The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly. The hotel is situated right on the river valley close to restaurants and trails. My only complaint is that parking was confusing. I ended up getting a parking ticket which the hotel did look after however, both evenings I stayed I had trouble with the parking. At a cost of $20/ night I feel that the parking should be convenient.

Beds are comfortable rooms are small they look a lot bigger in the pictures. Felt like I was in a fish tank And there is no drawers to put any of your stuff. The Parkade underneath is $20 a day, but you can’t even open your car doors without banging another person’s car it’s so confined. With the limited parking space in the general area, they shouldn’t be a charging extra $20 a day for guests. There was no instructions for the complementary breakfast I seen one person with breakfast outside of their room. When it comes to checking in or out the elevators are in use by housekeeping so you have quite the wait when you’re trying to check out. I’ve stayed at finer establishments for less I will not be back and will not recommend. The staff are great but the location is not safe to go for a eav walk I was informed by locals of activity in the area NOT warned by staff and I feel that if it’s an unsafe neighbourhood that they should be mentioning that to travellers. Also, if you’re booking a place it would be nice if you knew ahead of time that they were doing window cleaning throughout the day. Nothing like planning a little rendezvous with your husband who’s working in the general area and then being told there’s gonna be men outside of the room on the other side of the window.

We loved the hotel and our stay was great but parking was incredibly expensive and really inconvenient and confusing. The underground parking was very limited and quite treacherous to drive and filled up fast. It made leaving and returning to the hotel a huge hassle.

An alarm went off for 39 minutes the first night. The housekeeping did not clean room even when requested. Check in and checkout were rude. Would not stay here again

Located on the bank of the South Saskatchewan River at River Landing, the Alt Hotel is beautifully situated opposite the Remai Modern Art Museum and a short walk to downtown and Broadway Avenue on the other side of the river. My room on the 8th floor had a lovely view of the river and was very modern and well equipped. Apart from dust and lint on the window ledges, the room was otherwise very clean. Staff were friendly and professional which is always appreciated by guests.

The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The hotel and rooms and clean and well maintained. I like the convenient underground parking. The location is fantastic. If I had to mention something I didn't love it would be the lacklustre room lighting - not very bright, especially for make up application, etc. The bathroom lighting is very dim.

The best part of our trip was the worker who went above and beyond to help us. Someone else checked us in - it was a gong show and she wouldn’t listen (I booked two rooms six months ago to be side by side or on the same floor and she wouldn’t accommodate us. Lied and said « no there’s nothing else ». Only thr one worker fixed it). The parking was a waste of time and money - I drove around 45 minutes one night trying to find parking. The woman didn’t care - the other worker fixed it. I asked to be able to access my parents’ floor because we were supposed to have adjoining rooms she said it couldn’t be done you’re in separate floors. Too bad. The other worker figured it out. The other worker needs a raise and everyone else needs better training. I’ve stayed here for over 30 nights and probably won’t ever stay at the Alt again.

Front desk reception not very helpful at all. I requested a late check in and instead of a yes or no they gave me a run around saying that I booked through third party so they cannot provide late check out but then agreed to an hour late check out after all the unnecessary run around. Terrible breakfast selection.

Paid 250 a night for a room with no microwave and only a wine fridge. Parking was ridiculous. You have to pay for parking yet we couldnt find a place to park. The lighting in the room was so dim i couldnt do my makeup. We only had access to 2 key cards and if your key card isnt in the slot the power in your room turns off. Front desk staff was rude and unhelpful.

Jean at the front desk was amazing and got me an incredible room with a gorgeous view. I didn't get the name of my housekeeper unfortunately but she also went above and beyond - my room was well stocked and VERY well cleaned for just a 2 night stay. Location is incredible. I'll be back for sure

Check-in time is 3 PM. We arrived on time and were told the room was not ready and that it was still being "inspected." After parking the car, I sat with my luggage in the lobby area for another period of time before being given the OK to go to the room. The delay and inspection process took an undo amount of time. Underground parking is something the Alt needs to get sorted. There is not enough room for all the guests in the hotel underground parking area. Guests returning from an outing may be forced into overflow parking at the Nutrien Tower underground parking lot. After parking there, they can then look forward to a half block walk (or more) outside back to the hotel. Nice if the weather is good, the person isn't physically compromised, or if they are not carrying anything bulky or heavy. We were not told about the over flow arrangement at the time of check in and it was only after coming back from an evening outing and driving around in the hotel underground parking area to discover it was full, were we told about the overflow parking arrangement. Directions to the parking area were also poor. There was a map, why wasn't it used sooner! The hotel room was great, but the small details like check in wait time, parking, and good communication on the part of some front desk staff is lacking. Until these things are improved upon, the Alt hotel is secure in its 3-star rating.

The staff are helpful, the parking is very convenient, the beds are super comfortable. The only issue is the restaurant is not a restaurant. It’s a butler’s pantry. It makes breakfast expensive and limited. However, OEB is a 30 second walk to the next building and it provides excellent breakfast with many Gluten Free & lactose free options. I will always stay at this hotel for the comfort and convenience they provide. And the bar makes a good cocktail when you need one.

No actual restaurant onsite No information in the room to indicate that the continental breakfast ends at 10 o’clock And an overall lack of information and communication on the part of the hotel. I think they are trying too hard to be eco friendly. Cutting corners on things like paper notices. Staff was very good though and helpful.

We really appreciated the early check-in, hotels location, comfortable bed and river-view room. For such a nice hotel overall, the breakfast was really disappointing. The continental breakfast (toast, muffins, fruit, yogurt) was really mediocre (even by free, chain hotel standards) and poorly re-stocked. At $20/pp I would steer clear and find somewhere else to eat if you've got the time.

Nice modern rooms but small. Pillows are terrible though and no drawers for clothes. Nice having a nespresso coffee machine. Amenities not great. Bokeh doesn’t have a great menu. Close to some good restaurants and the river walk was nice.

The hotel had a beautiful location. Room was clean and modern with beautiful design touches (loved the canola scenes on the walls and the light up mirror!). Felt like a great value and we were in walking distance to the river and so many awesome bars and restaurants. The in house bar was really good too.
