It is a beautiful place to stay, very clean, the only thing is that in pictures appear to be bigger, other that that it’s perfect

We had several issues with this property. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was an overwhelming dog smell and the vinyl on the stairs peeling up becoming a tripping hazard. Additionally, every dish that we pulled from the cabinets were covered in old dried food and had to be washed before use. The sink in the only bathroom had a broken stopper that was closed when we arrived so it was unusable until we got under the sink and figured out how to open it. The hot tub was dirty and the backyard was covered in trash from a previous visit. The beds had random hair in the sheets and smelled heavily of dog when we lifted the covers. I messaged the host on our first day about many of these issues and never heard from them.

Sofa was horrible, old and could feel the springs, unable to sit on. Wood steps from deck, falling apart, steps would move when you stepped on them. Bed in bottom bedroom squeaked when you got in bed and moved on bed. Toilet seat loose.

Overall our stay was ok. The check-in process was clear and easy. The location was convenient. We were able to walk to downtown Big Bear (30 minutes walk) and we could walk to the Pine Knot hiking trail (15 minutes walk). We did experience a few issues with the home. There was a noticeable ant problem in the bathroom, which made it so we couldn't leave our toiletries in the bathroom. They had put out an ant trap, but they did not disclose this issue to us ahead of time. We would have appreciated communication about this. The couch was broken and uncomfortable. You could feel the springs through the seat cushions and made it so we couldn't relax on the couch while watching TV. The oven was broken. When we set the temperature, we heard the igniter try to start, but it didn't ignite and we could smell gas. We made due with the stove and the grill, but it was very inconvenient to have to change our cooking plans unexpectedly. The hot tub was also broken. The temperature read as 104 degrees, but the water was not hot. After having the hot tub repairman come to look at it, the issue was still not fixed. So we were unable to enjoy the hot tub during our stay.We let the host know of these issues as they came up. At first they took over a day to reply, but then was very responsive after that. We are happy to say that they offered a partial refund for all these issues and we appreciate their attention on this. Hopefully they will fix these things for future stays.
