Tru by Hilton Mobile

Positives: exceptional staff (kind, considerate, and helpful), wonderful lobby…neat, clean, variety of snacks and food items to purchase, creative, free coffee all day, and welcoming, comfortable bed, great shower, clean room with several shelves for belongings (loved!), easy to get to elevator and room, the complimentary breakfast was one of the best…variety of items and so yummy! Negatives: There was only a shower, no bathtub in my room which didn’t bother me at all but might be important to others. There were really no negatives for me! I loved this hotel!!

This hotel was very, very clean and had good parking too. The employees were very nice and helpful. I highly recommend the Tru hotels.

Easy parking and clean inside

Overnight trip. Very pet friendly and there is a field right next to hotel where u can walk the dogs. Room smelled new and clean. A little mold on the shower door and hand soap bottle was not refilled. Great to have good coffee and tea available at lobby 24/7 Not many restaurants nearby, just a few fast food style delis. Overall, great place to stay for a quick shower and good nights sleep.

Location was safe, quiet, convenient to shopping areas and easy parking. Staff was very helpful and polite. A hot Breakfast was included and as promised.

The Tru hotel is ultra modern, but lacked a swimming pool, a room safe, and a bar/restaurant. They did have games, including a pool table in the lobby. They did have items you could purchase around the desk, but they were very expensive. A 20 ounce bottle of Coke was four dollars. We ended up driving to Walmart to get our stuff. Not much around the area, other than a ballpark, which is out of season right now. There is a Costco down the road and some other shopping. Our sink didn’t drain very well at all, we reported that as we left. The room was clean in the shower worked fine. Breakfast is very basic scrambled eggs, English sausage, I believe it’s called which is like kielbasa, toast, hard boiled eggs, and your juices and coffee. they had cereal-about five kinds I believe, and milk. No bacon, no regular sausage patties, no breakfast potatoes/hashbrowns. It was free, and it was OK, but I really have had much better. I really wanted to go into town to a restaurant, but we were short on time. I would consider staying here again, but I didn’t like having to set up a new Hilton account to get Wi-Fi. I already have a Hilton account and I couldn’t make that one work.

Interesting that they have a pool table -- in place of an actual pool. If I had had the time I would have played a game or two. Maybe next time. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. All the stars for the staff. Hotel is basic but clean and met our needs

Room neglected and dirty. Human hair was found on the sheets. The hotel technician came and gave us sheets to change ourselves. To our surprise there was a big brown stain on the mattress with little speckies. Was told could not get refund. Room was changed.

The food was GREAT! The hotel was clean, except under the mattress when sheets was changed was a dead roach. But they kept the hotel clean. Staff was wonder!

I recently stayed at this hotel for the weekend and had a mixed experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. The breakfast provided was decent with no complaints. However, I was disappointed to find that my room was not cleaned properly. There were dried food stains on the lampshade, hair in the tub, and on the sink area. This aspect of cleanliness definitely needs improvement for a more satisfying guest experience.

Always consistent and clean hotel.

This was not a great experience. The hotel was very modern and minimal ( which was ok, Judy not what we expected. The room was clean , as was the bathroom and the bed was comfortable. The problem we experienced was that someone in an adjacent room had a LOUD TV playing all night long When we got up at 9:00 it was still blaring loudly. This happened even though there were notices posted in several places about no loud noises after 10:00 pm. We got very little sleep.

Nice clean room. Quite basic but new furnishings. Could do with better soundproofing though as could hear people and tv in room nearby.

The tiles that line the bathroom shower were falling off the wall. The walls were very thin so even with low volume TV we could hear everything on our neighbors TV throughout the night. We were not told we would have adjoining rooms with someone so it was a bit of a shock but it didn’t present an issue. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and the room was huge. We had a pleasant stay otherwise.

Rooms & baths are too small to make a comfortable stay.

Staff was professional. Room was clean. The room was small and there was no microwave. Like most hotels, the mattress was very soft. Price was good for a newer hotel..

Everything was great except the pillows. We are not a fan of the loose limp pillows. They offer no support.

Nice, newish hotel with great rooms. The walk-in shower with body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers was great. Very comfy beds and pillows. Roll-down room darkening shade was very effective. Overall, a great stay

The Tru has become one of our favorite hotels when we are taking short 1 or 2 night trips because of the comfortable beds. We were sadly disappointed in the Mobile Tru as the beds very overly firm and did not have the usually Hilton down topping. Also the pillows were extremely flat. It made for a sleepless night for me.

