We arrived early and the gentleman at the desk checked with housekeeping for an available room. It overlooked the marina and while small was well kept and the balcony was an added surprise. The restaurant and lobby offered a comfortable retreat.

The Marina hotel has amazing facilities including a welcoming fire place in the lobby, a beautiful lounge and library, and a very convenient bar and restaurant--all on the ground floor. We took full advantage of the shared rooms and would highly recommend staying here.

Fun little hotel, unique decor with several cute little spots to hang out - guest lounges, a cinema. We loved the location down by the docks, a little out of the busy area but still easy to walk to the main streets & museums.

Nice rooms, interesting location by working harbor, tons of shopping and food within easy walking distances. Cons are the parking is very challenging, breakfast is very expensive, elevator is slow, prices for everything in Iceland are very expensive. Would stay again.

Amazing location! Parking is offsite but we never had an issue finding a spot within a few footsteps from the door. Make sure to have a few cocktails at the restaurant and take a walk to Seabaron next door!

Loved the location next to the marina. The restaurant was fantastic with lots of options and a happy hour. There were lots of nice common areas within the hotel. There was a supermarket and tons of food options within walking distance. The parking was easy although it was about a block away in a dirt lot.

I loved the facilities available Inside the hotel. There was a fire pit, a Comfortable sitting area, A reading room with a library of books waiting for you, And a wonderful restaurant. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and how to safe for valuables. The hotel is a little out-of-the-way, But not bad. There is plenty of parking nearby.

The bathroom was not clean. Hairs all over the shower both long hairs and pubic hairs. Staff did not want to change my room even after coming to the room and verifying that it was dirty. They said they were not able to change my room even though the hotel was not full.

Sehr schönes Hotel, sehr nettes Personal. Ruhige, sichere und angenehme Umgebung mit sehr vielen Restaurants, Imbissen und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Nahe am Zentrum. ÖPNV in unmittelbarer Nähe. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Kleinere Abzüge bzgl. Sauberkeit (Abfluss funktionierte nicht optimal und bei der Zimmerreinigung wurden teils Stellen übersehen). Ich würde das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen.

My partner and I have been staying here on and off for almost 10 years. This stay I noticed the quality has significantly declined: the rooms are not being maintained: fairly worn furniture, walls, decor and not well-cleaned(dirt on floors, sticky counters, all around inattention to details). The coffee machines are now cheap and the hallways and stairs were dirty and not vacuumed once in the 3 days I was there. The breakfast also used to be top notch, but now was pretty terrible option-wise. The location is still great and the staff were all very nice. It appears they’ve been acquired by a chain since we’ve last stayed. I hope they choose to reinvest in the property. It’s been an absolute gem and it’s sad to see it declining. I’m not sure I’ll stay here again on my return trip.

The property itself was fine. Breakfast was included in our stay and the options were enough for some variety throughout the reservation. Cleanliness of the room was subpar. An eaten lollipop stick was found underneath the blanket following our first night. The third day, housekeeping cleaned out room and left bodily fluid, blood, on our bedsheets. We requested new linen for 2 days straight after being told housekeeping leaves at 4 PM and there’s nothing they could do. Quite unsanitary.

Great location for restaurants and marina excursions. Staff friendly and helpful. Only complaint for our winter visit was no thermostat in the room and they keep them very warm at night. Rectified by opening windows but our room opened onto street level so a bit noisy.

Gorgeous room although road noise so would have preferred a marina view. We had a suite which had a sofa bed in the lovely living area, 2 TV’s, lovely bathroom with bath and shower. Breakfast is nice. Staff are great, location very handy.

So unique from the second you step in the door. The front desk staff (shoutout to Daniel) are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The decor of the lobby area is perfect with lots of seating and cute little seating areas as well as being attached to the restaurant. The rooms are small but perfectly laid out and decorated. I loved having a balcony looking out at the marina. The bathroom amenities are amazing (L’Occitane), and the room comes with a nice will blanket for cool nights (or balcony sitting). Being right in the marina it’s slightly outside of all the city centre hype, but a super easy and scenic walk in. I loved everything about this hotel and would definitely stay again.

Lovely, quiet location by the harbour. I very much enjoyed my stay, just one note to fellow travellers - I booked a balcony room which was depicted as having a harbour view. Half of the balcony rooms face inland to the city, and so the view is not as inspiring. Would have preferred the option to book a harbour view.

Perfect location. I was able to walk to shops nearby and the church. My room was small by American standards but very well designed and laid out. The Lopi blanket was a nice touch. I wish they sold them at the hotel as one would have come home with me. I read a comment before I arrived that said to ask for the Marina side if you have a balcony room so thank you to that person. My only note is parking is not available. I ended up parking on a side street or the whale watching lot. It was not a big deal and it was free. I had no issues and as a solo traveler felt perfectly safe at night. When I return to Iceland I will stay here again. It was awesome.

