Gym was very basic and small - but you could pay extra for a much better one! Really expect a decent gym in a 5 star hotel. Lots of things (e.g. coffee pods) are charged as extras - again not necessarily what you expect paying 5 star prices.

The hotel is good, especially for a family holiday. The staff are friendly, the service is quite reasonable, the food is good, and there is a very pleasant outdoor area with a great pool and direct access to the beach. However, it is not worthy of a 5-star rating. There are several shortcomings, such as old bath towels, stained beach towels, sand in the room even after cleaning, a tiny gym (and access to the larger gym requires an additional fee), no body lotion provided, water bottles are not replenished, and coffee capsules are charged separately. I recommend the hotel, but don’t expect exceptional service.

Hotel is clean and has a 5 star feel, but honestly misses a huge opportunity for 5 star service. Couple of examples: Gym - you have to have a gym to be 5 star, they advertise one, but in truth the gym is an additional €10 per day. They do have a room to use for free, but all equipment is broken and u safe, but as you are changed and in the mood, you’ll pay the €10 to use the larger facility. Bars/resturants - markets a wonderful sunset bar and restaurant, however, it’s was privately hired out for weddings four of the 8 nights we stayed. Your left with the hotel bar, that is in the lobby and no atmosphere. Overall this is a clean and new hotel, but 4 star at best.

The hotel is in a very quiet location and if you want to leave the resort you will need a taxi or a car. There are no local restaurants or shops to walk to. There is a small supermarket about 10 minutes walk away which serves good coffee, very cheaply. We had half board and the buffet breakfast is good. The buffet evening meal has a wide range of foods but can feel a bit samey from day to day. 2 nights they had weddings and we were disturbed until about 1am. They offered to move us but we didn’t want the upheaval when we only had 3 days left of the holiday. Also on one day the housekeeping missed our room and we had to request a clean which they did but not until about 8pm Coffee making is available in the room but you need to purchase the coffee pods. They have 2 gyms. One is very well equipped but you need to pay for and is open 10-7. The other is very small, old equipment, no water but open 24hrs

We travelled with our 7 month old for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the area. Staff were warm, welcoming and super helpful with every interaction (esp Neuza and the other dining room staff). The room was ample in size with a very nice cosy but quiet feel which was great. The hotel grounds are lovely, especially when you wander outback past the pools and take a walk down to the beach along the boardwalk. The beach itself was just ideal, quiet, beautiful clean sand and clear water. The hotel also provides towels by the pool for you to use. The access to the beach is also very well considered as only hotel guests with a key card can exit through some gates to reach the beach. For a young family, this made a lot of sense. In terms of facilities, there's a nice small gym 24/7 free for use and for the more avid gym goers and more substantial gym with powerlifting equipment etc for 10 euros a day. The spa itself was really nice and is only 20 euros for 3 hours which I clufes access to a private pool, sauna, steam room, ice bucket and jacuzzi. This is free for anyone who books a massage too. Outside of this, there is a separate indoor heated pool which is free for all guests to use and very well sized. The breakfast buffet was great for us as vegetarians and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Dinner was also good however ony a few nights, perhaps a more substantial vegetarian main dish would have been great. Aside from this, we enjoyed our meals in the hotel.

Stayed here in August with my husband and 6 year old for 12 nights. The rooms are modern, clean and beds very comfortable. The pool was the highlight, it's huge, with 2 smaller kids pools. Plenty of sun loungers and nice fresh towels every day - so no need to bring any. The breakfast was fantastic! We paid for the buffet one evening which was very expensive and I wasn't impressed with the food at all. The Italian restaurant was nice but overpriced. The hotel is located next to the beach which is great but we discovered all of the sun loungers had reserved signs on them so we couldn't stay long with no shade. There really isn't much around the hotel at all, we ended up paying quite a bit to go into albuferia in the evenings. Overall we loved the hotel itself but wouldn't go back due to the location and very overpriced food and drinks.

Got our room keys, and hired two towels (fee was repaid upon check-out) and the room was spacious, well lit and all appliances worked too! The shower was spacious, and the mirror was well lit. Very comfy bed, and a spare pillow was in the room if needed also. Balcony gave great views onto the golf course next door, with little to no road noise, and even through the massive windows, the sun was well blocked out by the blackout curtains. Breakfast was a very good selection, from full English to meats and cheeses and eggs cooked to your own preference. Didn't try out the buffet evening meal, so can't comment on that. Swimming pool was well attended at all times by life guards, and there were plenty of sun loungers, bean bags and parasols for everyone to have their own space. Staff were always pleasant, and our room was clean. Would come back again, for sure!

Hotel muito bonito, muito grande. Staff muito simpático. Na generalidade estava frio para a época do ano, era necessário andar de casaco no interior. Algumas toalhas não demostravam muita higiene. Refeições (pequeno almoço e jantar) com pouca oferta (variedade) para o local e o nível do hotel. Na zona de alimentação não se percebia que estávamos num hotel 5 estrelas.

