked and there was magically a room available after some back and forth between the two of us. Why she didn’t tell me that to begin with is beyond me. Additionally, don’t accept reservations, send out confirmations, and then tell your arriving guests they don’t have a room when they arrive. On top of that, two separate guests came up saying the keys they received didn’t work with one person making a comment about how they hotel had given away their room. This whole thing was a total poop show and I am shocked by the rudeness to this hotels guests.

Well when we got there the front desk was empty. We waited about 10-15 min to check in.

Two night reservation was made late in the day. Unfortunately the room availability that was listed on Expedia did not match what was actually available at the Holiday Inn Exoress. Staff person was very apologetic but as a result my wife and I had to stay in separate rooms the first night - and we had to re-check into our rooms on day two. Room was nice on day two but I was shocked that I was not offered any discount for the inconvenience we experienced on the first day.

The host working the desk was rude and seemed inconvienenced by having to check us in.

short distance to public transportation on Wisconsin. This one costs a small amount. I didn't ride it, but it was there if I wanted to take it. Also Free The Hop service (light rail that travels around downtown Milwaukee.) The Hop runs from the Intermodal (Amtrak) NB past Milwaukee Public Market get off on Wisconsin and walk one short block east to Jefferson. Go south on Jefferson about a short block and a half to Holiday Inn Express Downtown Milwaukee. I took TaxiMKE to the Airport for $35. Just call to arrange a pick up. Overall experience, Great.

Great location and easy walk to the Third Ward.

We had such a good time! The walk to the Public Market and Third Ward was easy and we found most anything we wanted there! The staff was great. Rebecca and Deidre(?) of the daytime front desk were awesome helpiing us to decide the excursions of the day.

Stayed here while visiting for Summerfest. Only 3 blocks from Summerfest grounds,so close and convenient. Highly recommend.

Overall, we had a very positive experience. The property was within a walkable distance to the Public Market. I felt that the Hotel was a good value. However, be aware that there is a $50 fee that is charged by the hotel, upon arrival. We were lucky and found free on street parking in front of the hotel. Hotel is in a safe area that is walkable. If we return to this area, we will definitely return to this property.

NICE CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, AND GREAT BREAKFAST!

Stayed two nights, housekeeping never came after the first night. The second morning, we went to get breakfast but it was closed (supposedly open until 10am, we got there several minutes before 10 and it was already closed up). The property is nice, rooms are nice, people are friendly. Bottom line: you get what you pay for.

The location is very convenient and the rooms are updated. The breakfast was inconsistent and unfortunate.

Everything was great. Only 4 stars as breakfast was so timed out of items ( coffee, pancakes ) and it took awhile to get resolved. But the cookies in the afternoon were amazing! Hotel is clean and quiet. Great location

Very friendly staff, comfortable bed and pillows. Hotel is in very good condition. Probably the best hotel breakfast buffet coffee I’ve had. Definitely the worst orange juice I’ve had anywhere, basically water with an orange hue.

The valet parking (and the valet himself) was awesome and breakfast was excellent. We will definitely stay here again when in Milwaukee.
