Le Petit Pali at Ocean Ave

This is an overly convenient part of town and the rooms are super cute. Really charming. Make sure you ask for the hotel on Ocean because there are two and the other one doesn’t have parking.

Gorgeous interior design! Loved the complimentary sparkling wine we arrived and the breakfast pastries were divine. We ended up having breakfast there every day! The free rental bicycles were really cute and we had a great morning biking on the scenic route. would stay again!

We found Le Petit Pali to be very comfortable. That said, we booked through hotels.com and got a fairly reasonable rate for the area (with which we're familiar). I've noticed that some of the reviews cite prices almost double what we paid, and to be totally honest, this would be a different review if that had been our price point. The positives: A comfortable bed, an abundant honor bar, good water pressure and a rain-style shower. A lot of thought has gone into the detailed French country-themed decor. This is a great location, downtown Carmel and the beach are within walking distance. Complimentary wine at check-in and evening cookies. We didn't attend the continental breakfast or evening drinks. Complimentary bottled water, and oat milk for coffee were nice touches. We used the Bluetooth speaker without issue. There was a great wall-mounted gas fireplace that threw lots of heat. Negatives: The room seemed dim until we optimized the lighting. Swing-arm reading lamps were cute but fiddly and out of reach once in bed. There is no folding luggage rack. It can be noisy because the closest intersection leads uphill out of town, so vehicles accelerate. There is no tea kettle and trying to heat water in the Nespresso resulted in tea water with coffee grounds (yech). The property doesn't have an ice machine. The bathroom has a sliding barn-style door, which doesn't seal completely, so not a lot of privacy (there is a very quiet fan). This was our biggest complaint, to be honest.

Le Petit Pali on Ocean Ave offers a charming experience from the moment you arrive, with a complimentary sparkling drink to welcome guests and beautiful teacups provided in each room for enjoying morning or afternoon tea. Our stay on the 4th of July was made even more special by the patriotic symphony performance in the neighboring park across the street, which provided a delightful soundtrack for hours. The location is wonderfully convenient, with a small market within walking distance. The hotel thoughtfully provides reusable bags for guests to carry groceries to and from their rooms, which is both practical and environmentally conscious.

Property and service was excellent. Was not aware of $44 amenity charge until we checked out. Only amenities were free parking and breakfast.

Staff was courteous and helpful. The amenities are great and the hotel is very dog friendly. Due to the location of the hotel, there is road noise so use the earplugs provided by the hotel if needed. Also most of the parking spaces are on the smaller side so a big car is not recommended.

The bar was well stocked and breakfast had good options.

This place is so cute! I love everything about this place. The excellent service, the cleanliness, the location. They even deliver cookies to your room during the evening! Let’s not forget about the champagne breakfast display. Top notch! I’m definitely coming back here. We plan on arranging our wedding guests to stay here later this year.

This motel is perfect! Great location at the top of Ocean Avenue. Rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully designed with touches like an in-room nespresso machine and pretty china; embroidered linens, high quality amenities. The breakfast is “free”, though when I asked I learned that it’s covered by the “resort fee” and high quality. They even deliver warm cookies in the afternoon. AND the price is remarkably reasonable! I highly recommend it, and we will be back.

We loved the place, the location, and 24 hours open lobby, serving breakfast and 24 hours fruit basket available, could have been asked for more.

We love this cute little 34 room hotel. It is only about a year old so they are still working out a few kinks as per some of the previous reviews but all the reviews about bad water pressure at least an hour room was fixed. It’s the best water pressure we’ve ever had. I’ve been all over the world. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hospitality was top-notch. The small, cute little continental breakfast and service was nice. And we want to give a shout out to several people that made our stay especially great Thank you Orlando for going above and beyond in letting us check in early due to our circumstances. Thank you Leslie for the wonderful breakfast service. Thank you Jess for helping us with any needs we had. Thank you Daverle for the great recommendations around town!! We stayed in room 34. It was on the end next to the road, but we sleep with the sound machine so no big deal but if you’re a soft sleeper, I think the best room would probably be room 29 or 30 on the top floor. We gave this cute little hotel an 8.5 out of 10. We definitely recommend it

Excellent clean hotel

When I arrived and checked in I was told the room was ready and given a key. When I got up there there was someone still cleaning it and she said it wasn’t ready but she would check. She came back and said it was ready. It seemed fine and clean but when I went ti shower I noticed that the shampoo and body wash were out. I didn’t bring any because I saw it was provided. Later that night we noticed that there wasn’t any extra toilet paper. These things are more of inconveniences than anything but still, when you pay that kind of money for a one night stay you shouldn’t have to call the front desk multiple times

I travel with family,we like everything,very clean,staff very nice,kind,rooms are very cozy ,maybe for continental breakfast they could add more variety,but over all we had a wonderful time .Rafi was very nice as well as may and ? The 2 ladies helping with breakfast.we are definitely recommend this hotel:)

We truly loved our hotel, especially the time we spent visiting with family in the hotel lobby. What a welcoming and comfortable spot! The coffee and breakfast selections were excellent. Service was outstanding. Your location is excellent. The carpet next to the bed had a large stain on it. That wasn’t pleasant to look at. That’s why some of our ratings were 4’s.

It was very well decorated. I liked all the little details. Our bathroom was a problem and i raised concern although nothing happened. The sink makes a very loud like engine noise every time we turned it on. Something with plumbing. It was scary using it in the middle of the night. The shower was seemingly clogged or something—two minutes in the shower and you’re standing in a bath. It overflowed into the outside of the shower and soaked through the towels. Very bad setup. It was slippery and uncomfortable every time we tried to shower.

