Talisman Lodge - Outdoor Hot Tub, Fireplaces, Dog Friendly close 2 Trails

This home was perfect for our big family coming into town for a wedding. Loved the hot tub, firepit, screened in porch! My only complaint was a few things that were obviously not cleaned, or overlooked...maybe due to quick turnover?

House was very comfortable and laid out nicely. We had four couples and we all had plenty of room with our own bedroom and bathroom. Felt like we were at home. Roads are very intertwined in this area so have your navigation handy and working, but you get on to the roads fairly easy. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back to this house. The only thing we noticed was one ceiling fan didn't work and the hot tub cover strap was broken and taped. Otherwise a great time and skiing was awesome!! Thank you to the owners and the management team who made this process very easy. Even took our two small Boston Terriers and they had a ball. Thanks again and book this house!!! :)

This property was perfect for our family and friends getaway. Beautiful, nestled in nature, close to town. Property owner and manager thought of everything! A few things: -towels provided -plenty of extra blankets/pillows -all kitchen tools provided (pots/pans/baking dishes, etc) -firewood provided for fireplace and outdoor fire pit (however, bring kindling/cardboard/paper bag/firestarters) -2 fireplaces, one gas, one wood-burning -hot tub is glorious -paper towels, toilet paper, sponge, and dishsoap provided -game room has small pool table, board games, cornole, and more

House was exactly what we needed within our budget. The hot tub and pool table were great amenities! Would definitely stay again. Master bedroom was amazing!

It was good but some left over things to clean from prev guest

The house was perfect and spacious for our family and fur babies. It had everything we needed and then some. We did experience wifi issues on and off after resetting the modem so it was too hard to watch any movies otherwise everything else was great and the house was very clean which was very much appreciated.

We had a wonderful stay at Talisman. The house had so much room and we loved how every bedroom had a bathroom. Our two little ones loved everything about this home from the fire pit to the screened in porch, even the hot tub. The location was great and the home was perfect. Con: the cleaning service could have done a better job. There was food still from previous renters left on the table and a few other things that weren’t paid attention to that should have been.

The house was really nice! Perfect size with great layout. House was clean and well maintained. I took one star off due to issues with payments. We added dogs and golf after the original agreement was signed. Unfortunately not once but twice we were charged more then we were supposed to pay. First time 270 ( apparently system pulled new rates compared to out original agreement) second time we were charged twice 400 for golf passes. The money was returned to us but this shouldn’t have happened. If I didn’t double check the charges we could’ve easily overpay. Other then that our stay was great and we really enjoyed the house and Galena Territory.

Reviewer Comments: Been to Galena for 15 years did not like they told me I could not use the pool until 4pm. We always were able to pick up passes and enjoy the pool before 4pm as I had my grandchildren wanting the pool. The house was not clean. The floor in kichen was dirty. There was dust on the tables. The Mr Coffee took 1 hour to brew a pot of coffee. The downstairs bedrooms were cold and my grandchildren had to sleep with 3 blanks but the upstairs was fine so if we put the heat on the upstairs was hot. There were gnats in the downstairs bathroom. I had never had any of these issues in other Galena houses.

The house was great. The amenities were great. We had 6 adults and a baby. The linens and towels left much to be desired. They should be upgraded. The home was obviously pet friendly because I found a lot of dog hair around the house. So it was not cleaned well. There was also issues with the Freezer leaking water. When I contacted the rental management about the sheets being so worn out and pilled it felt like sandpaper , they did have better sheets dropped off for the master bed.

This house has a nice open plan. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware, and any utensil you could need. Our family had a great visit.

This property was amazing, perfect for our family to enjoy and have space and privacy. We were 3 couples with one family of 5, and the layout was perfect for us. Being Momma and the one who booked, My partner and I got the top floor when the king and jacuzzi tub bathroom, private and perfect. Main floor bedroom for my daughter and her husband. Lower level was exactly right for son and his family. They had a bedroom of their own, and the 2 young ones had their own twin beds. Baby girl with Mom and Dad. The common areas were spacious and everything you need, kitchen had tons of dishes, pans, etc. Just bring food, spices, containers if you have leftovers. We got to enjoy the fireplaces, pool table and went swimming at the owner's club one day. Instead of being outside for the firepit as it was cold, we had lovely fires in the woodburning fireplace in the front room. Didn't get to enjoy the hot tub,sadly, but hard to do all you want sometimes with a 3 and 6 yr old who loves to play with you. Next time, as we all loved the property so much, we want to come back. Linda was very responsive when I requested an early arrival to get the party started! We highly recommend this place for family fun with a group like ours or several couples. It's beautiful, clean, and everything you need!! Loved the Talisman Lidge!!

This is the second time we stayed at this property. I highly recommend this house for a large family stay. It's dog friendly. The owners provide lots of extra fun stuff. We did have to call the owners while we were there with a minor issue.. One phone call and somebody came out to fix the problem within hours..Excellent weekend stay.

The property was great! If we could’ve stayed longer we would have! Everything was in pretty great shape and the management was very responsive and accommodating! The only thing I would change is the couch in the lower game room. It’s not terrible, but it’s been well loved in the house and is probably due for an upgrade in the near future. There is a 100% chance that we would book again!

Nice place in a peaceful setting north of Galena- nice trails just outside the door for hiking. Location was a little farther from downtown Galena that we anticipated but that is a very minor thing. Good comfortable house with plenty to do. Note: Dog-friendly for sure but bring some gates if you want to keep them on a certain floor of the house!
