La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Holbrook Petrified Forest

We had an amazing stay at this hotel while visiting Petrified Forest National Park. The free breakfast was fantastic, especially for the kids. The outdoor pool was great, and the service was top-notch. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Highly recommended! Paul

I selected this property based on gym, gym was not available.. disappointed

Hotel was nice, but the main reason we picked this hotel was the indoor pool, but it was freezing!! We couldn’t even swim it was so cold!

The hotel is brand new, well designed and convenient to the national park. They even have EV chargers - unfortunately they've contracted with Blink Charging - we could only get the charger to work on one of three tries, despite over an hour on the phone with their help desk. I hope that La Quinta could cancel the contract and find a more reliable EV partner, like ChargePoint.

New or recently renovated hotel. The heated pool needed to be a few degrees warmer to be comfortable.

We stayed at La Quinta for one night to visit the petrified forest. The property seems new or newly renovated with clean and modern facilities, a clean and nice pool and a good breakfast buffet.

Hotel was nice for the area. There was a strange whooshing sound that happened all the time (was not the wind). The breakfast was okay. The pool was a bit cold but the weather wasn’t very hot either. Check in and out was easy and quick.

Property was decent but no amenities. Advertised an indoor pool but it was in need of repair - it should not be advertised if not working or at least a discount should have been offered

I was told by the front desk that this property is 5 years old, but it felt brand new. It had a "big hotel" feel thanks to the lobby, which is airy and welcoming. It's the first place you encounter off the highway, and it looks out on a vast expanse of nothingness (ok, desert vista), which is lovely. Very reasonable dog policy and there's a nice place to walk dogs on Navajo Blvd. Room was spotless and comfortable, nice big counter space in bathroom, good quality pillows (not wimpy) and linens, great shower. Practically across the street is the Bienvenidos restaurant, which is absolutely adorable inside and had the nicest waitresses and a very big menu. I've done five cross-country road trips in the last 3 years and this was my favorite stop by far.

Didn’t have an alarm clock for the room and couldn’t find one for us but that I could live with but the two cockroaches in the room we couldn’t live with which is part of the reason we won’t be back

The power went out and we had limited water that was brown for 2 days. Hair found in the shower

The property is beautiful, and clean. The breakfast was your usual Continental breakfast nothing special. Very nice experience.

Nice rooms but trash and dog poop outdoors in vicinity not picked up. Also too many weeds with stickers on edges of property.

Very comfortable bed and sheets. Room was spacious and clean. Front desk staff were super friendly. Location was great. Breakfast was good. The hotel looked brand new but front desk said it’s about 4 years old! They’re doing a great job keeping it maintained.

The cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in!

Bathroom was dirty. Urine stains on toilet and floor. There was a bandaid stuck on ‘clean’ hand towel. Because it was evening, no housekeeping staff available, I requested plastic gloves and cleaning spray and cleaned the bathroom myself. (Front desk agent kindly offered to clean the bathroom, but she was already very busy with other guests checking in, and I wanted to clean it as soon as possible.)

The room was noisy. Some traffic noise, but the main problem was hearing every door open and close, and the ringing of the elevator. It was not a restful night.

Very nice hotel super clean the only thing that stopped me from giving five stars is the lighting in the room was terrible fluorescent and too dim.

I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the facilities. They had everything needed, including plenty of device charging options, including cordless, a decent sized fridge (larger than mini), 2 tvs and quality air conditioning. Everything was in great condition, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom and showers were clean. My one significant complaint is that the doors all loudly slam shut, disturbing all guests in the area. They need to upgrade their hinges to fix this. A minor complaint is that we showed up early and even though the room was ready and unoccupied they wanted a $30 early check in fee to access the room. I could see if there would be effort involved to let us check in but there wasn’t. To me, that’s just a hospitality miss, all for the chance at a few extra bucks they didn’t get since I wouldn’t pay it. Lastly, we were on the 3rd floor and I would swear the people on the 4th were stomping (though they probably weren’t). The free breakfast was simply acceptable free food. It provided nourishment but no real flavor. My girlfriend ate a couple apples both days and half of them were over-ripe or rotten on the inside. But hey, it’s free and she found other ones. Regardless of the couple negatives, it was a very pleasant stay and I’d stay here again…. On the 4th floor.