Overall property is fantastic and perfectly located for walking around downtown with kids. Close to grocery stores and attractions. Studio-6 room was perfect for family of 4. Be aware that these rooms sit just below sidewalk level facing towards the street, and can somewhat get warm and stuffy in the summer (no central air in Iceland). Opening the windows brought in cool air, but also noise from the street. Overall we would definitely book this hotel/room again - but bring a small plug-in fan.

Staff is pretty rude and unhelpful. Highlight of my stay was staff entering my room without permission or warning. If you value privacy this is not your place. It’s by no means a 4 star hotel…you’d be better of staying at a generic chain than this place. Saving grace is location.

After a red eye flight and drive from the airport we were exhausted and wanted to rest but had several hours before check-in. We arrived at the hotel early and asked if we could get into our room earlier. The staff was super helpful and got us into a room. We took the power nap of our lives and enjoyed the walk ability of the area after.

The tours picking up at bus stop needs to be widely communicated to guests! Front desk is relatively non-chalant in telling guests that pick up could be at lobby when in my experience it never is. In fact every tour I took says they must pick up at bus stop. Please let the guests know that instead of nonchalantly saying yes to them when they ask if pick up is at lobby. They could be missing a tour with that response!

Fantastic staff from check-in (slightly early with no additional charge/friendly & helpful), to wait staff, to check-out. Biggest negative was Bus Stop 15 does not exist anymore due to construction. IF it ever returns will be no earlier than 2027.

What a great place to stay. Lovely, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, very welcoming, great room with a great view, and lovely quality toiletries. We stayed for 4 nights and loved it. The property is on the marina and is a lovely quiet area. It is a short walk from everything, and there are lots of restaurants within a short distance. Although there is no parking listed on the property details, we hired a car and there was lots of free parking behind the hotel in a safe area. We had breakfast included and there were lots of options available to suit all tastes. We arrived early after a very early morning flight hoping to have our luggage looked after, but they allowed us to check-in early which was brilliant. We even got upgraded for free to a residential suite instead of the double room we booked as I mentioned it was my partner’s birthday, and this was a really nice touch! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and provided great advice about the local area and any excursions. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was really comfortable. Would absolutely stay here again, can’t recommend enough!

An eaten lollipop stick was found underneath the blanket following our first night. The third day, housekeeping cleaned out room and left bodily fluid, blood, on our bedsheets. We requested new linen for 2 days straight after being told housekeeping leaves at 4 PM and there’s nothing they could do. Quite unsanitary.

Hotel is near to but not too close to downtown, walking in snowy conditions can be difficult. It feels like in a far side corner of the main city centre, entrance is odd and breakfast is very basic.

There is a shipyard that is sanding big ships all day long and it is loud. The good thing is we were out all day long and the noise stops after work hours. There is no free parking, but free parking is very close by and plentiful. The location is just outside the perimeter of downtown so it is very peaceful and quiet at night. Plenty of dining options nearby, yet 8 minutes walk and you're at the big church.

The hotel was everything we could have hoped for. The location was brilliant, a short walk to the harbour and the nearest bus stop for excursions was a 2 minute walk. The city centre and tourist hotspots were walkable too. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the hotel was clean, I would definitely stay there again if I go back to Iceland

Very good location to visit the Lava show and the Fly Over Iceland but also to go to “downtown” Reykjavik. Good restaurant and bar with friendly staff. Only downside was the Christmas dinner only offering a price fix menu that was pricey .

The room was really lovely. Great view, great location. Lovely breakfast that is well worth paying for, you won't get better any cheaper in Reykjavik. Had one evening meal there which was fantastic. Second stay here. I like the Scandinavian design and decor. Rooms are small and simple but comfortable. Great sitting areas on ground level that very pleasant. Staff smiling and pleasant. Good location at the harbor. US$36 breakfast is outrageous! Even the staff thought it was crazy. Walk down a block to local cafe.

A lovely quirky hotel which is a bit of a hidden gem. It doesnt look much from the outside but its lovely inside, had a great bar and food was excellent. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Lack of room service was an issue for this supposed 4 star rated property but not a major issue. Friendly front office staff. Food at dinner was surprisingly good, but the breakfast was fair. Pancakes were cold, sausages of poor quality but good coffee and fruits.

Overall happy with the stay. We had some inconvenience due to their parking area is on renovation. We are being asked to park bit far in a grocery store parking lot. We couldn’t bring our luggage to the room due to the distance,other than that no issues, I am assuming that’s a temporary problem. I would recommend this place.
