We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The food was excellent - we had breakfasts and a very tasty meal in the restaurant. We also used the swimming pool - it opens at 9 and closes at 6 which is a bit disappointing if you are looking for an early morning or evening dip. It is a fantastic location - beautiful scenery and lots of outdoor activities. Highly recommended.

Ok experience - food was mediocre, so was the service. Pool and changing rooms were not up to 4 star standard, unclean with a much needed upgrade. Otherwise perfect location and potential to be a great hotel - but needs some attention to service, food and upgrades.

I've given 3 stars for my room which was lovely with a fabulous view and the receptionist in the spa who was so lovely and friendly and remembered it was my birthday. The therapist who did was facial was lovely too and her facial up with the best I have had. I do feeI the spa is in need of modernisation Breakfast, especially my first was very dissapoining second morning maybe a different chef. The cold offerings were very basic then I toasted my bread and it came out black, the waiter answered we can't change the settings, I wasn't impressed with the toaster or him! I asked for bacon, black pudding and tattle scones from the kitchen, they arrived on a small white plate which was far too small for them and had obviously been sitting around for a long time as were overcooked. My second morning item from the kitchen was much better as I ordered pancakes and bacon and both were fresh and served on a large warmed plate as one would expect. I felt the waiting on staff in both the breakfast room and the bar at night were a mixed bag of very helpful and pleasant to dismissive and miserable. I presume the large number of tradesmen using the hotel is probably a seasonal thing but it wasn't the best atmosphere being surrounded by then in the breakfast room and bar as it didn't lend itself to the ambience of the hotel that appears on your website. Reception staff and cleaners were all very friendly and helpful and my stay was nice but not quite what I was expecting in quality at times.

The room was nicely appointed, comfortable bed and great views of Loch Rannoch to enjoy. Wee bit of a tricky drive to get there so you have to be paying attention to the narrow country roads. Food and drink was good. Good facilities to use, with the gym and spa/pool.

Amazing view and a dog friendly hotel. Our pup had a great time and so did we! Sun and sheep showed up and cheered up the day! Loved the pool, sauna and steam room! Best black pudding I have had on the breakfast buffet.

Lovely location, but awful service (especially from restaurant staff). Lots of activities advertised, but you need to email in advance, as there's no one to talk to/book with. Swimming pool absolutely freezing. Wi-Fi non existent outside public areas. Restaurant staff rude and brusque. Nice location, but won't be back.

Loved it. Basic but nice spa. The hotel breakfast was great, as was the dinner. The service in all parts of the hotel was excellent. We played squash, used the gym, spa, and games room. The only downside of the games room was that some bits for the games were missing but we had fun nonetheless. The bar had live music on the Friday night and the bar area had board games and chess tables. Beautiful views. Lovely room.

Spent the weekend here for my 60th birthday celebrations. Was fantastic! Staff were well mannered and made sure we had a wonderful stay. The food was prepared to a very high standard, hotel was very clean & the whole weekend was fantastic. Will definitely return.

Stunning views over the loch and surrounding hills. A lovely welcome from Ann on reception. Food and service were excellent. The room was clean, the bed comfortable (a lighter duvet would have been a bonus as the room was very warm and that was with the heating off and windows open). If you fancy climbing a Munro, Schiehallion is about 15 minutes from the hotel to the car park. Can't fault it and would stay again. Thank you.

Room must have been recently refurbed. Stayed in a comfort double and was very appealing, bed was comfortable and facilities bedroom were clean and tidy. We had an issue on our last night stay where we never got any sleep due to a thumping from pipes every 20 seconds. Complained to reception but was not offered a room change till 7am, which by then there was no point. Coupled with the other 2 mornings there being fire alarms. Its safe to say we never slept very well over the course of our weekend. Other aspects of the hotel were not as tidy or clean such as the toilet area in the wild brownie bar and off of reception, as well as within the liesure area changing room/ shower facilities. The food at the estate room is lovely, service was good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Although very limited for vegetarians. The food at the wild brownie bar was awful (from a vegetarian perspective). Limited choice, the pasta main dish appears nothing like it is described on the menu. Staff were friendly and very approachable. The pool is a good size. The surrounding area of the pool, sauna and steamroom were always clean. The liesure facility down at the marina was clean, useful and very reasonably priced for outdoor persuits. The hotel seemed busy with what appeared to be not enough staff on at times, leading to busy breakfast services, dinner service and queuing at reception and bar area.

