Great location and very close to the beach everything is very private and just what we wanted. If you don’t have your own transportation be advised that taxis are outrageously expensive they charge you $30 to take you 5 min down the road and then charge you an additional $10 since it’s a private residential entrance and they have to check in twice just to get to your unit. One of the taxi guys said they have to provide their ID and then get their ID back once they exit and many don’t want to go through the hassle. The pool is about 2.5 feet so there is really no point in getting the condo unit with a pool because it’s like a kitty pool. The only reason I can’t give this place a 5 stars is because on Saturday and even Friday bright and early all through the day there was so much noise from the upstairs unit. I went outside to see what the noise was and they were remodeling the unit above and it was just hammering and drilling noise all day. Other than that the stay was good. I would return to the area.

Property is pretty big, specially the pool area. Private beach was great, not as crowded, chairs were provided. Unit was well equipped, nice furniture, smart TVs, air conditioning, perfect for the family. The only negative I'd say is the washer/dryer were not great, and the buildings and common areas looked a bit damaged-not well maintained. Paint was peeling off in several exterior walls. Overall a good experience.

Me and my family enjoyed our stay. The restaurants open at 9am and we are early risers so that was our only compliment. Gym is nice! Pool is nice and spacious. Everyone was nice and helpful Will be back!

We stayed in one of the penthouses at this property and it was 5 star all the way. Beautiful on the inside and all new furnishings and appliances. They are not all like this fo make sure you know what you are getting because the north side buildings all seem newer and more updated. It was bad weather while we were on vacation so we were so grateful to have a beautiful place with an outstanding kitchen to spend our time. The outside amenities could use a little updating and maintenance. I wound rate this part as more of a 3-4 star. The water fountains were not on, lots of paint chips on the walls and not a lot of pool chairs or loungers out for guests. It’s beautiful at night when you don’t see this but in te day light, you notice it’s a little run down. Nothing terrible, but it could look so much better with new paint and some maintenance. Now to the spa. We booked 3 massages and o e facial all at 4:00 so we could all go at the same time and finish together. The gals who booked us said we could go an hour early to use the amenities so we did just that. Well, it turned out we were not booked together and we had to wait for people before us to leave before we could go in. 5 more minutes, 5 more minutes, just a couple more minutes….finally after waiting outside and 15 mosquito bites later, we were able to go in but there was only one locker room got both men and women and our appts were not together. Two of us had to wait an hour.

An unforgettable stay at Mareazul My stay at Mareazul was absolutely amazing. The condo was beautiful, very clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed to relax and enjoy our vacation. The ocean view was stunning, and the common areas—like the pool, gardens, and private beach—were all impeccably maintained. The location is perfect: peaceful, safe, and just minutes away from everything Playa del Carmen has to offer. The staff was kind and helpful, which made the experience even better. I loved our stay at Mareazul Beach Resort. Wish i was still there. The apartment was extremely clean and pretty. The property was also super clean and gorgeous. A beautiful pool that slans lenth of property and ending with a private beach entrance. Property had a little store and 2 restaurants with delicious food. Hope to return!

Property was great! The large central pool was very clean and fun to play in. 2 restaurants located on site. Easy access to the beach. Beach was very clean when we got there and then became full of seaweed the last couple days we were there. It really all depends on weather and currents as to how bad the beaches will be. Property manager was easy to work with. We had an issue with the AC and they fixed it quickly. We had a great stay. Just a couple heads up items: Kitchen had plenty of cookware for our party of 6 but didn’t have any spices. We like to cook and this changed our plans a bit. Also limited amounts of common items like, toilet paper, dishwasher soap, hand soaps, hand towels, etc. None of this was an issue for us but it’s helpful to know so you can plan for it. We stay in a lot of VRBO’s in the states and are more used to these common items being readily available. All in all we highly recommend this facility. One thing we were very appreciative of was the level of security. 2 gates to pass through plus security staff roaming the premises 24hrs keeping an eye on things.

The property was really nice, but the apartment had a terrible smell of humidity and it was overwhelming in the master bedroom. We did communicate this problem and they brought us a dehumidifier. The wall above the bed has mold or mildew and the toilet in the master bedroom kept running. The private pool is advertised as a pool but in reality is more like a water fountain that is only about a foot deep. The first pool by the the restaurant has become a birdbath and it is full of feathers and bird droppings. The staff walks by it and does nothing about it. The staff were very courteous and attentive.

