Such a great little place in an awesome location! Walking distance to the ferry and main downtown area. Beautiful views of the sea from the rooftop pool! The snack bar of now open until later in the evening! Great menu for dinner and drinks with decent prices. Drinks are beautifully hand-crafted and delivered to you in the pool! We loved Jaime and Sergio - fantastic customer service! The only negative - the loud, thumping bass beat persisting until 2am on the weekend.

The rooms and service were great. They advertised food and drink, and pool, on the amenities list, that was only slightly accurate, the pool was very small, and the food and drink was a small bar by the pool that was only open until 1:00pm daily.

Room was great. AC worked & plenty of pillows. Bathroom was clean. Not the best pool for swimming, but enough to cool off. Staff was very nice & helpful with luggage.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here! The property is beautiful. The views are spectacular. We loved the rooftop infinity pool! The staff was helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the room was great. We would highly recommend it and we will be back to stay there again!

The view here is amazing and the pool itself is worth the price. Beware the pool bar and kitchen is temporarily closed- didn’t bother us but we did anticipate having a bar on site. The beds are comfy and the beach views are stunning

The hotel was beautiful and clean, great location. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was wishing there was more option for food/beverage at the hotel itself. The bar/restaurant by the pool was closed on Monday (one of the 2 days we were there) and hours very limited otherwise. Overall however, it was a great place and I would stay again.

Location, Location, Location, hotel was great, all of the staff where very nice and help full. This is a small hotel, only 28 rooms, if you want a view and coffee in your room, do not book Standard room, pay for a up grade Superior or Deluxe. Pool is small, only 4 sun chairs but we stayed two week and never had a problem with it! Two minor problems but we knew them(no glass(drinking) and washcloths) we took some of both and just left them. When we go again we will be staying at Hotel Libre.

Ideally located for all the restaurants and fun of Cozumel but still quiet. Incredible sea views (get the corner rooms!) and nice pool. The sunbeds at the pool could do with an update as they’re pretty uncomfortable but the food at the pool bar is delicious and all the staff are super friendly and helpful.

Fui en septiembre 2024 y el hotel se encontraba recientemente remodelado, por lo que está moderno, bonito y limpio. Es pequeño y con pocas habitaciones por lo que es bastante tranquilo. La ubicación privilegiada en el malecón con una súper vista desde cualquier habitación que elijas y cerca de negocios y restaurantes. Cuenta con piscina y una terraza muy agradable. En la mañana tienen desayunos en la misma zona de la piscina. También cabe mencionar que tienen un pequeño estacionamiento con espacio para 4 o 5 autos. Recomiendo ampliamente este hotel, sin duda me volvería a hospedar ahi.

Nice and in good shape. Great walking location for the square and restaurants. The pool was closed a lot and the restaurant/ bar was not dependably open and not great when it was open. No coffee maker in the room and difficult on towels and such. Super bright light on central air so room was never dark. I would stay there again very clean and safe but sparse. Water views and balconies on every room was good.

The room was very clean, the staff at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. The location was excellent and close to many restaurants, shops and taxis were just outside. We didn't get a chance to try the pool but we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again should we visit Cozumel on another occasion.

Deposit was higher than listed and higher than other places. Property was clean but floor needs to be mopped it was very dirty. Everything was nice and modern and I would possibly be back.

From now on, this hotel is my favorite. I just wish they offered breakfast. It’s a beautiful hotel with modern finishes and is extremely clean. I believe it’s a new property. The staff is absolutely exceptional: very friendly, and welcoming. The internet connection was excellent, the room was cleaned daily, and the hotel is not overpriced. The location is perfect, close to many restaurants, pharmacies, and stores. The view from my room was gorgeous; I was able to watch the sunset nearby with a beautiful ocean view. The only downside was that the restaurant was closed during the days I stayed. The receptionist mentioned that they only offer breakfast; however, there is a sign stating that the restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as room service, even though it was closed. Other than that, I had a really great experience.

