The location is fantastic if you like walking and enjoy a quiet rural retreat. It suited us and our 2dogs perfectly. It is well equipped and comfortable , rather than smart. The WiFi is the best we have experienced in a rural holiday cottage. We enjoyed the stroll down to Porlock Weir and had good meals in the various cafe/pub/ restaurant.

What a lovely property. Tucked away off a very quiet lane. Comfy, cosy. Small private garden, woodland to rear and the sound of the waves to the front. Everything you need ( a radio would be nice) . Minutes away either walking down the hill or driving to Porlock Weir. Feeling rejuvinated.

The cottage is located in a lovely area with walks from the doorstep and a pretty harbour only a short walk away. The property is spacious for two and has plenty of hot water for showers and a bath which is good after a long walk. It is generally well equipped but does lack a table and chairs for outdoor eating A bench is provided. The view of the sea from the small landing and bedroom windows are stunning; as others have said the cottage is a little dark downstairs but the lighting is good. We enjoyed our holiday. Minehead is 20 minuters away, with large supermarkets. The house is an old cottage, so be prepared for a bit of draught, a few spiders and a low pressure in the shower. But there is plenty of hot water, a laundry machine, sufficiently equipped kitchen and a parking space right outside the front door. Not suitable if you have allergies (dogs are allowed, upstairs is carpeted).

The cottage is self was very well situated, well appointed with good laundry and kitchen facilities. Parking was adequate and the garden was fine. The owners did not make any contact with us during our stay which seems a little strange but inconsequential to our stay.

Second visit, peaceful location away from the fireworks! A little chilly when we arrived, but the log fire soon warmed things up. Greatly appreciated the free logs and kindling. Hope to return in the Summer.

Clean and comfortable, ideal for 2. Excellent base for keen walkers and birdwatchers with easy access to Porlock Weir and marsh. Private garden area is a real suntrap first thing in the morning. Owner is attentive and helpful without being intrusive.

A wonderful holiday cottage, perfect for a couple and their dogs. The cottage is well equipped, Alan (the owner) is the perfect host and you have access to the entire garden too. Perfect for a summer drink. What really makes this cottage for me is its location, remote for peace and quiet yet a very short walk to the Weir for the restaurants, pubs etc. We can recommend Ziangs at the Weir for great Asian street food.

After reading previous reviews ( by which time we had already booked our stay) I was very concerned about the standard of cleanliness \r However there was a marked improvement on what I was imagining! The kitchen was immaculate with lovely goodies left for us ie: coffee tea biscuits milk butter \r The bedding was also immaculate as were the towels From the information book I read the owners had been away for four years and standards had dropped, they are now back and the improvement is obvious

We had a great stay the cottage was very clean and had everything that you would need, the location suited us very quiet with some nice walks our two dogs loved it. Weirfest was on so we spent a couple of evenings down there listening to some bands and sampling the local ale. Great meal at the Bottom Ship which is a short walk away and the hotel next door does a good pizza. Overall a great cottage if you want peace and quiet we will be staying again.

Worthy Cottage was 'just right'. It was cosy, quiet and we woke each morning with sunlight, birdsong and rustling leaves on the trees. The cottage is well-equipped, well maintained and clean. The host was friendly and helpful, texting us to check that all was well at the beginning, middle and end of the holiday - attentive but not instrusive. It is a short and easy walk on a path through fields to Porlock Weir for a stroll round the harbour with a pub, hotel, ice-cream shop and post box. There are many paths for walking that can start just outside the cottage or with a short drive . The geography and history of the local area are fascinating and the Exmoor National Park website is a treasure!

Lovely location, very scenic. We particularly loved all the coastal walks that could done from the doorstep with our dog, one in particular right on the doorstep is the walk through the woods to Culbone Church, well worth the effort takes about an hour each way. we also like birdwatching so visited some of the nature reserves, one in particular we have been to before at Steart, which is near Burnham, a bit difficult to find as sign posting not very good, but well worth the effort. Local pub/restaurant only 10/15 minute walk from cottage, though there were some really nice ones in Porlock town. Recommend a torch if walking to local pub in the evening. Cottage not as clean as it could have been.\r Everyone very friendly and helpful.