The property itself is gorgeous and the beach is probably the best along that stretch. Limited seaweed and no rocks along the shore. It was never too crowded and staff lay out chairs and umbrellas everyday. Mareazul is a massive complex and is really beautiful overall. Our room was the ocean front penthouse and the view was spectacular! A car is likely needed to get around unless you are willing to spend $$$ on taxis into town. Disappointments: our room had an adjoining door/wall to the neighbouring apartment through which we could hear everything. We had no idea the room was set up this way and feel this was false advertising through omission of details. Mareazul does not offer round the clock on site support; the front desk staff leave at 2130h. We could not get into our room due to an issue with the door code and it took us over 1.5 hours to track down help. The number on the reservation was not in service. The emergency number provided at the front desk led us to someone who could not offer any solutions. We had to beg the reluctant security to try to help us and eventually we were connected to Yasmin who was very helpful and did respond to many other issues. There were bed sheets with stains on them and the dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen one night (pipes flimsy and held together with duct tape). We were never offered formal compensation for the inconveniences. While the property is gorgeous, we paid more than we think our experience was worth.

My family of four stayed for seven days, six nights and very much enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean, well-maintained, and quiet. We loved the private pool and the kitchen appliances that enabled us to prepare our own meals.
My family of four stayed for seven days, six nights and very much enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean, well-maintained, and quiet. We loved the private pool and the kitchen appliances that enabled us to prepare our own meals.

Property was great! The large central pool was very clean and fun to play in. 2 restaurants located on site. Easy access to the beach. Beach was very clean when we got there and then became full of seaweed the last couple days we were there. It really all depends on weather and currents as to how bad the beaches will be. Property manager was easy to work with. We had an issue with the AC and they fixed it quickly. We had a great stay. Just a couple heads up items: Kitchen had plenty of cookware for our party of 6 but didn’t have any spices. We like to cook and this changed our plans a bit. Also limited amounts of common items like, toilet paper, dishwasher soap, hand soaps, hand towels, etc. None of this was an issue for us but it’s helpful to know so you can plan for it. We stay in a lot of VRBO’s in the states and are more used to these common items being readily available. All in all we highly recommend this facility. One thing we were very appreciative of was the level of security. 2 gates to pass through plus security staff roaming the premises 24hrs keeping an eye on things.

The property was really nice, but the apartment had a terrible smell of humidity and it was overwhelming in the master bedroom. We did communicate this problem and they brought us a dehumidifier. The wall above the bed has mold or mildew and the toilet in the master bedroom kept running. The private pool is advertised as a pool but in reality is more like a water fountain that is only about a foot deep. The first pool by the the restaurant has become a birdbath and it is full of feathers and bird droppings. The staff walks by it and does nothing about it. The staff were very courteous and attentive.

Great location and very close to the beach everything is very private and just what we wanted. If you don’t have your own transportation be advised that taxis are outrageously expensive they charge you $30 to take you 5 min down the road and then charge you an additional $10 since it’s a private residential entrance and they have to check in twice just to get to your unit. One of the taxi guys said they have to provide their ID and then get their ID back once they exit and many don’t want to go through the hassle. The pool is about 2.5 feet so there is really no point in getting the condo unit with a pool because it’s like a kitty pool. The only reason I can’t give this place a 5 stars is because on Saturday and even Friday bright and early all through the day there was so much noise from the upstairs unit. I went outside to see what the noise was and they were remodeling the unit above and it was just hammering and drilling noise all day. Other than that the stay was good. I would return to the area.

It was never too crowded and staff lay out chairs and umbrellas everyday. Mareazul is a massive complex and is really beautiful overall. Our room was the ocean front penthouse and the view was spectacular! A car is likely needed to get around unless you are willing to spend $$$ on taxis into town. Disappointments: our room had an adjoining door/wall to the neighbouring apartment through which we could hear everything. We had no idea the room was set up this way and feel this was false advertising through omission of details. Mareazul does not offer round the clock on site support; the front desk staff leave at 2130h. We could not get into our room due to an issue with the door code and it took us over 1.5 hours to track down help. The number on the reservation was not in service. The emergency number provided at the front desk led us to someone who could not offer any solutions. We had to beg the reluctant security to try to help us and eventually we were connected to Yasmin who was very helpful and did respond to many other issues. There were bed sheets with stains on them and the dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen one night (pipes flimsy and held together with duct tape). Our condo was absolutely amazing. It looked brand new and was very modern. The electronics and appliances were top notch. We really enjoyed the pools and beach access. Not overly busy and beautiful. I would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed in one of the penthouses at this property and it was 5 star all the way. Beautiful on the inside and all new furnishings and appliances. They are not all like this fo make sure you know what you are getting because the north side buildings all seem newer and more updated. It was bad weather while we were on vacation so we were so grateful to have a beautiful place with an outstanding kitchen to spend our time. The outside amenities could use a little updating and maintenance. I wound rate this part as more of a 3-4 star. The water fountains were not on, lots of paint chips on the walls and not a lot of pool chairs or loungers out for guests. It’s beautiful at night when you don’t see this but in te day light, you notice it’s a little run down. Nothing terrible, but it could look so much better with new paint and some maintenance. Now to the spa. We booked 3 massages and o e facial all at 4:00 so we could all go at the same time and finish together. The gals who booked us said we could go an hour early to use the amenities so we did just that. Well, it turned out we were not booked together and we had to wait for people before us to leave before we could go in. 5 more minutes, 5 more minutes, just a couple more minutes….finally after waiting outside and 15 mosquito bites later, we were able to go in but there was only one locker room got both men and women and our appts were not together. Two of us had to wait an hour.

