The staff were fantastic. The food was amazing if a bit on high cost side. .. The aurora notification where fantastic idea and worked very well. The pools and sauna where outstanding, but could have been included in the cost of your stay??.. Overall an amazing adventure and stay at the hotel and would definitely stay again... The area around the hotel was amazing with plenty of activities and walking. The into the glazier tour was out of this world..

Great hotel. Staff are friendly. Northern lights wake-up call was a nice touch. Food at the restaurant is expensive but the meals are really good. Definitely remote and need to have activities planned and some backup snacks, alcohol and necessities if you don’t want to pay for everything. But great relaxing stay. Access to the public pool was also nice.

We had a wonderful two night stay here and managed to see the northern lights outside the hotel after dinner! The food is delicious and the rooms are clean and well equipped. We really enjoyed using the thermal baths outside after a full day out. Lots to do in the local area including lava cave tour, glacier cave. Canyon baths and waterfalls! I’d really recommend this hotel. The staff were fantastic and very helpful.

This chef was outstanding. I’ve not had a bad meal in Iceland yet but the meals I’ve had at Husafell far exceeded everywhere else. He would hold his own in NYC. As for the hotel it also was exactly what we hoped for. Húsafell is remote, and we arrived when it was snowing. It was NOT an easy drive. Still I would highly recommend it. The pools were warm, very clean and perfect for relaxing in. They were only open 15:00-20:00 though. Sign up for the hot spring. Great in winter!! Also be sure to visit nearby waterfalls.

Beautiful region of Iceland. Amazing waterfalls nearby. Husafell Canyon Baths were incredible to visit. Volcano heated pools that we visited were so nice. Great tour with a friendly guide. Only as many as 16 people go at a time. So fun. The hotel staff were friendly and helped us find lots to do in the area. There is hiking near here, a golf course if your so inclined as well. The restaurant in the hotel had amazing food. It was a high end dining experience. Can’t say enough about this hotel. 10/10 for sure.

Fantastic restaurant and walking distance to great hiking. Terrible beds and pillows. Misleading pictures as they show a spa that is not the hotel spa but rather a very costly spa nearly. They do have a steam room and hot pools and a cold plunge pool but it looks nothing like the natural springs on the Expedia profile.

The hotel restaurant is fantastic! Food is fresh, locally sourced and delicious. The hotel has an understated luxurious feel with warm comforts and great service. The onsite thermal pools were wonderful after a long day on the glaciers or caving; traveled with a 9yr old and he was more than welcome in the pools and had a great time. Also, a great location as it is a 1 min walk from Into the Glacier tours (highly recommend)

Hotel Husafell is a very modern, functional and clean facility. Dining is a bit overpriced, even for Iceland standards. Went for the Northern Lights, as it supposedly is one of the best hotels for them. Unfortunately, even with the phone alert service they provide overnight, if it rains or it snows, you won’t be able to see Northern Lights…😩

Dejlig rent værelse. Dog kunne der godt være to stole, så begge kunne sidde. Personalet var super flinke, og sød receptionist, som hjalp med booking af aktiviteter. Maden var lækker, men dyrt (men det er det vist bare på Island). Få muligheder for at spise andre steder, da det ligger ret isoleret. Men fantastisk placering ift. Hraunfossar og Barnafoss samt Lavagrotten. Og så var der nordlys - wauw!!! Som en rigtig fin service kunne man tilmelde sig vækning om natten, hvis der kom nordlys. Receptionisten havde virkelig travlt alle 3 nætter, vi var dér ☺️

Hotel and staff are very nice. The food in the restaurant is excellent!! The provided breakfast has a lot of options, both American and Icelandic. We didn’t have time to enjoy the pool but it looked very nice and saw a number of people using it. The hotel is quiet and our room was large and had a great view.

Lovely, Scandi-chic hotel with super helpful staff. Rooms are very comfortable. The service at the restaurant is great and the food very well executed, the only thing that we would love to see is for the dinner menu to offer one or two more “simple” menu items for guests looking for a more approachable meal. We had a lovely stay at Hotel Hussafel and particularly enjoyed their fabulous world-class restaurant. The staff was fabulous and very helpful when it came to making decisions about our plans. They directed us to a great exhibit at the Settlement Museum on a day when it was a bit too cold to go horse back riding and also helped us book a helicopter tour. We can highly recommend this hotel.