Front desk staff is always amazing! Love coming here!

Clean room, good breakfast, friendly staff

Room was clean and comfortable. Two hours after departing, I received a phone call from the front desk stating I left my car keys(I had two sets) in the room. The attendant said she would take my keys to the UPS store after she got off work. To be honest I wasn’t 100% sure I’d see them again, but four days later they arrived at my house. I’m so grateful for the staff who went above and beyond at this location!

I just wanted to shout out Trina the housekeeping manager she was fabulous I kept having an issue with them sending housekeeping to my room after me asking for 2 days and she took on the responsibility of herself and it was immaculate I appreciate her role in leadership and how she stepped in when it was not getting done correctly She was the best part of my trip. Everyone else would say they would do something and would not do it We asked for towels they forget we asked to get light bulbs in the fixtures that didn't work when we got to the room they forgot They would say that somebody was coming and he was off everything outside of Trina was a disappointment.

We have stayed here previously and again we are impressed with TRU. Extremely clean, comfortable and inviting are the best words to describe our stay. We appreciated the helpfulness of our hotel employee “DJ” who made us feel welcome.

Check in was strange. I was on a motorcycle and I parked my bike past the entrance near a window to the lobby, When I walked in the front desk instead of greeting me said "Woa, I thought you were going to crash that bike through the window!" I was caught off guard by the initial comment, as I just parked the bike there. That set the tone for the check in. I think he was trying to be flirty, with me, even though I am male. It was awkward. I asked if we could leave the bike there and he was adamant about not, insisting we park in a regular spot. I was fine with that, but he pushed back stating he never was asked that before. I said okay, but then he pushed more. So I engaged and explained we travel by bike and this was the first hotel that has refused that. We have spent many nights in hotels where we were allowed to leave our bikes near the lobby entrance out of the way. We have expensive gear on the bikes that is cumbersome to remove and carry to the rooms, but can be removed. He refused again, then again said this was the first he heard of this. I said well, this is the first time I have been refused. He insisted we park in the lot because there were a lot of unused spaces. And then blamed his manager, stating he would allow it but then his manager would be angry at him. I did what I could to move on. We moved our bikes and used a cart for all of the stuff we had to take off of the bike. The room was average, bed comfortable, but the floor was sticky.

Rondia at the front desk was super kind and courteous, and she professionally kept my personal and room number details quiet as there was someone else nearby. That should happen all the time, but it doesn’t. Hotel was nice and clean. Lobby is fun.

Hilton’s internet system was down when we arrived, so we couldn’t check in officially. The clerk took us upstairs to our room to let us in manually, but a staff person was in the room working on something or cleaning pee or something. So back downstairs we went. We were taken to a room on first floor where we were surrounded by barking dogs (won’t stay at a pet-friendly hotel again). When we asked the clerk questions during our stay, it was met with “I really don’t know.” Not professional service from front desk at all. Usually found them sitting in the back of the room instead of at desk. There was a door slamming sound and loud boom very often all night and lots of noise early in the morning. Not sure if it was breakfast staff, cleaning staff or other people staying there.

Second time staying here, did not disappoint. Excellent staff service, clean, easy to check-in/check-out, great breakfast, and near everything you need.

Worst stay I’ve had in 20 years! I called front deck at 11 pm and at midnight on the party being held in room next to our. They were banging on wall so hard my bed was shaking . Staff did nothing. It didn’t stop until after 3 am. We got no rest after our travel day. Staff told me when I called second time they would ask guest room to tone it down but did nothing .

We have stayed at the Tru a few times and have always had a solid experience. Really good location and staff and definitely recommend.

This was our 2nd time staying at this particular location. We stayed there last year & were really pleased with everything & it didn't disappoint us this time either. This hotel is our go-to place to stay if we overnight in Mobile. There's a decent selection of stores & food near by & even a Costco right next door.

I stay here weekly. Breakfast is lacking...location is great for where I'm heading.

We had to leave the prior hotel we were at abruptly due to mold so this was one of the best reviewed places and now I see why. No complaints the entire stay! Only 1 minor hiccup was the pancake machine went out but shortly after the staff brought premade pancakes and saved the day.

Our stay had an easy check-in, the entire place, including our room, breakfast area and even the elevators were very clean and organized. Great selection for breakfast, staff friendly and making sure to keep things fresh. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel, would definitely recommend.

My husband and I really enjoyed the breakfast and the game area was wonderful it was great for family fun !