What a beautiful place in the heart of Cozumel. My daughter and I stayed for a week and it was absolutely perfect. We were able to walk to everything. The place was spotless and the staff was wonderful! We will definitely be staying here again next year.

Very minimal hotel. No wash towels in room. No ice bucket available or any where to get ice. It was very clean and the team was friendly. Very minimal place. For being so new I was a little let down with the condition of the linens in the room. there were many stains on the sheets in the room. Bar area had very random hours and the pool seemed like a back a drop for girl to get in the pool and stand for hours taking selfies making other guests uncomfortable and the pool not enjoyable...

My wife and I loved our stay here. The place is beautiful immaculate. They are constantly cleaning. Our house keeper did a great job!. The hotel is in a great location. Easy walk to Restaurants and the square. place is like brand new. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on the island . We will definitely be staying here again.

Get the deluxe room for best water views. Despite the busy road out front, both balcony doors provided a great view of the water and all the boat traffic. Property was clean and stay went as planned. Just far enough from cruise ports to not feel overwhelmed w cruisers. Would stay again.

Lovely deluxe room with nice ocean view. Friendly and attentive front desk and housekeeping staff. The only negative for us was the noisy late evenings with people and cars rolling by with thumping music along the Malecon until late into the night which is by no means the fault of this lovely property.

Die Dusche ist im WC, die Lüftung unangenehm laut. Für zwei Personen nur ein Handtuch! Keine Kaffeemaschine oder auch nur Gläser. Die Klimaanlage sehr laut. Meerblick war gut, aber das Meer vor der Haustüre überhaupt nicht zum baden geeignet.

Very nice ocean view property. New construction as of 3 years ago. Rooms are spacious, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms. Rooms have a fridge and safe. Water is available for drinking. AC works well, WIFI also strong. Always had hot water which looks like it can be problem on other hotel reviews. Main Street (Melgar) is right below but they did a good job with sound proofing rooms. Would stay here again.

I really wanted to like this place well enough to return, but they are losing it in the details. The good: it is lovely well-designed property overall. Very tasteful minimal decor in the lobby, atrium, and rooms. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms with two balconies, and the view is everything— perhaps better than pictures. Our room was kept very clean overall except for problems with linens (see below). The rain shower is nice, and they have organic locally made shampoos and soap. The bad: the number one thing that soured my experience was that the room was sweltering when we arrived (past a standard check in time). All you want after a long day of travel and a hot cab ride is the peace of your room, but we couldn’t be in there at all for the first few hours. We would have given them so much money and enjoyed that convenience. The towels are rough and visibly shredded, and there were numerous spots on our sheets. We also had a night when the power went out and their generator does not power the air. This was miserable— probably just a limitation of the island, but have some fans dammit! Or offer to check us out immediately.
I really wanted to like this place well enough to return, but they are losing it in the details. The good: it is lovely well-designed property overall. Very tasteful minimal decor in the lobby, atrium, and rooms. We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms with two balconies, and the view is everything— perhaps better than pictures. Our room was kept very clean overall except for problems with linens (see below). The rain shower is nice, and they have organic locally made shampoos and soap. The bad: the number one thing that soured my experience was that the room was sweltering when we arrived (past a standard check in time). All you want after a long day of travel and a hot cab ride is the peace of your room, but we couldn’t be in there at all for the first few hours. The staff were all really nice. We loved the balcony and had a full view of the ocean. The pool was nice and room was really clean. The internet connection worked great and the A/C was very powerful! Beds were comfortable and shower was nice. All around a great stay and a great price point for what we got.

The room was very clean, the staff at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. The location was excellent and close to many restaurants, shops and taxis were just outside. We didn't get a chance to try the pool but we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again should we visit Cozumel on another occasion.