Property has a lack of privacy with no garden or outside space. Living room could do with a side window to make it feel less claustrophobic. The whole property could do with a revamp considering the price we paid (it wasn't value for money ). Luckily the weather was great as we were able to go out every day. Lovely walks with our dogs but they got covered in ticks.

Excellent walks direct from the door. Very peaceful location but easy walk to local pub which provides good value meals. Spacious but cosy cottage. Essentials such as bread etc left for us on our arrival a lovely touch.We will hopefully return next year.

A really lovely cottage and communication with the owner was enough without being overbearing. The location was good and had easy walks to the local village pub (always important). I think the only thing that could possibly be improved (if possible due to the age of the building) is the shower but completely understand why it may not be possible.

Surprised to find there was no tea/coffee/milk supplied for an initial cuppa but then that may be due to covid rules. A problem with the water supply was quickly resolved. Otherwise the property suited our requirements well

A really lovely cottage and communication with the owner was enough without being overbearing. The location was good and had easy walks to the local village pub (always important). I think the only thing that could possibly be improved (if possible due to the age of the building) is the shower but completely understand why it may not be possible.

The location is fantastic if you like walking and enjoy a quiet rural retreat. It suited us and our 2dogs perfectly. It is well equipped and comfortable , rather than smart. The WiFi is the best we have experienced in a rural holiday cottage. We enjoyed the stroll down to Porlock Weir and had good meals in the various cafe/pub/ restaurant.

Wir hatten einen erholsamen Aufenthalt in Worthy Cottage. Besonders gut gefiel uns die ruhige Lage. Wir konnten direkt vom Haus aus auf den Coast Path wandern und mit dem Bus nach Porlock zurück fahren. Auch die Nähe zum Exmoor hat uns gut gefallen. Sowohl Porlock Weir als auch Porlock sind nette Küstenorte. Wir würden gerne wiederkommen.

What a lovely property. Tucked away off a very quiet lane. Comfy, cosy. Small private garden, woodland to rear and the sound of the waves to the front. Everything you need ( a radio would be nice) . Minutes away either walking down the hill or driving to Porlock Weir. Feeling rejuvinated.

We had a good stay. Good location, right on the Southwest Coast Path for walking. Pub and restaurants within a few minutes walk down to the very picturesque Porlock Weir. Minehead is 20 minuters away, with large supermarkets. The house is an old cottage, so be prepared for a bit of draught, a few spiders and a low pressure in the shower. But there is plenty of hot water, a laundry machine, sufficiently equipped kitchen and a parking space right outside the front door. Not suitable if you have allergies (dogs are allowed, upstairs is carpeted).

We particularly loved all the coastal walks that could done from the doorstep with our dog, one in particular right on the doorstep is the walk through the woods to Culbone Church, well worth the effort takes about an hour each way. we also like birdwatching so visited some of the nature reserves, one in particular we have been to before at Steart, which is near Burnham, a bit difficult to find as sign posting not very good, but well worth the effort. Local pub/restaurant only 10/15 minute walk from cottage, though there were some really nice ones in Porlock town. Recommend a torch if walking to local pub in the evening. Cottage not as clean as it could have been.\r Everyone very friendly and helpful.

We had a great stay the cottage was very clean and had everything that you would need, the location suited us very quiet with some nice walks our two dogs loved it. Weirfest was on so we spent a couple of evenings down there listening to some bands and sampling the local ale. Great meal at the Bottom Ship which is a short walk away and the hotel next door does a good pizza. Overall a great cottage if you want peace and quiet we will be staying again.

Very quiet location, great for walking with some good walks from the door step, the local pub is a 10 minute walk and is dog friendly and serves up some good quality food at good prices. the pint of milk and packet of biscuits was nice touch.

Bed linen and towels were super clean and fresh. Tea,coffee, biscuits, milk provided. Good base to explore the local area. Excellent meal at the 'top' Ship Inn, advise booking, it gets very busy.

The pubs and the locals in Porlock Weir were fantastic, very accommodating with our dogs and the food was amazing, we really liked the "Bottom" Ship Inn and had a fantastic Christmas lunch at the "Top" Ship Inn, neither pub could be faulted. The cottage is in a great location for many, many walks, such a beautiful area.