Stunning location unfortunately they seem very short of staff particularly at breakfast . No breakfast menu just buffet. Paid for loch view but window was so dirty couldn’t see out this was on the inner glass of double glazing which I was told other people complained about

We were so disappointed with this hotel, it ruined our holiday. We had booked 3 nights away is what was supposed to be a spa hotel. We arrived at 5.40, their children were really looking forward to a swim but we’re told the pool closed at 6. We decided to get settled in to the room and get dinner. We were told that they did not serve the children’s menu in the main dining room only in the bar. Basically saying kids are not welcome in the dining room, although it is supposed to be family friendly. I advised the receptionist our children would eat from the main menu, we were still seated in the bar. The bar was really cold and the food was disappointing. The room we were given was dirty, the bath was full of hair, shower screen covered in soap and there was thick dust and cobwebs on the walls. My daughter then found a half eaten bag of popcorn beside her bed. I phoned reception and complained, was told they could clean our room bike we had dinner but I requested a new room. The new room was nice but smelt strongly of bleach to over compensate obviously. The next morning was the biggest disappointment. We went to use the spa after breakfast, we were all really looking forward to a cozy spa and a swim. I was shocked at the conditions in the spa. I have attached photos for you to see for yourself. The changing facilities were disgusting. One communal dirty shower for the whole female changing area. The pool was freezing. The steam room was out of order and sauna filthy.

It is a beautiful location and a great get away. Our room felt recently upgraded with 2 generous and comfortable beds. The leisure facilities need a good deep clean,water marks all over the shower screen,cobwebs in the changing rooms. Steam room wasn’t working every day we were there but when it was working it was fab! There is no option but to eat in the hotel for all your meals. The food is nice but limited options,we would have struggled to eat there for a 3rd night. Staff are fabulous. The restaurant is on the small side for the number of guests,feels cramped. The bar could do with stocking more local spirits. There are no recycling facilities at the hotel which is very disappointing and not eco conscious. Could do with some places to refill water bottles. I filled it up from the breakfast jugs but there was lots of floaters in the water-not pleasant. Would be amazing to see a commitment to the environment in such a scenic location. A great place to get away but do your research before you go

Staff were very friendly and helpful, felt very welcomed. Lots to do in the hotel and surrounding area. Hired an electric bike from the leisure centre and cycled out to Rannoch station. Good value for the hire. Room very comfortable with a lovely view of the loch. Only negative the room toilet rim could do with a dose of bleach. Overall a lovely stay - would go back.

General comments and observations: - Hotel, due to location, very focused on cash out on customers: £6 for a lager and only extra options for breakfast which you need to pay for - no allergies descriptions on the food nor the description itself what you eat - no WiFi or very spotty in the rooms further from the reception, so you must relay on your 4g...as for 4 stars hotel, I would say that is poor service, - basic breakfast, some pastry, two types of watermelon as fruit options, mostly focused on full English, some selection of gluten-free. There is a selection of extras, but you will have to pay for them. Again, as for 4 start hotels, you would expect much more. I need to say I eat better in Premier Inn recently. You need to ask for a coffee (only black coffee, a nothing else) and tea pot. Dont get me wrong you wont leave hungry, but there are only cut melon and watermelon from fruit selection, only toast bread only natural yoghurt, no fresh veg, only ham or cheese, no other choices for sandwich....for 4 stars is rather poorly. We have stayed in the Contemporary Room, and the room was clean with a nice view on the lake, although in the summer with full leaf foliage on the trees, not much of the lake you will see. Pool is a 5 min walk outdoors from the hotel. The same is the gym. The pool has wet and dry saunas available. Pron: decent toiletries, selection of still and sparkling water, pool towels. Con: mould in the window corner You MUST book you table for food

Room had been refurbished but hadn't replaced bed base or added vallance so base was peeling - otherwise funishings were very good. Room was noisy, could heear footsteps from room above and also muffled conversation.

Our 3 night stay was good , bit of a hiccup with the t.v in the first room but the staff was amazing to sort this out & move us quite quickly. The staff are very friendly, beautiful walks into the village, lovely little place called cornerstone, also staff are lovely & welcoming.

Fabulous stay - scenery is unbeatable. Service from staff is first class. Food in the à la carte Restaraunt by far the highlight. Good breakfast selection and fresh eggs/porridge made to order. TV system was down, didn’t impact us because of the storm recently. The drive in and out to Pitlochry is like being in a James Bond film.

