The pictures are misleading; it was really weird. Smelled strange, rooms are stuffy, there were dirty dishes in the kitchen, the owners seemed to live there in an awkwardly partitioned room… I would never recommend this to someone.

The host was friendly, but the pictures are misleading. The bathroom attached to our room was quite dingy compared to what is pictured, and the kitchen and dining room areas were dirty. There were fruit flies, dog food on the counter, and the owner's partially-eaten food, as well as random clutter on all surfaces so we couldn't sit down to eat. The owner warned us we should wear shoes as the floor wasn't clean and we had to eat standing up in the kitchen amidst all the garbage. There was also a divider section that showed a glimpse into a messy living area, but it wasn't obvious from the listing that this is also their home and that it would feel like you were in their personal living space. It was an odd experience, and does not justify the price we paid. I've been in hostels that are better maintained than this, and definitely wouldn't recommend it if you want a comfortable experience.

Kind host, but not the right fit for me I stayed here during peak season and appreciated the affordable rate, but in hindsight, I wouldn't choose to save money this way again. The host was lovely—very kind and even gave me a ride when I needed help, which I was genuinely grateful for. However, the environment just didn’t feel comfortable or secure for me. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke that hit the moment we walked through the front door. We’d hold our breath to grab our keys and quickly get to our room. Even with the window open, the smoke drifted in from the outdoor bistro table directly outside our room where others were frequently smoking—so there was really no escape from it. The house is divided into several guest rooms, some of which connect through shared bathrooms. At one point, someone unlocked the adjoining bathroom door and accidentally entered our space while I was getting ready, even though I had followed the instructions to lock their side. That, along with the sound of doors opening and closing throughout the night, left me feeling quite on edge. Each room has a chain lock, which was reassuring, but it didn’t completely put me at ease. There’s a fast turnover of guests, and while that’s expected at a lower price point, the overall vibe just felt a bit unsettling—somewhere between makeshift hostel and low-budget boarding house. The kindness of the host was the highlight, but unfortunately, the stay didn’t feel restful or safe for me personally.