Very nice but small with no closet and very little place to put bags or hanging clothes. Would definitely stay here again though.

The hotel looks cute but it felt like a place that was more about show than substance. The location was very convenient for walking around town but quite loud. The room looks nice but has very little storage for your things. I appreciate the nice looking end tables but would it have killed them to select something with a drawer? The bed wasn’t comfortable. The door to the room had weather stripping on the bottom but that still left about a half inch gap at the bottom. The bathroom door is a barn door so anyone else in the room can hear you use the loo. One morning they were completely out of yogurt. It was delicious yogurt. I get why it was popular. The things they did have were nice but not a ton of selection.

I enjoyed the room and the breakfast I would stay there again but on the 2nd floor ! The 1st floor is too loud you can hear people talking outside the window and you can hear the footsteps of the room above you!

Charming, luxurious property in an ideal location. Rooms are petite, but all three of our rooms had fireplaces —. elegant, comfortable and inviting. Ritz Carlton quality bedding. Staff is warm and welcoming. Snafu in the reservation, but Stephanie Lewis, the General Manager was exceptional in how she resolved the issue. Master class in professional hospitality. Highly recommend and I will stay here again with my family in the future!

This hotel is well located but I have a few issues to point out. 1. The rooms are loud as the windows do not block sound. 2. My bathroom flooded after I showered as the glass frame leaked water. 3. There is no air conditioning. 4. The free breakfast is very nominal though they make a little effort it lacks protein options. 5. Room lighting is odd. 6. There is street noise. Basically, this is a glorified roadside motel with nicer furnishings. The high price and product delivered do not jive or balance.

Property location is perfect in beautiful Carmel. Staff is very friendly and morning breakfast quite special. For the price point, rooms don’t hit the mark. Expensive to have paper thin walls. We paid $1800 for two nights where we were waken to the ice bin being used by staff to set for lobby breakfast. It was quite loud. Our bedroom window was level with sidewalk and had passerby’s constantly that could see in. We could hear everyone’s conversations and therefore knew we had to be quiet ourselves.The room itself was okay, but certainly not worth nearly 1K a night. Would definitely ask for room not near lobby or street. Disappointed about this, because it really was a cute place and the staff and breakfast are 10/10!

Bathroom has a barn door, which will not fully close, so whatever happens in the bathroom is exposed to the room.

The location is perfect, right near everything and a market/deli a block away. The touches are really nice, cute little dishes and glasses. One downside is you can hear everything going on, I could hear every word my neighbor was saying through the unused connecting door. Also tv’s aren’t able to connect to any kind of streaming.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Everything about the property is so thoughtful and absolutely darling. It was perfect for our first anniversary. And the staff was WONDERFUL—incredibly kind, gracious, and ready to do anything they could to make our stay better. Great location too. Would absolutely come back and will be looking for other Pali Society properties going forward.

Noisy as the hotel doesn't have Air conditioning so you have to sleep with the windows open. Our only window was out back and right on a busy street. Also, couldn't check in for 45 minutes past our check in time. Not sure I'd stay here again. And room service didn't show up til almost 3:45 pm one day....20 min after we returned to the room for a nap.

If not for the grumpy check in guy ( latino gentleman with a ponytail) and the fact he hat after being quiet unwelcoming he placed us in a room near the ice machine and trash shoot, we could hear guest and staff utilizing them at all jours of tge day and night so sleep was hard to cone by.

My stay at Le Petit Pali was amazing, the hotel itself was gorgeous, clean, warm and welcoming. Staff really do go out of your way to make you feel extra comfortable, breakfast was outstanding, our server Natalie took amazing care of us and was extremely attentive. I’ll be coming back to this hotel next time I’m in the area.

This is my third time staying here and it is still just as wonderful as it was the first time. The customer service is excellent, the whole staff!! Thank you!

When we arrived, the women at the front desk were absolutely lovely and very welcoming but our room wasn’t ready. When we came back 30 minutes later, there was an older gentleman managing the desk and he was standoffish and unwelcoming. He made the check-in process uncomfortable and was a bit condescending so that was not a great way to officially start the experience. We were also surprised at the limited counter space in bathroom and lack of closet. We just got back from the Four Seasons in Hawaii and paid less for the room there. While the hotel is cute and well located, I probably wouldn’t return.

Smallish rooms. Right on corner of Ocean and Junipero so very convenient...but also very noisy. Delivery trucks idle outside our room window early in the morning so choose your room wisely.

Such an amazing property. It’s beautiful and within walking distance to delicious dining, shopping and the beach. We love the breakfast and the cookies every evening. We will return.

While the rooms were comfortable, the small fridge was filled with beverages for purchase, leaving no space for personal items. Room service was great, but they forgot to refill our coffee and creamer for four consecutive days. The continental breakfast was average, though the server was excellent. Additionally, the coffee in the lobby contained a significant amount of coffee grounds for four days, which was a bit frustrating. Overall, the room was comfortable, but I probably would not stay here again.

Hotel stay was amazing. The front desk when we checked in was super friendly. I believe one was named Alex. It’s true, you do get champagne at check in. And also , they sent us down the street for sister hotel happy hour, and they also gave us free champagne and snacks. The room was very cute, loved the fire place and super modern. The next day we went to the “complimentary breakfast” and I’m pleased to say it was exceptional. Five stars isn’t enough. Mimosas, fresh delicious pastries, a fancy and cute yogurt bar, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, fresh sourdough bread if you want toast. This was for my girlfriend’s birthday weekend and the hotel really made our stay perfect. Can’t wait until we can go again. Walking distance to anything you could need, as well a the beach.