It was an ok stay. Rooms are kinda small and nothing fancy. Could hear through the walls and doors slamming down the hall. Lobby was clean and plenty of parking. Breakfast was good.

Waffles are always a good start for us. The coffee was good too. Our only thought was the pillows are small. We needed more. But it was late and we were too tired. We appreciate that they didn't charge as much as other hotels for pet fees.

Good location near the highway. Food options nearby but not walkable. Free breakfast is so-so. Our room had a noisy refrigerator that affected our sleep. Nice facilities and very good room. Best place in town.

I paid Expedia for a night here. The hotel billed me again for the same night. If that is the case, what is my incentive for paying with Expedia in the first place. This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable.

The check in clerk,(Levi) was very rude and was not willing to help us store our bags because of our early arrival. Circumstances made us arrive for check-in which we realized but Levi was rude and was very not willing to store pur #3 small (motorcycle ) bags while we went downtown till our room was ready. When we came back for room he proceeded to lecture my wife where we couldn't park our motorcycle while I was outside . We never at any time asked for special parking. Then when we checked out next morning he had us registered as "no shows?!). Talking to other people he was rude and condescending to them as well

Extremely clean and new property with very convenient access to I-40. Staff on-site was extremely friendly. The only thing they need to improve upon is responsiveness. They did not answer their phone when I tried to reach them on multiple occasions. They also did not respond to texts on the number they sent to me at check in.

The check-in experience was a bit troublesome. I arrived late at night, the front desk assigned me the wrong room, which required me to go back and forth to update my key card. After I was unable to open the door again, a staff member accompanied me upstairs and opened the room and then we found this one was already occupied. I hope this didn’t alarm the guest inside. The room I was finally assigned had stained sheet. Other than these issues, everything else was fine. I hope the hotel can improve its attention to detail.

Eryn at the front desk was outstanding! There was a very long line and the phone ringing off the hook. Eryn handled it all with great composure and customer service.

Hotel seemed newer than its five year age. Everything clean and in order. Convenient to I-40; town of Holbrook nothing to see, but the hotel is a nice oasis.

Easy on /off interstate. Close to Petrified Forest. Clean rooms/facility and friendly staff. Quick stop en route to Phoenix area.

Great location if you need a place to stay after visiting Petrified Forest National Park! Clean, modern, breakfast included, friendly front desk staff. We ate at La Mesa just down the street, at the front desk’s recommendation, and it was excellent!

New hotel with lots of nice amenities. Beautiful desert views from room and pool. Pool was perfect size and warmed from the sun, Breakfast had a little of everything: waffles, muffins and pastries, fruit, cereal, eggs, potatoes, yogurt, bacon, etc. Very friendly staff. Quiet location.

This is a very new and clean hotel. It's located in a quiet part of town, and we felt very safe. Parking was plentiful, and access in and out was easy. The room was excellent, and the bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the breakfast. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The location and physical property was excellent as expected. The rooms have good size refrigerator and microwave. Our biggest problem was with the breakfast. There was no cereal, no milk and not even any plain hot water to make the oatmeal packets! Also there was no orange juice or other b breakfast beverage except apple juice and coffee. These are items that are present at all similar hotel breakfasts!!

Great hotel, comfortable new and clean, friendly staff but an eco disaster at breakfast. Styrofoam plates, plastic knives and spoons, styrofoam cups, single serve creamers. We shared a plate and cup at breakfast and felt bad when we put the styrofoam in an already overflowing garbage bag. Bring in biodegradable plates and cups please.

Awesome hotel! Incredibly clean and very new, large rooms, love that there was a fan in the bathroom—which was also large, well-lit, and clean. Amazing breakfast. I loved the waffle station, eggs, and sausage. I’d stay again in a heartbeat!