An unforgettable stay at Mareazul My stay at Mareazul was absolutely amazing. The condo was beautiful, very clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed to relax and enjoy our vacation. The ocean view was stunning, and the common areas—like the pool, gardens, and private beach—were all impeccably maintained. The location is perfect: peaceful, safe, and just minutes away from everything Playa del Carmen has to offer. The staff was kind and helpful, which made the experience even better. Absolutely wonderful stay. I cannot praise Yasmin with hospitality enough. She went above and beyond to make our vacation as enjoyable as possible. Every person that we had contact with at the resort was amazing. So polite and friendly. Even the taxi driver, Victor, was amazing. The ONLY negative things that I can say for the condo itself are 1) there were not enough bath towels & wash cloths, 2) the bed in the master room was uncomfortable, making my back very sore. As far as any negative comment for the resort itself is the breakfast restaurant server did over charge when we paid in cash. I guess he didn’t think we knew what the exchange rate was. All in all, I would absolutely go back. If you are deciding on whether to visit here, Yasmin is definitely your go to. I’ve never had such an amazing and accommodating concierge. The bartender and staff at the main restaurant were also phenomenal. The food was wonderful as well. We didn’t worry one bit about anything because the staff made sure that we were well taken care of. I can’t wait to visit again.

Mareazul is an easy taxi ride to downtown playa and a great choice for families. Its quiet, with a nice beach and a huge pool. We stayed in the ocean front penthouse and the views were amazing.

To begin, the communication and attention from guest services especially Yasmin was over the top. Like staying at a 5star resort. Welcoming us and making us feel like we made the right decision from the get go. From organizing a birthday event for our youngest while we were there to arranging contacts with rental car agents, private tours to Chichen Itza and more. The rooms while other reviews mentioned they were outdated and in need of some upkeep. I can agree with some of that. I have paid much more to have much worse room condition in America so I guess for me and my family of 5, myself and four girls, it was a perfect escape from the reality that is America today and enjoy beautiful and rich cultural experiences. We felt safe the entire time. Even had a slight accident and their security and host Carlos were right there to help. As stated by our three daughters 10/10 would recommend again. Would I go back, in a heartbeat. No doubt about it. Planning our trip back already.

There were multiple problems accessing the property, we had to wait hours after checkin time to even be able to enter the property. Another family member was cancelled and unable to get into their room with no notice, so they travelled for no reason.

The only reason I can’t give this place a 5 stars is because on Saturday and even Friday bright and early all through the day there was so much noise from the upstairs unit. I went outside to see what the noise was and they were remodeling the unit above and it was just hammering and drilling noise all day. Other than that the stay was good. I would return to the area.

Great if you want peace and quiet. There is alot of seaweed at the beach. Have to take a cab to go anywhere. Restaurants are not cheap for large families.

An unforgettable stay at Mareazul My stay at Mareazul was absolutely amazing. The condo was beautiful, very clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed to relax and enjoy our vacation. The ocean view was stunning, and the common areas—like the pool, gardens, and private beach—were all impeccably maintained. The location is perfect: peaceful, safe, and just minutes away from everything Playa del Carmen has to offer. The staff was kind and helpful, which made the experience even better. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, beautiful, and relaxing place in the Mexican Caribbean. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

La plage la plus belle de Playa sable blanc et surtout très peu de monde. L appt est très bien équipé et spacieux en face de la piscine qui est immense et très propre, la plage à 5 mn à pied en longeant la piscine. Le personnel du complexe très souriant et l endroit très sécurisé. Transat et parasol à disposition sur la plage . Pour aller à la Quinta il faut marcher 2km ou le mieux est d être véhiculé. Attention à bien payé l horadateur, ou vous aurez un sabot (30 euros) sur la voiture ( du vécu). De belle balade à faire sur la plage à droite vers Playa centre et à gauche vous longerez tous les hôtels. Je vous recommande cet appt très bien équipé, un jacuzzi sur la terrasse très agréable aussi.

Mareazul is an easy taxi ride to downtown playa and a great choice for families. Its quiet, with a nice beach and a huge pool. We stayed in the ocean front penthouse and the views were amazing.

Amazing views! We watched the sun rise every morning. The people were nice and the condo was beautiful. The pool at the complex is also amazing and we ate on property several times. The beach is nice and private. There was a Walmart nearby so we stocked up on food and drinks and laundry detergent and had just what we needed. Renting a car is a must.

