Hotel was under renovation. The room wasn’t bad. The AC in the room was leaking condensation. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant/bar was ok. Some equipment wasn’t working and some supplies hadn’t been delivered.

We were worried for a minute as the exterior is under renovation with boom lifts and fences. However, the inside is fine and all amenities available. Has a nice little bar of you need a nightcap. Plenty of parking, and good location close to the interstate. Price was on the high side of what I would expect, but for some reason all the hotels here were.. even the super budget brands were pushing $200 or more. While expensive, comparatively it was a decent value.

I was not made aware that there was both construction on the outside of the building as well as directly outside of my hotel room door. There were workers and cords lying around the entirety of the hallway and they were drilling and making noise when I checked in. Had I known the hotel was undergoing construction, I would have chosen a different hotel to stay.

The inside of the hotel was very nice, the rooms were great but they didn’t tell us that they were under construction (facelift) of the outside so it was a little confusing but the stay was great.

We stayed only one night. We were checking out the New River Gorge. Clean room, clean beds, kids loved the pool. Walked over to Outback for dinner was super convenient. Would go back again.

Was not aware of the building being renovated. Also this location advertised Starbucks located in the hotel and we were told we only had a list of about 6 items to eat and no Starbucks products were available. In addition no breakfast until 7pm. Very disappointing. Had I know I would have booked elsewhere for cheaper

When we arrived, after a long drive, it was raining and the front entrance was fenced off, with no indication the hotel was actually open. We made our way in a side entrance, despite signage saying it was locked and finally found someone to check us in. Despite their web site advertising "Free Breakfast" and "Free WiFi," neither was available. The door to our room was sticky. Caveat emptor!

The bathroom in our room was not clean. The toilet was dirty and the shower leaked all over the floor. The bath soap, shampoo and conditioner holder was broken and not repaired. The refrigerator in the room did not work. We had arrived after a full day of travel in the car. Although the front desk personnel offered a new room we were too exhausted at that point to move. The refrigerator was one thing, but the bathroom was a disgrace.

The bathroom especially was dated and the shower had dirt and yuck in the door crevices. The towel rod actually fell off the wall when my husband pulled his towel off. The front desk was, however, quick to call maintenance to repair it. We stayed two nights, and were disappointed when we got back to the room because we’d had no maid service. Dirty towels and overflowing trash greeted us.

The first room we received had peeling paint above the bed that appeared to be from water damage. We were able to switch rooms. The second room was better but the toilet was dirty. It had clearly not been cleaned and was soiled. The area around the shower showed it's age with rust, soap scum, and peeling paint. The beds were clean and comfortable.

There was construction on the outside of the property. Water was dripping on everyone on one of the side doors from the roof. The staff did not notify us that we could only get our room cleaned every other day. We had to ask for fresh towels & for our trash to get taken out. It was not that bad but definitely not worth the price we paid.

Poor value for money; much too expensive for this low quality of a hotel. In addition, the air conditioner in our room did not work for half of the night and it was quite unbearable. The breakfast wasn’t even complimentary. The pillow on the bed had the shape of a head indent in it as if someone had laid on it after making the bed. Overall, it’s a budget hotel experience for way too high of a price. If it was priced more appropriately then it would have been a better rating. We weren’t looking for a luxury experience, it is obviously just a stopover night hotel, but given the high price we thought we could expect more. Or at least a cleaner room with working air conditioner.

Switched to this Marriot midway through our stay at another nearby hotel that was pretty grody. Everything was great, only problem is that the doors shut very loud, so every night you could hear what sounded like a Minecraft village out in the hall (Constant opening and closing of doors)

Overall our stay was lovely. We stayed here as a break from driving on our way to another destination. There were definitely some updates needed in the bathroom, cracked tiles, some rust and scale buildup in the shower, and an old patio door that certainly needs an update for security purposes. My only complaint would the be the bed, though my husband really enjoyed such a firm mattress, I needed up sleeping on the pull out sofa. The bed was so firm, it was like sleeping on a piece of plywood.

Appreciate the resltaurant downstairs. Food was ordered from our room and the front desk lady even brought it up for us. Didn’t cost anymore than picking up take out from a sit down chain. Great stay.

The only reason i gave 4 stars is because of the staff. One of the best and friendliest staff I’ve ever seen. I might come back another time just because of them. Cleanliness is a different story and it’s not even staff’s fault because it looks like a lot of carpet needs to be replaced- in the elevators and the room.

