Just the opposite-tiny space with no grounds, no parking, just a couple of picnic tables outside. Very little contact moving in. No offered help in figuring out where and how to park, no offered help in lugging luggage up narrow stairs to the third floor. Lovely community run pub with loads of local history and great location in heart of the village. Friendly and helpful staff offered great service. Most amazing stay at this Community Owned pub and and inn. The room was lovely and we enjoyed our evening in the pub with the locals, learning the history of the area. Food was fantastic, fire was cozy and it was fun watching the football match with them. Charming and wonderful. thank you!

Well signposted and so very easy to find! Very friendly welcome, comfortable, cosy bar and pretty decent food. Our room was large with a huge bed and the only negative was the condensation on the inside of the windows.

Very nice old inn. Lots of history and I love these smaller B&Bs. This was very spacious, clean and quiet. Food was good. Check-in was confusing. No front desk, went to the bar and found some help. I thought I reserved 2 twin beds but got a king sized bed instead. So my mom and I had to share a bed, again, for the night. Reserving these is very confusing on Expedia and may be worth calling the place itself first or sending a message that you want the king bed separated.

Stopped off at the Black Bull on the way up to the Aberdeen ferry to Shetland. The hotel staff were most welcoming, our room was larger than expected and it felt very clean. Had a nice tasty bar meal - was nearly over faced by the huge size of my haddock but bravely managed it! Very quiet night’s sleep.

My goal was to find unique accommodations on our recent roadtrip through Scottish Highlands. Black Bull Inn did not disappoint. Our room was newly renovated and had so much charm. Great bathroom with large shower. The staff were welcoming and addressed our issues very promptly. I loved the breakfast options and the meal was ready for the time we requested. The one glitch was we had arrived 1 minute after the kitchen closed which was disappointing as no other restaurants were open in the area. Keep that in mind.

The old inn was reborn as a community-driven hotel. You’ll meet volunteers and wonderful and kind staff. Breakfast is ordered the day before - choose a time and just show up. Restaurant was perfect for dinner - tasty and wholesome dishes at low prices. The bar also sells cocktails, wine and beer at very low prices. We stayed in one of two rooms on the top floor. Comfortable and very clean. But with just one very small window that opens there’s no way to really get air through the room. After a bath or a warm day it gets very damp. Maybe the sky window could be replaced with one that opens?

Very much enjoyed the dinner, absolutely delicious, as well as our breakfast. Our waitress even gave us suggestions for places to visit off the beaten path. We went to The Devil’s Pulpit and Lennox Castle - both unusual and happy for the recommendation. This has been one of our favorite places to stay on our 2 week Scotland trip.

A hidden gem! What an awesome place in a quiet super friendly town in a beautiful area of Scotland. We only stayed one night and regret not having time to stay a couple more nights. We spent 10 days touring Scotland, the staff at Black Bull were by far the most pleasant and accommodating. Chatting with local town folks in the pub was a memorable experience. So I loved the concept of this Inn and Pub. The village folks own and volunteer there! They recently remodeled and our room was lovely. We had a wonderful breakfast prepared by volunteer Edith as the chef was taking a small vacation. This is a good location to explore the Trossachs.

Room with queen so tiny a suitcase could not be opened, even on the floor. Barely room to walk around the bed itself. Bath tiny, but adequate with shower. Food good on site. The Black Bull was built as an inn in 1740. Gartmore is a quaint village with nearby walking paths. There are no shops or other things, but it is beautiful for it's countryside views and a nearby path. Also, the food is outstanding at the Black Bull. The menu is small but the chef makes it all count with each plate masterfully executed. I had a traditional chicken recipe stuffed with haggis and it was so tender and flavorful. I had to personally go thank the chef; it was just that tasty.

Beautiful quiet area, community run inn with buckets of charm and hospitality - we were made to feel very welcome. The room was refurbished to a high standard and was clean and very comfortable. No food is served on a Monday or Tuesday but we were given lots of local options and had a lovely meal at the faerie tree. Would highly recommend to all!

Beautifully updated property near Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was large with a king size bed, a lovely view from the window, large bathroom room with a large enclosed shower. Nice soap and shampoo. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant.

A hidden gem! What an awesome place in a quiet super friendly town in a beautiful area of Scotland. We only stayed one night and regret not having time to stay a couple more nights. We spent 10 days touring Scotland, the staff at Black Bull were by far the most pleasant and accommodating. Chatting with local town folks in the pub was a memorable experience. Can’t say enough good things about the experience. Highly recommend fitting a night at the Black Bull Gartmore into your vacation schedule. Steve - Canada

Well signposted and so very easy to find! Very friendly welcome, comfortable, cosy bar and pretty decent food. Our room was large with a huge bed and the only negative was the condensation on the inside of the windows.

The old inn was reborn as a community-driven hotel. You’ll meet volunteers and wonderful and kind staff. Breakfast is ordered the day before - choose a time and just show up. Restaurant was perfect for dinner - tasty and wholesome dishes at low prices. The bar also sells cocktails, wine and beer at very low prices. We stayed in one of two rooms on the top floor. Comfortable and very clean. But with just one very small window that opens there’s no way to really get air through the room. After a bath or a warm day it gets very damp. Maybe the sky window could be replaced with one that opens?

My goal was to find unique accommodations on our recent roadtrip through Scottish Highlands. Black Bull Inn did not disappoint. Our room was newly renovated and had so much charm. Great bathroom with large shower. The staff were welcoming and addressed our issues very promptly. I loved the breakfast options and the meal was ready for the time we requested. The one glitch was we had arrived 1 minute after the kitchen closed which was disappointing as no other restaurants were open in the area. Keep that in mind.