Me and my family enjoyed our stay. The restaurants open at 9am and we are early risers so that was our only compliment. Gym is nice! Pool is nice and spacious. Everyone was nice and helpful Will be back!

Absolutely wonderful stay. I cannot praise Yasmin with hospitality enough. She went above and beyond to make our vacation as enjoyable as possible. Every person that we had contact with at the resort was amazing. So polite and friendly. Even the taxi driver, Victor, was amazing. The ONLY negative things that I can say for the condo itself are 1) there were not enough bath towels & wash cloths, 2) the bed in the master room was uncomfortable, making my back very sore. As far as any negative comment for the resort itself is the breakfast restaurant server did over charge when we paid in cash. I guess he didn’t think we knew what the exchange rate was. All in all, I would absolutely go back. If you are deciding on whether to visit here, Yasmin is definitely your go to. I’ve never had such an amazing and accommodating concierge. The bartender and staff at the main restaurant were also phenomenal. The food was wonderful as well. We didn’t worry one bit about anything because the staff made sure that we were well taken care of. I can’t wait to visit again.

I loved our stay at Mareazul Beach Resort. Wish i was still there. The apartment was extremely clean and pretty. The property was also super clean and gorgeous. A beautiful pool that slans lenth of property and ending with a private beach entrance. Property had a little store and 2 restaurants with delicious food. Hope to return!

There is no shopping around the property unless you walk the 30-45min to 5th ave. There’s a mini mart on the property but it closes early. You also need a taxi to take you to grocery shopping if you plan on spending a couple days there. The restaurant on site is very pricey and alcoholic drinks from there weren’t good. It would probably benefit if you rented a car that way you don’t have to pay a taxi anytime you need to go to the store.

Property was great! The large central pool was very clean and fun to play in. 2 restaurants located on site. Easy access to the beach. Beach was very clean when we got there and then became full of seaweed the last couple days we were there. It really all depends on weather and currents as to how bad the beaches will be. Property manager was easy to work with. We had an issue with the AC and they fixed it quickly. We had a great stay. Just a couple heads up items: Kitchen had plenty of cookware for our party of 6 but didn’t have any spices. We like to cook and this changed our plans a bit. Also limited amounts of common items like, toilet paper, dishwasher soap, hand soaps, hand towels, etc. None of this was an issue for us but it’s helpful to know so you can plan for it. We stay in a lot of VRBO’s in the states and are more used to these common items being readily available. All in all we highly recommend this facility. One thing we were very appreciative of was the level of security. 2 gates to pass through plus security staff roaming the premises 24hrs keeping an eye on things.

The property was beautiful to walk through and to just relax on the private beach area and large pool area! The restaurant on property was delicious, staff was very hospitable two thumbs up! Our specific condo was perfect for our group of 7 it was just as the pictures showed we all had a relaxing &fun stay ! We most definitely be returning to Mareazul !

The resort is great and very clean. The room was clean, airy and well stuffed with everything we needed to cook meal and enjoy time in family. Unfortunately, we booked a specific room type which was changed last minute without notices. We had paid extra for a swim out room and the changed room had a non-functional swim out. Communications with the property were tough before and became impossible once we were changed unit. Since it's an owner rental and not a hotel, the resort could not help. The wifi stopped working late in our week and the owner was prompt to respond which helped. Unfortunately nobody at Hotels.com or the resort nor the owners are interested to reimburse the difference for the swim out unit. I do not recommend this property as you have no recourse if one of the party doesn't fulfill their end of the contract.

We had this trip booked for months and were excited to bring our kids. All of the stuff happened with the cartel and we were getting national warnings in the US NOT to travel to the area. We tried to cancel and are still fighting for a refund. We won't be traveling here.

Wow where to start. First off all during our stay we had a huge cockroach come out of the second bedroom and we didn’t even leave and doors or windows open. Secondly they shut the water off for almost the whole day and didn’t even tell us about it and their pathetic offer to have us move all our belongings to another apartment was supposed to be their appeasement for us when we shouldn’t have to deal with any of that on vacation. Plus the front desk even confirmed that they had been told of it the day before and our concierge didn’t even think or bother to tell us about it and on top of that she said the reservations team would reach out to us after we got home to make it right and today they told us they won’t do anything to compensate us for the almost entire day we couldn’t shower or use and water in the house. I’ll be honest this place has awful service and I personally wouldn’t recommend it. Oh and this restaurant closes at 9 so if you’re thinking of grabbing some late food even on a Saturday or Friday night look elsewhere. I’m not sure who this resort caters to but it’s obviously not people looking for good service. Oh and the pool with the condo is in terrible shape with a huge patch missing tiles and the stucco falling off all around the pool, not what we paid for!