The hotel was under renovations, vagrants everywhere with no lights on the property. We never checked in. We stay at a hotel in the same shopping center that was fine. I want to be refunded by Hotels.com or Courtyard Marriot and all i am getting is nothing from either one of you. I book through hotels.com for protection and now I have none as you are not refunding my money. Marriot says it up to Hotels.com to refund us. Hotels.com said to go to Marriot. IF this is not resolved I will not use either service or hotels. Note. I have used Marriots for over 40 years and never had such an issue as usually choose them across the country. It is also the first time Hotels.com has refused to help me in this situation. I am really sad by this fact.

There is construction going on at this time - I did not see that mentioned anywhere when I booked. Side door has a leaky A/C unit as you come in and out. Ant problem in 2 of our 3 rooms One of our rooms was only for one night - so we moved everyone over to the other room for a few hours before we headed off to a wedding. (only part of our group was staying two nights) While getting ready for the wedding, we were notified by the front desk that it was our other room that was for two nights (exact same room, right across the hall) and they made us move all of our stuff to the other room. House keeping had just cleaned this room and was getting it ready for new guest. It made absolutely no sense and the front desk staff insisted she could do nothing to change this "because we booked with a third party." Which she mentioned several times.I travel frequently, got a much better rate on hotels.com, and this is the first poor review I am leaving. Our front desk staff on check in was great on Saturday. And the housekeeping was great in the midst of the switch up. I hope to follow up with this hotel management and share specific concerns.

Room smelled bad, visible water damage and funk from old carpet. The staff were friendly and said renovations are coming, but room was not inexpensive. Front desk worker was difficult to find when trying to check in. She seemed put out when I asked for extra pillows. The hallway smelled like pot. The bartender/cook was very accommodating and cooked pretty good food and made good drinks which was awesome after a long day traveling.

It was really relaxing. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. It did seem a bit pricey for what it was but it’s kinda of your only option for a decent overnight traveling this route. Outback next door is good but there’s a really nice local steak place up the road a piece if you want an impressive meal.

This hotel is wildly overpriced for what it is. The room was fine, it’s dated and needs a refresh, especially the bathroom. It was fairly clean but it’s hard to tell when things are dated. The shower had mold in the grout. There is no free breakfast. They did have free popcorn which I thought was a cool idea. The room was quiet and conveniently located. It is walkable to a few restaurants.

We were worried for a minute as the exterior is under renovation with boom lifts and fences. However, the inside is fine and all amenities available. Has a nice little bar of you need a nightcap. Plenty of parking, and good location close to the interstate. Price was on the high side of what I would expect, but for some reason all the hotels here were.. even the super budget brands were pushing $200 or more. While expensive, comparatively it was a decent value.

Staff kept the interior clean and orderly considering the exterior of the building being under renovation. Road to facility was awful to traverse. The night time manager was courteous, helpful, and pleasant to converse with. There were issues with television service, continuously showing error message while watching. No microwave in the rooms.

Appreciate the resltaurant downstairs. Food was ordered from our room and the front desk lady even brought it up for us. Didn’t cost anymore than picking up take out from a sit down chain. Great stay.

The property was excellent in most areas. However, very disappointing that not even a continental breakfast was available. Only option is to purchase separately. I have never stayed in a hotel that didn’t at least offer a yogurt! Especially with the price.

Hotel was under renovation. The room wasn’t bad. The AC in the room was leaking condensation. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant/bar was ok. Some equipment wasn’t working and some supplies hadn’t been delivered.

This is my go-to hotel when I’m in town, but I was less than pleased with the accommodations. There were renovations happening which was not posted on the website. My shower look like it had not been cleaned. I was given the wrong room and had to go back to the front desk to be assigned to the right room. The couch and foot stole were stained and dirty. The Starbucks machine was broken. I can say the waitress at the bistro was phenomenal! I was extremely disappointed with Marriott because it’s always too-notch, but not so much this time, especially for the price I paid.

Was not aware of the building being renovated. Also this location advertised Starbucks located in the hotel and we were told we only had a list of about 6 items to eat and no Starbucks products were available. In addition no breakfast until 7pm. Very disappointing. Had I know I would have booked elsewhere for cheaper

When we arrived, after a long drive, it was raining and the front entrance was fenced off, with no indication the hotel was actually open. We made our way in a side entrance, despite signage saying it was locked and finally found someone to check us in. Despite their web site advertising "Free Breakfast" and "Free WiFi," neither was available. The door to our room was sticky. Caveat emptor!