Hotel is amazing....extremely clean and with very spacious rooms...and in a lovely location. The walkway to beach is beautiful. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and work tirelessly. Our twin boys loved it here and we cannot wait to retun. Thankyou

El entorno es muy bonito ,el resorte no merece cinco estrellas ni de lejo ,comida regular las instalaciones mal mantenidas limpieza mala por falta de personal ,he tenido que llamar más de 20 veces al servicio de habitación para una botella de agua y tardaron más de una hora para traérmela ,SPA la sauna no tiene alarma tampoco el baño turco no cumplen con las medidas de seguridad ni higienes al igual que la piscina cubierta ,sensación de instalaciones mal mantenida ,el personal amable

The fact that it was close to the beach was great. The food at the buffet was really good. My overall comments are great except for the fact that the cleaning of the room was not great: I put the card asking to change the bed and they did not do it. Twice they forgot to clean the sink, there was still toothpaste. And the 2 glasses they leave in the room were never cleaned. But overall, I would recommend this hotel big time.

We recently stayed in VidaMar Algarve and it was exceptional. The hotel is top quality in every way. The pool area was 10/10. It was so beautiful, clean and comfortable and never too busy. The adult only area is absolutely stunning and so relaxing. The bedrooms are top class. The layout of the shower and bathroom are very well designed and really modern. When you arrive back from a day in the sun the feeling of a gorgeous air conditioned, spotless clean fresh room is just perfect. The cleaners always set the temperature just right for you. The food at breakfast was out of this world and such a variety. We visited the Primadonna restaurant at the hotel and it was absolutely delicious. The most beautiful beach lies just outside the hotel with a very short walk 2-3 mins along a gorgeous bridge all while looking directly at the sandy Salgados beach. The location of the hotel is just perfect and the surroundings of the other hotels and golf resort is just beautiful to be surrounded by. If you want to travel to Albufeira it is only €7/10 in a Uber. The way the hotel is set it’s just perfect. The staff treat everyone so well in all areas of the resort. We met an incredible guy who works at the VidaMar called Zain. If you stay here make sure to keep an eye out for him he made our stay he treated us with so much kindness and was so helpful. We also met a lovely girl called Sonia from India she was so beautiful and kind. We will definitely be returning to VidaMar it was incredible

Zimmer okay leider nur sehr Laut und die Klimaanlage ging kaum. Auf Nachfrage hat man uns aufgrund der sehr mäßigen Englisch Kenntnisse leider an der Rezeption nicht verstanden. Nice place , sadly no where do go in the evening as the only place they keep open is the reception bar , which has no personality at all . Rooms are nice and well equipped, they have a adults only pool and area but charge a Wopping €25 a day extra personally just a rip off

Stayed here in August with my husband and 6 year old for 12 nights. The rooms are modern, clean and beds very comfortable. The pool was the highlight, it's huge, with 2 smaller kids pools. Plenty of sun loungers and nice fresh towels every day - so no need to bring any. The breakfast was fantastic! We paid for the buffet one evening which was very expensive and I wasn't impressed with the food at all. The Italian restaurant was nice but overpriced. The hotel is located next to the beach which is great but we discovered all of the sun loungers had reserved signs on them so we couldn't stay long with no shade. There really isn't much around the hotel at all, we ended up paying quite a bit to go into albuferia in the evenings. Overall we loved the hotel itself but wouldn't go back due to the location and very overpriced food and drinks.

Had a fantastic stay at Vidamar Resort Algarve, a really easy and quick check in. Got our room keys, and hired two towels (fee was repaid upon check-out) and the room was spacious, well lit and all appliances worked too! The shower was spacious, and the mirror was well lit. Very comfy bed, and a spare pillow was in the room if needed also. Balcony gave great views onto the golf course next door, with little to no road noise, and even through the massive windows, the sun was well blocked out by the blackout curtains. Breakfast was a very good selection, from full English to meats and cheeses and eggs cooked to your own preference. Didn't try out the buffet evening meal, so can't comment on that. Swimming pool was well attended at all times by life guards, and there were plenty of sun loungers, bean bags and parasols for everyone to have their own space. Staff were always pleasant, and our room was clean. Would come back again, for sure!

We have met some fantastic professional staff ....and some cocky young lads that had smart comments to everything. The breakfast was fantastic however the coffee was below average and the pods for the coffee machine in the room were not filled up once over our one week stay. Overall a very pleasant stay.

I didn’t like the hotel employees they weren’t that friendly and the breakfast also wasn’t good to b 5* didn’t have much food variety. Too bad! I regret expending all that money there, plus the Italian restaurant they were so rude with us, because the food i asked for spaghetti carbonara was too salty ! Honestly the worst hotel experience I have had in my entire life !!!