Service was very poor particularly in the bar and brasserie - staff are more intent on pandering to coach tours of visiting tourists and whole experience reflected a level of service acceptable to the captive audience of day trippers - the management would do well to reflect on whether they value individual guests like ourselves booking directly and expecting a much higher standard of guest care - one to cross off the list

Spent the weekend here for my 60th birthday celebrations. Was fantastic! Staff were well mannered and made sure we had a wonderful stay. The food was prepared to a very high standard, hotel was very clean & the whole weekend was fantastic. Will definitely return.

The hotel seems to be short of staff. They are stressed and forget to be friendly. Especially during busy breakfast hours. In general, the hotel and pool area could use some refurbishment. The environment is quiet, at the loch it‘s nice. However, you need to pay extra for all leisure activities except for using the pool.

This was a convenient stay for the day drive loop to go to Fort William and Glencoe. Some of the staff seemed grumpy. (caretaker guy was a bit rude) The food was great. The restaurant with the fishing gear hanging had an attentive, friendly staff. Everything was a tad bit overpriced in our opinion, in contrast to what we experienced on the rest of our 8 day trip.

We had a dreadful experience at the Loch Rannoch Hotel. There was a power cut on our first evening; we had no lighting, heating, running water, toilet flushing and it was still not resolved the next morning. We had no hot food or drinks. No one took charge. And then the hotel was shut down. We had to find alternative accommodation. And ten days later, after receiving many reassurances, I am still waiting on a refund. Unhelpful staff and manager - repeatedly told someone will be in touch and they are not. Stock answer when I phone is to tell me to email! Be wary when booking this hotel!

A lovely and comfortable family stay at the hotel. Great location but a bit further from the nearest town. The hotel was clean and staff was very friendly. Special thanks to the girls Renee, Van and Tabiytha for looking after the morning breakfast fabulously. Food at the brownie Restaurant was nice , thanks to Telmo for a great service. It could do better at the Estate Room dining especially with the portions of the dishes being extremely small with respect to the prices. Would love to visit again.

Wonderful, restful experience. We loved our room with its views of Loch Rannoch and Schiehallion. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. Food was good and we especially liked our breakfasts, where the staff (Magda) were extra friendly and helpful. The two down sides of our stay was a noisy flushing toilet and nowhere in the carpark to charge our EV. However, we were able to leave our car to charge in Kinloch Rannoch village, about half a Kilometre away. But we loved all the walks and beautiful views of mountains forests and lakes. we will certainly go to stay at this hotel another time!

Room must have been recently refurbed. Stayed in a comfort double and was very appealing, bed was comfortable and facilities bedroom were clean and tidy. We had an issue on our last night stay where we never got any sleep due to a thumping from pipes every 20 seconds. Complained to reception but was not offered a room change till 7am, which by then there was no point. Coupled with the other 2 mornings there being fire alarms. Its safe to say we never slept very well over the course of our weekend. Other aspects of the hotel were not as tidy or clean such as the toilet area in the wild brownie bar and off of reception, as well as within the liesure area changing room/ shower facilities. The food at the estate room is lovely, service was good and staff were very friendly and helpful. Although very limited for vegetarians. The food at the wild brownie bar was awful (from a vegetarian perspective). Limited choice, the pasta main dish appears nothing like it is described on the menu. Staff were friendly and very approachable. The pool is a good size. The surrounding area of the pool, sauna and steamroom were always clean. The liesure facility down at the marina was clean, useful and very reasonably priced for outdoor persuits. The hotel seemed busy with what appeared to be not enough staff on at times, leading to busy breakfast services, dinner service and queuing at reception and bar area.

My wife and I had a three night stay, friendly staff, comfortable room and lovely setting. Breakfast was included in our booking but beware it is continental breakfast that is included, cooked breakfast available for additional cost at the hotel. Really lovely hotel in beautiful location with excellent, attentive staff. We stayed with our baby and dog and our dog was allowed with us for meals and given a nice bed and treat. The food was great with nice vegetarian options. The only negatives for us were lack of air conditioning (we did have a fan) but appreciate this is an old property! Dogs were not allowed to be left in the room (which we understand) but it meant we could not visit the pool. Our room was nicely decorated with great views over the loch but we did find the bathroom and furniture quite tired looking. There were some nice toiletries provided in the bathroom and good quality tea and coffee in the room. Overall fantastic stay for a 4 star!