The property is beautiful and the staff was so friendly and helpful. And, i have to say that Clara at the front desk was the absolute best in terms of trying to help us with anything we needed from hiking recommendations to restaurants to anything else we needed. There are fabulous hikes right from the property and easy access to the nearby glacier and other adventures. Lastly, the food was really good! And, the chef was willing to be flexible with the menu items to meet our dietary requirements. Great job! Oh, and don't miss the deserts!! they were really, really great!

Front desk staff not friendly, simple questions seemed to annoy them. Hotel advertising deceptive, hotel pool shown in ads costs more money to use ($25 or so) for single use. Only two very expensive restaurants and they require reservations. Nothing else is close.

Dejlig rent værelse. Dog kunne der godt være to stole, så begge kunne sidde. Personalet var super flinke, og sød receptionist, som hjalp med booking af aktiviteter. Maden var lækker, men dyrt (men det er det vist bare på Island). Få muligheder for at spise andre steder, da det ligger ret isoleret. Men fantastisk placering ift. Hraunfossar og Barnafoss samt Lavagrotten. Og så var der nordlys - wauw!!! Som en rigtig fin service kunne man tilmelde sig vækning om natten, hvis der kom nordlys. Receptionisten havde virkelig travlt alle 3 nætter, vi var dér ☺️

We stayed an additional unplanned day. Slept in, went to the Hraunfosser (easy access and multiple viewpoints) then back to Hotel Husafell for the geothermal baths. It was a well needed, thoroughly relaxing day

Perfect end to eight day ring road trip. Great hotel, fit in golf and hot pool on property, great dinner, and capped it off with viewing northern lights from parking lot. I little out of the way, but work it if you can fit in.

Hotel Husafell is a very modern, functional and clean facility. Dining is a bit overpriced, even for Iceland standards. Went for the Northern Lights, as it supposedly is one of the best hotels for them. Unfortunately, even with the phone alert service they provide overnight, if it rains or it snows, you won’t be able to see Northern Lights…😩

Restaurant food is great (though limited vegetarian options- which is expected) and staff is super friendly and happy to help plan any outings. Hot baths are a great place to relax. Great for northern lights viewing as husafell has less light pollution.

Beautiful region of Iceland. Amazing waterfalls nearby. Husafell Canyon Baths were incredible to visit. Volcano heated pools that we visited were so nice. Great tour with a friendly guide. Only as many as 16 people go at a time. So fun. The hotel staff were friendly and helped us find lots to do in the area. There is hiking near here, a golf course if your so inclined as well. The restaurant in the hotel had amazing food. It was a high end dining experience. Can’t say enough about this hotel. 10/10 for sure.

Nice location out in the mountains. Food was excellent at their restaurant. The canyon baths were amazing! It is a little bit away from everything, but that’s a lot of its appeal.

The hotel restaurant is fantastic! Food is fresh, locally sourced and delicious. The hotel has an understated luxurious feel with warm comforts and great service. The onsite thermal pools were wonderful after a long day on the glaciers or caving; traveled with a 9yr old and he was more than welcome in the pools and had a great time. Also, a great location as it is a 1 min walk from Into the Glacier tours (highly recommend)

Hotel and staff are very nice. The food in the restaurant is excellent!! The provided breakfast has a lot of options, both American and Icelandic. We didn’t have time to enjoy the pool but it looked very nice and saw a number of people using it. The hotel is quiet and our room was large and had a great view.

Dinners are very expensive for what you get and menu quite limited. However service excellent. Facility is excellent. Bathroom spacious with heated floor!!! Parking in gravel, Drip bags on the cobblestone sidewalk before parking.

Hotel Husafell is an amazing place to stay. The staff is extremely friendly and the rooms are amazing. And the restaurant has the BEST food. We stayed there 4 nights and while we had dinner reservations at 2 other places we ended up cancelling and ate at Husafell each night.

Loved this property anda great locaation for visiting the aread The breakfast includded in the booking was great. We also did the geo thermal baths in the area from the hotel. Our dinner was very good but expensive as most of Iceland is. They have a happy hour were drinks ate discounted.

The restaurant on site was incredible. We ate dinner there: scallop appetizer, cod, salad, and pea ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Likewise, the breakfast buffet was delightful with a good array of choices.

Very nice hotel, the restaurant was a little fancier then excepted but still had a nice kids menu. Did need to make reservations which was a little weird but not a huge issue. Breakfast buffet was very nice.

We weren’t aware that this hotel is far from amenities. The photos look more impressive than the hotel was. The rooms are very bare - we had the room closest to the lobby and the noise level from the restaurant was at times high. The hotel just didn’t suit our needs. Hotel staff was friendly. We expected a luxury hotel and this wasn’t it. Breakfast was ok without much variation from one day to the next. Dinner was good.