From now on, this hotel is my favorite. I just wish they offered breakfast. It’s a beautiful hotel with modern finishes and is extremely clean. I believe it’s a new property. The staff is absolutely exceptional: very friendly, and welcoming. The internet connection was excellent, the room was cleaned daily, and the hotel is not overpriced. The location is perfect, close to many restaurants, pharmacies, and stores. The view from my room was gorgeous; I was able to watch the sunset nearby with a beautiful ocean view. The only downside was that the restaurant was closed during the days I stayed. The receptionist mentioned that they only offer breakfast; however, there is a sign stating that the restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as room service, even though it was closed. What a beautiful place in the heart of Cozumel. My daughter and I stayed for a week and it was absolutely perfect. We were able to walk to everything. The place was spotless and the staff was wonderful! We will definitely be staying here again next year.

Staff is absolutely lovely. Friendly and helpful! Room is spacious and comfortable. Lots of hot water, comfy bed, and decent linens. Location is walkable to everything. Wifi is strong. Very happy with tis hotel and will be booking again.

This was our second stay at Puerto Libre. We returned because we loved our first stay. This time I booked a king room. When we opened the door to our room we were met with a very strong marijuana odor. We could not stay in the room. Because we had booked through Expedia, they would not give us either of their two available king rooms… even after contacting the manager and vouching for us about the smell. It was very disappointing. While we were polite to the staff, I cannot believe management wouldn’t give us the type room we had booked. I would not do business that way. The hotel also used to serve a very nice breakfast on the patio. That is no longer the case. However. Pancho’s Backyard is across the street and has amazing breakfast.

Such a great little place in an awesome location! Walking distance to the ferry and main downtown area. Beautiful views of the sea from the rooftop pool! The snack bar of now open until later in the evening! Great menu for dinner and drinks with decent prices. Drinks are beautifully hand-crafted and delivered to you in the pool! We loved Jaime and Sergio - fantastic customer service! The only negative - the loud, thumping bass beat persisting until 2am on the weekend.

The rooms and service were great. They advertised food and drink, and pool, on the amenities list, that was only slightly accurate, the pool was very small, and the food and drink was a small bar by the pool that was only open until 1:00pm daily.

The restaurant and pool bar are closed. We asked multiple times why and could not get any answers. So there’s no coffee, no drinks, no coffee maker in the room, nothing. It was a bit disappointing that we weren’t able to enjoy a breakfast or drink by the pool.

The view here is amazing and the pool itself is worth the price. Beware the pool bar and kitchen is temporarily closed- didn’t bother us but we did anticipate having a bar on site. The beds are comfy and the beach views are stunning

The hotel was beautiful and clean, great location. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was wishing there was more option for food/beverage at the hotel itself. The bar/restaurant by the pool was closed on Monday (one of the 2 days we were there) and hours very limited otherwise. Overall however, it was a great place and I would stay again.

Ideally located for all the restaurants and fun of Cozumel but still quiet. Incredible sea views (get the corner rooms!) and nice pool. The sunbeds at the pool could do with an update as they’re pretty uncomfortable but the food at the pool bar is delicious and all the staff are super friendly and helpful.

Everything was so well maintained. Staff if so helpful, take their suggestions on restaurant’s you will not be disappointed. This will be our go to hotel for all our stays in Cozumel from here on out.

We booked the room with the large balcony right off the malecon and the views were stunning from 2 sides. Book this room if you are able. It was amazing to wake up to these views. Hotel is very clean, staff is beyond nice, location is walkable to many great restaurants and our dive shop, parking though small was more than adequate for our needs, beds were comfy and WiFi and AC worked well. Only downside to the room was the street noise on Saturday was pretty loud, but my husband didn’t even notice it with his air pods on after a few beers. We would without a doubt stay here again and again.

Clean large room, and nice ocean facing balcony. Pool is small but enjoyable. We were the only guest when we attended. The pool also boasts a bar with a small menu reasonable price and good. Highly recommend especially when escaping from the Sargassum beaches of Playa.