If Ryanair Did 5 Star Hotels! That's probably a little unfair to the Ryanair of today though,as they seem to be behaving a lot better nowadays. I'm referring to the Ryanair of yesteryear where they fleeced you with fine print and the the staff had this 'take it or leave it' attitude. My daughter had an emergency appendectomy on holiday. she was really struggling to walk. the hotel kindly loaned her a wheelchair to use. hours later there was a billing query which admittedly was my fault, but I rectified it and that was the end of the story on my part. it seemed like seconds later they where at my room to take the wheelchair back with smug suggestions on where one could be rented for our stay. silly story i suppose, but indicative of the the kind of spiteful, vindictive atmosphere cultivated in this place. there are better places and far cheaper. a real pity as the the location is awesome

The hotel is in a very quiet location and if you want to leave the resort you will need a taxi or a car. There are no local restaurants or shops to walk to. There is a small supermarket about 10 minutes walk away which serves good coffee, very cheaply. We had half board and the buffet breakfast is good. The buffet evening meal has a wide range of foods but can feel a bit samey from day to day. 2 nights they had weddings and we were disturbed until about 1am. They offered to move us but we didn’t want the upheaval when we only had 3 days left of the holiday. Also on one day the housekeeping missed our room and we had to request a clean which they did but not until about 8pm Coffee making is available in the room but you need to purchase the coffee pods. They have 2 gyms. One is very well equipped but you need to pay for and is open 10-7. The other is very small, old equipment, no water but open 24hrs

We travelled with our 7 month old for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the area. Staff were warm, welcoming and super helpful with every interaction (esp Neuza and the other dining room staff). The room was ample in size with a very nice cosy but quiet feel which was great. The hotel grounds are lovely, especially when you wander outback past the pools and take a walk down to the beach along the boardwalk. The beach itself was just ideal, quiet, beautiful clean sand and clear water. The hotel also provides towels by the pool for you to use. The access to the beach is also very well considered as only hotel guests with a key card can exit through some gates to reach the beach. For a young family, this made a lot of sense. In terms of facilities, there's a nice small gym 24/7 free for use and for the more avid gym goers and more substantial gym with powerlifting equipment etc for 10 euros a day. The spa itself was really nice and is only 20 euros for 3 hours which I clufes access to a private pool, sauna, steam room, ice bucket and jacuzzi. This is free for anyone who books a massage too. Outside of this, there is a separate indoor heated pool which is free for all guests to use and very well sized. The breakfast buffet was great for us as vegetarians and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Dinner was also good however ony a few nights, perhaps a more substantial vegetarian main dish would have been great. Aside from this, we enjoyed our meals in the hotel.

absolutamente excelente. REstaurante Primadonna - excelente qualidade quer nas pizzas quer nas pastas. Atendimento perfeito. Restaurante junto à piscina, extraordinario, ao ar livre, pratos de peixe e disfrutar da vista piscina e jardim. Pequeno almoço muito variado. Limpeza excelente.

The all inclusive food was absolutely awful. The hot food was mostly cold. Most of the main courses were so tough or overdone that they could not be chewed. Only the salads, fruits and desserts were edible.

The hotel is in a very quiet location and if you want to leave the resort you will need a taxi or a car. There are no local restaurants or shops to walk to. There is a small supermarket about 10 minutes walk away which serves good coffee, very cheaply. We had half board and the buffet breakfast is good. The buffet evening meal has a wide range of foods but can feel a bit samey from day to day. 2 nights they had weddings and we were disturbed until about 1am. They offered to move us but we didn’t want the upheaval when we only had 3 days left of the holiday. Also on one day the housekeeping missed our room and we had to request a clean which they did but not until about 8pm Coffee making is available in the room but you need to purchase the coffee pods. They have 2 gyms. One is very well equipped but you need to pay for and is open 10-7. The other is very small, old equipment, no water but open 24hrs

Hotel é muito bom, excelente estrutura. O que deixa a desejar é o jantar...é muito ruim, seja de qualidade ou de variedade no buffet. Stayed here in August with my husband and 6 year old for 12 nights. The rooms are modern, clean and beds very comfortable. The pool was the highlight, it's huge, with 2 smaller kids pools. Plenty of sun loungers and nice fresh towels every day - so no need to bring any. The breakfast was fantastic! We paid for the buffet one evening which was very expensive and I wasn't impressed with the food at all. The Italian restaurant was nice but overpriced. The hotel is located next to the beach which is great but we discovered all of the sun loungers had reserved signs on them so we couldn't stay long with no shade. There really isn't much around the hotel at all, we ended up paying quite a bit to go into albuferia in the evenings. Overall we loved the hotel itself but wouldn't go back due to the location and very overpriced food and drinks.

The hotel is good, especially for a family holiday. The staff are friendly, the service is quite reasonable, the food is good, and there is a very pleasant outdoor area with a great pool and direct access to the beach. However, it is not worthy of a 5-star rating. There are several shortcomings, such as old bath towels, stained beach towels, sand in the room even after cleaning, a tiny gym (and access to the larger gym requires an additional fee), no body lotion provided, water bottles are not replenished, and coffee capsules are charged separately.
